Another one added to the list. JTG. I honestly didn't even know he was still with the company. Thought he was released ages ago.

Since the first Tough Enough apparently. And that was ages ago.

Pro wrestling doesn't seem to be a really good career, purely because WWE is the biggest company by far and they seem to fire hard-working roster members all the time. None of these guys even came close to reaching their full potential!

Ricardo Rodriguez has now gone. Seems like it's something he's not too sad about as he's said that he misses wrestling - there was no chance of that happening from the moment they stuck him on the Spanish Announcers table, his time would have been after splitting with del Rio.

He and Del Rio have both fallen majorly from grace. I wish him the best wherever he goes... now we just need Del Rio to leave too. I really dislike him. His character is damaged beyond repair, he's gone from face to heel so many times he's just meh now... not to mention the quality of his matches have been nothing special and when was the last time he was relevant? He's fallen under the "Sheamus Curse" yet somehow manages to be even more insignificant than Sheamus... since ironically, Sheamus is somewhat significant now he holds the US Title.

I hate that former World Champions that are still relatively young and active are flopping so hard... whether its them or WWE's reluctance to follow through on them, it's making them look really bad. Nothing to do with the releases but Rodriguez just reminded me how much I dislike Del Rio these days.

Del Rio's problem was his character. It was his destiny to win the title. Was fun hearing him say it so confidently. Then when he won the title it was great hearing him tell us all that he was right. But then what? He still had a character though and so that still made him relevant to some extent, but it was clear that the writers were our of material for him. So the character faded away, they eventually took away him coming in in a new car every week and saying how rich he was. He went from a character to just another wrestler, which is even more of a problem.

I don't think it was his character so much as how they stripped him of it so brutally, and even worse was how they stalled on him for so long. He started off really strongly, he was awesome for a few months and looked to win the title around the 2011 Rumble. Instead they wanted to hold off until Mania and give him the Rumble win. Fine, I guess, but then they changed their minds and had him lose his title match in the opener. Then he lost again when Christian got the feel good win after Edge's retirement. Then he took a back seat to Christian and Orton. The company started out behind him but it fizzled. By the time they were ready to go with him later that year with Punk and Cena he was already cold.

And then the face turn guaranteed he'd never be anything again. They took his entrance pyro, the car, the announcer, even gave him a lame Christmas theme song. His debut vignettes featured Del Rio talking about his attributes, putting over how he's a rich, Mexican aristocrat. When he turned face he'd say he was born in Mexico but made in America. What the hell? No one wants to hear that. Not Mexicans, not Americans, no one. He was pure gold when he made that joke about hiring illegal Canadians to clean his mansion, but he'd fallen a long way in a short time. Then they turned him heel again, but he had to keep the same weak babyface entrance and even the USA/Mexico flag t-shirt.

If I could pinpoint when it all started I'd say late 2010 to early 2011 when they switched from going all out to push him to deciding other guys were more important. The Rumble win was nice but it wasn't enough.

According to some sources, some more roster cuts are coming soon. So who do you guys think will be off in the next lot?

I'm going to go for:

  1. Otunga (can't believe he's still employed).
  2. Albert (again, can't believe he's still employed).
  3. Justin Gabriel

Along with some lowly guys that no ones really heard off.

The Great Khali and Brad Maddox are on the alumni page so I guess they're gone now.

It's sad that Khali only stayed on because he made money from Indian fans. If it wasn't for that he'd have gone a long time ago. Should have really anyway as I've heard for years that his health isn't that great.

Yesterday, Dave Meltzer said these about Maddox:

"He's still under contract as of this morning."
"Maddox did a house show tour not too long ago."
