Sole Survivor
WH Storm vs Renfield
Thought Smith would take this and job to Penance but Renfield winning makes ne think hes gonna win the whole thing.
NME vs Damico Brothers
NME dominated to give them momentum. Not much more to say. I think High Society will win the Revival match.
Triple threat for the Womens title sounds good to me. Bout time Spice dropped the title.
Redman vs Kincaid
Redman and Gemini interaction was hilarious. Smoke vs Redman sounds cool and Redman gets an impressive victory over the "normal" twin even if it is dirty.
Curious to see where this Afterlife stuff leads.
Skill Set vs Los Dragonquistadores
Skill Set have been built superbly and have to be favourites to take the tag titles at Revival. Nice promo afterwards to solidify their dominance lately.
Chux vs Minion
Great story told in this match. Chux overcame the odds and eventually pulled off a nice win but Valentine plays mind games. This feud had also been superb.
Again all the credit to compy for the last seg. I wrote my bits but compy made that seg so much better. Been a great feud cant wait to get revival underway.
Overall a nice go home show. Revival X is here. Despite the odds we've managed to get a decent PPV and I think with some consistency we can keep up the good work.

Thanks Taker_2004 for the banner!
Good go-home show.
It'll be nice to see some new feuds after the PPV, and some new blood in the title pictures.
FYI, yellow text ames me cry... like a man.
Really good show, enjoyed reading it, and as I'm starting to get the characters and story lines, it's really starting to work for me.
Sole Survivor has been great fun, with some great gimmick matches and this one hasn't disappointed. Renfield seems to have survived by the skin of his teeth for a while but he's going in as the underdog and Penance is already underestimating him, so this should make for a nice dynamic in the final.
Nice squash match for NME, great build up with some fantastic momentum going into the tag champ match.
Triple threat match for womens championship will be interesting. Either way, with both challengers despising Loriley, an because of that, I wouldn't be surprised to see her retain to be honest. The enemy of my enemy is my friend? well, we'll see if the challengers can get the job done.
Some great comedy moments in this next segment, and building an interesting match up too. Wouldn't be surprised to see Redman bottle it again. He just seems far too full of hot air to be able to win this clean, whilst Smoke seems hungry for it. Again a case of the underestimated underdog and I think it'll bite Redman on the arse.
Shades of Awesome King and the Beautiful People here, could be fun ;-)
Another squash match with Skill Set dominant. What else to say that hasn't been said for NME? Either way, we're gonna have new tag champs.
Right, as a newcomer to this, the history between [chux] and pretty much everyone else is lost on me, but either way, this was an interesting match. With all the talk and bad mouthing from the last few shows, it's good to finally see [chux] put his money where his mouth is, even though he nearly got squashed himself, but then I guess it's a little like riding a bike, and eventually the rust will fall away. Great story to this match and some great psychological play by Valentine at the end.
I really do wonder if there has ever been a contract singing in pro wrestling (RP or RL) that didn't end up in a brawl... Either way, this looks like a brutal culmination to a long running feud. This one is gonna be brutal.
Final thoughts, high standard as usual, and looking forward to being able to contribute fully towards it. Just one thing, do you have to use that yellow? That colour is practically impossible to read....
4CW Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Triple Crown Champion 2020. 2 times Universal, 2 times Tag team and 1 Time World Heavyweight Champion.
Wrestler of the Year 2017, Champion of the Year 2017, Most Improved 2017
I never thought about the yellow, I use the dark theme so it shows up better than just about any other colour. It's black text that's the devil! I'll see what I can do about it for next time.
You all know what you're doing for Revival, so get on it! We don't have that long left. These weeks fly by.

Loveless: Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest is the penultimate round of the Sole Survivor Tournament, and is a Tables Match!
Steven Penance comes down to the ring first, and sits down next to Jeffrey and Phoenix at the ringside commentator’s table. Renfield’s out next, followed by WH Storm.
Ding, ding, ding!
Match 1 - WH Storm v Renfield
#1 contendership to custom championship, sole survivor
Renfield and Storm go all out, with furious and ferocious attacks. The violently slam each other onto the mat and into the ring corners with high-powered moves. Things go ugly as they slow down slightly and slug it out with some very stuff chops and blows.
Phoenix: Steven Penance, welcome back!
Penance: Scott. Never a pleasure.
Phoenix: The phrase is 'always a pleasure.'
Penance: I know the phrase.
Renfield catches Storm and heaves him into the air with a German suplex. He rolls out of the ring, limping slightly due to the stiff attacks from Storm. He checks under the ring and pulls out a table. Renfield slides the table into the ring, and slides in himself.
