I watched up to the Hatton build up, and I found it pretty boring tbh. I can understand it for massive matches, but if they did it every month, then it'd be boring.
Plus, don't they do this anyway? I don't watch often, but I've seen plenty of build up segs, plus, in wrestling, the van have the in ring segs to build things up and remind the fans why they hate each other.
Only so many times u can play the rocky theme...

That's because they're 5 different ends for 5 different 24/7 episodes.

Its the same tired format they've been beating their audience over the head with for the past 20 years. To be in honest, I also watch very little WWE programming but if I said the match build-up was in ring promo's & little bit of an altercation, I don't think I would be swinging far from the truth. This is where you expand that and open up the wrestlers story and give them more of a character. One negative you always hear is ""they're all the same now", "everyone's a cookie cutter wrestler." If you give them an identity, showing their training methods, them working out & fighting styles would add legitimacy to their credentials. WWE forecasted 7% of employee cuts because the WWE Network wasn't as profitable as they thought it would be. They've got 600,000 subscribers and they want 1,000,000. They're never going to get there showing old WCW & WWE PPV's. They need new, unique material which can tie in to the cheap PPV's they're offering.

That's why they have Jim Johnston to make them any music they want.

They did something similar to this on RAW to hype Lesnar v Cena. I thought it was one of the best video packages id seen in years. I'm all for it.

Add more PPV main event special shows to the WWE Network. What I mean by that is do a 2/3 part special on the rivalry between the wrestlers in the main event for a PPV card. They've got the media platform, they've got the studio's, they've got the writers. Its an easy way to get the audience interested in a match or wrestling card. What makes the 50th John Cena vs. Randy Orton championship match anymore special than the 49th?! HBO do it with their 24/7 series and Showtime do it with their All Access series for boxing & MMA. If the fight doesn't grab your attention, watch a couple of those and it sucks you back in.
They all follow the same formula of training regime, home life, after hours activities & history between the combatants. Cue narrator recaps, dramatic music, slow-mo running & panning over the city. Then comes the anticipation for the fight.

And here's all 3 episodes for the Floyd Mayweather/Canelo Alvarez fight, which is now the biggest grossing PPV in boxing history. The worlds best fighting the young & hungry, undefeated fighter who has an old foe of Floyds as his manager. Boxing doing wrestling storylines better than wrestling.
