Pardew is also refusing to give Gutierrez any more games for some reason. He pretty much just told him that he's not going to play for Newcastle again and didn't give an explanation. Presumably he has something in his contract that says if he plays over a certain number of games he gets a guaranteed bonus or extension or something, so he's stuck. He's been a big loss for the team this year, but I guess he'd have been out with injuries either way.
Sunderland were great, really strong in defence. I have to hope now that Chelsea can beat Liverpool and that Pool drop more points somewhere else, but it's not looking like it'll happen.

That was Mourinho's first loss under Chelsea at home in the Premier League ever.
Sunderland: Eat Sleep Break the Streak.

Defend, get lucky, break the streak. Just as good though.

It looks like Mourinho wants to play a weak team on Sunday in protest about the scheduling of the match and his champions league match next Wednesday. He might not be allowed, but if he does it'll basically hand Liverpool the title. Hate that guy.

If he goes easy I'll never respect him as a manager again. And hopefully the FA would come down hard on him.
Shelvey just scored a world class goal ten yards from the halfway line. Look out for it on MOTD.

Swans are flying. Great win, great performance.

Chelsea got a great win today. Was surprised by it considering the team they put out - even though the team in itself would probably do very well in the league if they were a separate team. But still, wasn't a full strength Chelsea side and they went to Anfield and won 2-0. I just wish that Torres had scored at the end instead of passing it to Willian.
Brilliant though. Not a fan of Man City at all, in fact I quite dislike them. But I'll be cheering them on until the end of the season as I'd much rather they won the league that Liverpool. Just imagine if Liverpool win the league. We'd still be hearing about it in 20 years time.
Today was a masterclass in how to combat THAT atmosphere and neutralise the key threats. Some commentators were sniffy about the tactics but I thought it was stupid of them to assume Chelsea would simply walk into Anfield and play Liverpool in their manner. Talk about naivety.
The team was pretty strong today too. I don't think anyone bought the 'I'm fielding a weak team' comment from Mourinho. With that being said, I think it's still Liverpool's title to lose. I'd like them to win it, if not to shut up fans who still live in the 80's then to allow the fans to celebrate what has been a great season for them. It deserves a cherry on the cake and winning the League would be quite a cherry. Kind of like Atletico winning their respective league over the other two.
Liverpool wont drop anymore points and I think Everton could hold City to a draw. Its been a weird but entertaining season. I still say Liverpool to win the league.

It's not. They can win both of their remaining games and they'd still need City to drop points. Right now City are eight goals ahead, and assuming City only win their next three games by one goal each, that forces Pool into needing an average of two 6-0 victories. I don't see it.

If anyone could overturn the goal difference it's Liverpool. Suarez and Sturridge have 50 goals between them in the League this season.

Also, this.

Liverpool fucked up bad tonight. 3-0 up and with 12 minutes left against Crystal Palace, they went an conceded 3 goals. Great result for Palace to draw 3-3 with Liverpool, but that surely means the title will be going to City.
I don't like how City have gone about building their squad, but I'd much rather they won the league than Liverpool. So I'm happy.
I don't get why so many supporters of other teams hate Liverpool, like wtf have Liverpool done to fans of teams like Aston Villa and Newcastle?
I'm glad they choked though, it'd be terrible if they won it coming out of nowhere instead of Arsenal. At least when the oil clubs win it it's easier to write off.

I don't like how as a club the handle things like the numerous Suarez incidents and also can't stand how their fans go on. It's all I see and hear about, online and with my friends that support them. Constantly go on about winning the title over 20 years ago and act like they deserve to be challenging for the title because of that. Also that it makes them the biggest team in England. No, Liverpool WERE the biggest club over 20 years ago. Not anymore. Move on. Stop acting like you deserve to be winning things.

Who else in the top 4 deserves it more? The billionaire playthings or Arsenal who can only manage 1 victory vs the top 4?
You seem to hate them because you have an annoying Liverpool supporting friend, tbh I'd prefer them over United or Chelsea any day of the week. You can't tell me you'd rather see Chelsea win it.

This season yeah, they probably deserve it, but they haven't for a long time before this season and it's not stopped what seems like a majority of their fans acting like the deserve it in previous years.
Don't know who I want to win it really, just know I don't want Liverpool to.
After destroying Villa last night, Man City just need a point in their final game to secure the title. I think it's safe to say that they will get at least that.
Hopefully Newcastle can do over Liverpool. Would be good to end the season on a high after all the shit form we've had recently. Reality though will probably be that we end the season being totally owned.
Nice try, Sky.

Ref has been absolute shit in this game. No Liverpool player seems to be able to stay on their feet and the ref is giving free kicks for them practically every time. Then sends Ameobi off for complaining about how soft their free kicks are. It's almost like the ref is trying to hand the title to Liverpool. Thank fuck Man City are winning.
Don't usually complain about ref's, but Dowd has been absolute shit and playing right into Liverpools unsportsman-like hands.
And now Dummet has been sent off for minimal contact and it can't be classed as a goal scoring opportunity when just inside the Newcastle half. Another example of the ref being shit towards Newcastle. Many moments where a Liverpool player should have been booked and not a card given.
City's win was pretty nice, but still not the highlight of my day...

We won't keep Remy. He's been very clear that he wants to see what Champions League teams will be in for him. Unfortunately, he's very money orientated. Seems like the kind of guy that would be happy to sit on the bench provided he's paid well for it. Not that you can really blame them, he has no reason to be loyal to Newcastle and he might as well get as much money as he can whilst he's playing.
De Jong has been very disappointing so far. But he's 23 so hopefully if we do sign him permanently we get him dead cheap because he's been so poor. I get the feeling that he'll come good eventually, he's certainly young enough to improve and adapt to the league.
Cabaye really ran our midfield, not replacing him was our downfall in a major way. The flung the ball all over the place, getting the ball to our wingers, to our strikers, etc. Really can't believe we failed to replace him, so that has to be top, top priority in the Summer. Top priority. Or we'll continue our shitty slide down the table.