Storm uses Renfield’s time out of the ring to recover, so when Renfield’s met with a boot to the face when he’s back in the ring. Storm sets up the table in the middle of the ring, and tries to powerbomb Renfield through. But Renfield wriggles out, and slams him down onto the mat.
Jeffrey: So Steve - may I call you Steve?
Penance: You may not.
Jeffrey: So Steven, which of these guys would you prefer to face at Revival?
Penance: It doesn't matter. Look at them, do you think either of them can beat me?
Phoenix: I wouldn't take them so lightly!
Penance: And that's why your career amounted to nothing. I'll take lightly whoever I determine to deserve being taken lightly. A champion should have a good judgement of these things.
Jeffrey: He sure showed you, Scott.
Renfield tries to lock in a submission, but Storm crawls over to the ropes and slides out of the ring. He pulls a pipe from under the ring, and smacks Renfield in the head with it as he pokes his head through the ropes to get at Storm.
Renfield falls backwards, and Storm, back in the ring, pummels him with the pipe some more. Renfield meekly tries to fend off Storm, but to no use. Renfield stops moving, and Storm decides he’s had enough. He pulls Renfield up, and points at the table. He lays Renfield out on the table and heads over to the ropes.
Phoenix: Uh oh! WH Storm is looking for the win here after a very uncharateristic lead pipe assault.
Penance: Big mistake.
Phoenix: How so?
Penance: I don't have to explain anything to you.
Jeffrey: You don't have to, no...but would you mind telling me anyway?
Penance: Hmph. He's lasted this long in a tough tournament. He's been lucky to avoid me. Now he should be trying to end this match as quickly as possible, not trying to make the highlight reel.
Storm climbs to the top rope, turns around and sees Renfield hurtling towards him. Renfield crashes into the corner and pushes Storm, who goes flying through the air and crashes into the commentator’s table. The table smashes to bits, and Phoenix, Jeffrey and Penance all fall backwards and get tangled up in the myriad of wires and cables across the floor.
Phoenix: Waaah!
Penance: Oh now this is just too much!
Renfield, still hurt from the pipe, falls down and catches his breath back. The ref goes to check on Storm. The commentators and Penance untangle themselves from the wires. Penance looks furious. He rips his headset off and grabs Storm, pulling him away from the ref, and Irish whips him into the crowd barrier. Penance roars and charges at the hurt Storm, viciously clotheslining him. He Irish whips him again, sending him into the ring pole. He rolls Storm into the ring, and shouts at Renfield to finish him off.
Renfield, not sure how to react, picks up Storm. But Storm fights, and gets out of Renfield’s grasp. He throws some lefts and rights, pushing Renfield backwards towards the table. Storm bounces against the ropes and charges at Renfield, hoping to push him into the table.
But Renfield knows exactly where he is. Storm reaches Renfield, but Carstein’s minion catches him, and hoists him into the air with a belly-to-belly suplex. Storm smashes through the table, and Renfield picks up the win.
Winner: Renfield
Eliminated: WH Storm
Loveless: Ladies and Gentlemen, WH Storm has been eliminated from the Sole Survivor Tournament! Which means Renfield will face Steven Penance in the final round at Revival to crown the new 4CW Custom Cup Champion!
Phoenix: And there we have it! This match wasn't the clean contest I was hoping for, but one way or another it's Renfield who makes it into the finals!
Jeffrey: That guy?! I guess this really goes to show that anything can happen in a 4CW ring.
Phoenix: Well ladies and gentlemen, we have to move on as we have so much more to get to tonight. Including a huge main event!
Jeffrey: He's baaaaaack!
Phoenix: 4CW hall of famer [chux] McCool will be in action for the first time in nearly two years, in preparation for his match against Jack "Mad Dog" Valentine at Revival X. He takes on an old rival of his, New Redemption leader Minion.
Jeffrey: The man he beat to become the first ever 4CW champion. This is history repeating right here.
Match 2 - NME (w/ Siddney Black) v D'Amico Brothers
Pretty short match. Black barks orders from ringside while his boys get the job done very decisively. Raymond puts Frankie away with the death ray DDT into the guillotine choke. Frankie doesn't even get to tap before the referee calls for the bell.
- Winners: NME
The camera cuts to a backstage area where Hugh Knowles stands with the 4CW Women’s Champion, Lorelei Spice.
Knowles: Last week we had a match to determine the #1 Contender for the Women’s Championship. As you all know, unfortunately, it ended in a draw. Which means –
Lorelei snatches the microphone from Knowles’ hand.
