Mid Card

No musical or video opening. Hard camera shot of the ring. Mike Nichols is standing in the ring dressed in one of his custom tailored suits. He has a mic in his hands. He brings it to his mouth to address the crowd.

Nichols: Ladies and gentlemen, I am so very proud to welcome you to the Danger Zone!!!! This is the Main Event Wrestling Federation and I am it’s proud owner, Mike Nichols. I don’t plan on being out here in front of you all very often but this momentous occasion calls for my presence. Tonight is the start of a new era in professional wrestling. I have acquired a roster of immense talent and I look forward to showcasing these amazing athletes to you all on a regular basis.

Again, don’t plan on my face being all over the show like on some shows in the past. That being said, I have appointed a General Manager to oversee the day to day operations in MEWF and this man has leadership experience. He knows the rules of the ring like no one else. He has been in every position from manager to referee to GM. Everyone please welcome the General Manager of MEWF, Teddy Long!!

Teddy Long’s music hits and he dances out onto the stage and down to the ring, shaking hands with the audience members along the way. As he enters the ring, he shakes hands with Mike Nichols and stands beside the owner.

Nichols: Teddy, it’s great to have you on board and without further delay on my part, the keys to the city are yours. Get it started and take this ship to the moon.

With that, Nichols hands the mic over to Teddy, who shakes Nichols’ hand once more before the owner leaves the ring and exits the arena. Teddy addresses the crowd.

Long: Holla, holla, holla!! The Danger Zone is live and in full effect here in Indianapolis, Indiana!

The local crowd gives Long the cheap pop he was looking for and cheers the name of their hometown proudly.

Long: Mr. Nichols has given me the position of GM and I do not want to let him down. Because of the high expectations set for me, in return I have high expectations for all the wrestlers in the back. Now then, what’s a wrestling company without a champion? To make sure we don’t have to wonder, I have set up a 16-man tournament to crown the first ever MEWF World Champion! The champion will be crowned at our first pay-per-view event, Inception. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, these 16-men will battle each other in singles matches leading to the finals at Inception. If you direct your attention to the video screen, you will see the brackets for the championship tournament.

The screen comes to life with the brackets displayed:
