Yep, he's getting shoulder surgery.

Poor Wade, he always get injured just when things are looking good for him. I hope he can pick up where he left off when he returns!!

I hope he doesn't end up on the injury prone list and ends up jobbing the rest of his days...
I expect him to come back to a mega pop and following though... he is great.
i think i was full of no's last night when they announced his injury, and forfeiting of the title... but i think the worst no came when they said Battle Royal.... why does it have be done that way... couldn't they at least do what they did for Razor Ramon's first IC title run? they did a battle royal and the last two guys would then have a normal match to decide the champion. (other guy was Rick Martel)
it be a little more interesting.
I was actually disappointed that they had the announcers announce that the title was being vacated. Should have had Triple H or Steph do it, give the title some prestige.
But was he injured legit by swagger, or was the swagger attack just to give Barrett a reason to have surgery?
(Sheesh, forum full of nerds and none of them read the op...)
We did answer it. Yes, Swagger injured him when he threw him into the security wall and now he needs surgery.
I have no problem with the battle royal, I love those things. We have had a lot of them lately, but this one is actually for something. The Mania battle royal was pretty useless, and Reigns' number one contendership battle royal was a formality at best, but this one is to crown a new champion. I kinda hope they keep it relatively small, like they did when they brought the IC belt back in 2003, featuring only former IC champions. That one felt important.
Snake, I'm guessing they don't do the pinfall stip for the final two because that's how TNA does their battle royals. Although saying that, it would surprise me a little bit if anyone in WWE actually knew how TNA does battle royals...

Everyone was just saying he was injured, no one confirmed swagger did it. It's 2 am and I can't be reading between the lines, I need it spelt out, dammit!
And thanks for the info chaps.

I genuinely had no idea TNA did this lol.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!

Didn't think we needed to specify it since you question only asked whether Swagger legit hurt him or if it was story line. If you'd asked whether the injury was real, if Swagger did it or if it was fake, then I'd understand your confusion. 😉
Swagger does injure people in the ring, but I don't think this 1 was his fault, more of a freak accident. Barret took that bump a million times. This time, something just popped.
So barretts out for several months. Was he legit hurt by swagger, or was that to storyline Barrett out?