Lorelei: Which means that neither of you will get to face me at Revival!
This doesn’t go down too well with Marie Dubois and Jenna Divyne, as they both appear on the scene from nowhere, together, shouting at Lorelei. The Women’s Champ watches them, with a slightly cocky smile.
Jenna: Woah woah woah. I deserve that rematch! I beat her last week, one two three!
Marie: You wha? Y'all didn't beat me, ah beat you! That shot is mahne!
Lorelei: Well, why should either of you get to face me? Jenna, you failed to get the job done against me last time you had a title shot. And Marie, you got your chance on Stormfront a few weeks ago. It’s not my fault Jenna interfered. You should’ve read your cards to see she’d get involved then beaten me quickly. And now you can’t even beat each other fairly!
Marie and Jenna both start shouting and arguing with Lorelei.
Knowles: Alright, enough! ENOUGH!
They all stop to listen.
Knowles: Lorelei has a point –
Marie and Jenna start arguing again, but stop when Knowles raises his hand.
Knowles: Lorelei has a point, neither of you could beat each other fairly. But nevertheless, you still did actually beat each other. And we do need a title defence at Revival, so instead of ruling that you both lost and there's no contender, I'm ruling that you both won and so you’re both #1 contenders.
Marie and Jenna smile, and this time it’s Lorelei’s turn to argue.
Lorelei: Wait, no!
Knowles: At Revival, Lorelei Spice, you will defend that Women’s Championship in a Triple Threat match against both Jenna Divyne and Marie Dubois!
Lorelei tries to protest, but to no avail. She throws her championship belt at Jenna, who’s caught by surprise. Marie watches on, and doesn’t notice Lorelei’s foot hit her in the face as Lorelei hits a round-house kick on the Mistress of Magic. Jenna drops the belt, and gets caught with a stiff elbow strike.
With her two challengers down, Lorelei grabs her belt and raises it in the air, standing in triumph.
Phoenix: With the odds stacked against her, Lorelei Spice has just sent a powerful message to her would-be challengers!
Back to the ring now, where universal title hopeful Smoke is standing with a mic and a black eye. He's not in a good mood.
Smoke: Redman, get your ass out here.
A few moments pass, but soon enough 'Iconoclast' hits and "The Icon" shows up. He keeps his distance though, standing on the stage instead of coming down to the ring where Smoke could give him his reciept.
Redman: What is it, Smoke? I'm a busy guy, make it quick.
Smoke: Listen here you son of a bitch. I'm not surprised that you attacked me like that, and honestly I'm not even that angry. I'm a wrestler, it's part of the job.
Redman: Glad you see it my way. If you want, I can help you earn your money again tonight.
Smoke: That won't be necessary. I'm not surprised and I'm not angry, but I sure as hell am fired up. So you want the universal title? So do I.
Redman: Then it looks like we have an impasse, doesn't it?
Smoke: I don't know what an impasse is. But sure, ok.
Redman: Smoke, you're not very good at this. Allow me. Ahem. Mark Redman! The Icon! You beat the hell out of me, and I'm not gonna take it lying down...like I usually do, when Victor Kincaid tells me to. I want a match, against you, at Revival!
Smoke: Very funny, good one. You forgot one thing though.
Redman: I left something out? You mean you're not going to deny the Kincaid thing?
Smoke: You forgot that I had to prove myself to get a title shot. I had to beat the first ever universal champion, Victor Kincaid. So if you want a shot, you have to prove yourself too.
Redman: Smoke, I prove myself worthy of championship status every second of every day. Just look at me. I went to an indy show the other day and they begged me to take their belts.
Smoke: Take it or leave it.
Redman: Alright, I'll bite. Who do I have to beat?
Smoke: I had to beat Victor, so it's only fair that you...
Pink Floyd's 'Money' hits, bringing both co-holders of the first universal championship to the stage alongside Redman, Victor and Dredrick Kincaid.
Victor: Smoke, why didn't you tell me he was such a stud?
Redman: Wooooahh, no. You stay back.
Victor: Aww, he's shy.
Dredrick: Heh. I know you like the timid ones, brother.
Redman: Hey! Hey now, this isn't gonna happen, ok?
Victor: I heard your comment about me making Smoke take it lying down. It was funny. I like a man with a sense of humour.
Redman: I'm serious! You stay the hell away from me! Normal twin, are we doing this or what?
Redman keeps his distance as he circles around the Gemini twins to head down the ramp to the relative safety of the ring and Smoke. He rolls in and is careful not to get too close to Smoke, in case he wants some revenge.
