The death of gwen Stacy is a good book, and they did well in the film with that part.
Was a good film as well. I wasn't happy with how they cast Electro but he was quite good and I can see why they made such drastic changes.
The third film has apparently been pushed back to allow the Sinister Six film to go first along with a venom story.
Yeah, Sinister Six is 2016, Spidey 3 is 2018.
I thought the way she died was so good. If he'd just caught her just an inch sooner, she probably would have survived. It was great storytelling. Better than the usual, overused, dramatically slow death.

She wouldn't have. She dies from breaking her neck. All down to how fast she was falling and the sudden stop when he caught her. Like super whiplash.
I thought he caught her, but she just hit the ground for a split second and that's what broke her neck... oh well, still a better way to kill her.

Has anyone seen this? I gotta say, despite the mixed reaction from critics, I was really impressed.
The critics said that there were too many villains and unresolved plot lines.... but my argument is they've included three villains (one of which was defeated, the other two not) to set up for the next film, as well as the spin-offs Venom and the Sinister Six.
I thought Paul Giamatti was good as Rhino, although he only had a small part. I'm sure he'll be a bigger part of future movies. At the beginning of the film, I wasn't too impressed with Harry Osborn's casting but by the end of the film I was sold. Good performance from DeHaan, who I haven't seen before.
But my favourite part of the film was about twenty minutes from the end when it took a major dark turn for the whole series. Comic readers probably saw it coming but I don't follow the comics and I really didn't see Gwen's death coming. I was stunned and I was just thinking, "Where the hell can Spidey go from here?"
I think they've cast Mary Jane for the third one, which I guess would make sense, but I hope it's a slow burner simply because they spent two films building the relationship between Gwen and Peter so realistically, it would take him a while to get over her death.
I enjoyed it. I thought they did well at explaining about Peter's parents, something the old franchise never bothered with. Since I don't read the comics, it's always bugged me not knowing what exactly they were about.
So now I'm thinking we have Green Goblin, Rhino, Venom who will probably make an appearance in the third movie. Venom is my favourite Spidey villain so I'm good with that. And I guess I can hope for a Carnage appearance too further on down the line.