Redman: I'm ready! Leave your freak brother up there and let's do this!
Victor smirks, waving Dredrick off to go take care of business.
Match 3 - "The Icon" Mark Redman v Dredrick Kincaid (w/ Smoke & Victor Kincaid
This one goes a decent length, mostly in Redman's favour. He starts off strong by attacking Kincaid as he climbs into the ring, staying on him in the early minutes. Dredrick fights back with an impressive array of suplexes, chaining together a German suplex into a dragon suplex into a high angled back suplex. Redman rolls out to buy some time, sweeping Dredrick's feet to get back into the match. Kincaid gets one more rally, turning a snap suplex into a fisherman's suplex into a Northern lights suplex. Redman kicks out, and low bridges Kincaid to send him to the outside. While Redman is selling in the ring, the Virus and Jakob Villani show up and start brawling with Victor and Smoke. Mark Holmes sprints out from backstage to make the save, but his guys are already on the defensive. The referee tries to eject all four men, which is when Descent uses the distraction to lay Dredrick out with the 'descent to hell' brainbuster. He rolls Kincaid back into the ring and heads over to help his teammates out against High Society, leaving Redman to crawl into the cover. The referee takes a while to notice, but Kincaid is out.
Winner: "The Icon" Mark Redman
We cut to a cameraman running backstage to catch up to an attack in progress. Leo Banks is seen armed with a baseball bat, swinging down on the form of Brian 'the Freight Train' White, who's covering his head with his arms and curled up in a defensive posture.
"You shouldn't have followed me here, White! I'll kill you for what you did to me!"
Leo continues to rain down blow after blow, whilst continuing his tirade of betrayal and vengeance, until finally realizing the the Freight Train is unconscious.
"Huh, not so tough now... I'll be seeing you again!"
With that he shoulders the bat and saunters off as medical staff come to the aid.
Brutal stuff. We're back to the arena, and we catch the tail end of the RockStarr's entrance. Candi takes her time getting into the ring, doing the slutty diva deal showing off her ass. She has a mic and suddenly switches to serious mode.
Candi: Enough! I am sick of this! We've been screwed with one time too many!
Starr: Two times too many!
Candi: Three times too many!
Starr: Too many damn times! And we're sick of it!
Candi: Revival is only one week away and we are not going to let our moment be ruined by...whoever you are!
Starr: That's right. So whoever is doing this, we demand you show yourself!
Suddenly the arena lights are cut. The tron gives an ambient glow as smoke appears. Slow, eerie music plays softly, and words fade in and out on the screen.
The day of judgement is upon us.
Actions will be weighed.
Fates will be decided.
Afterlife.
Flames burst up from the stage area, and a single spotlight beams down to the bottom of the ramp. The RockStarrs are left to wonder what the hell is going on, when suddenly the light and fire disappears and the arena lights come back as if nothing had happened. Starr, Candi and T-Rock all look at each other, unsure of what to make of this, and decide it's probably best to just go.
* Update on the Unnatural Predators. They're not yet cleared, the doctors need another week.
Stormfront comes back from commercial with Los Dragonquistadores; Cyber Dragon and El Conquistador in the ring, and Gulmira by Ramin Djawadi playing, and The Skill Set; Kensai & Paladin Wells comeing down to ringside with Courtney Frost a few steps behind them. As the two 4CW newcomers slide into the ring, Dragon & Conquistador attack! Boot after boot land on Paladin & Kensai’s back as the bell rings and the match quickly begins.
Match 4 - Los Dragonquistadores v Skill Set
Dragon lifts up Paladin, and lands a chop, and then another. Conquistador drops a number of ax handles to Kensai’s back.
Conquistador starts to whip Kensai across the ring, only for Kensai to reverse the whip, and catch Conquistador coming off the ropes with a SUPERKICK, knocking Conquistador over the top rope and to the outside floor! Cyber Dragon whips Paladin Wells off the ropes and goes to land a clothesline, but Wells ducks under it as he comes off the ropes and hit the opposite side ropes, coming off and flattens CyberDragon with a bone-crunching SPEAR! The crowd goes wild with cheers as Paladin looks to Kensai, and then Kensai nods as she scoots to the corner and hops to the top rope.
Paladin Wells pulls CyberDragon up and then back down into THE HOLY AVENGER (Jackhammer Powerslam)!!! An instant later, Kensai launches off the top rope and nails the downed CyberDragon with THE RISING SON (Top Rope Corkscrew Moonsault Pin)!!! Paladin slides out of the ring, and the ref drops to make the count.
1... 2... THREE!!!
Winners: Skill Set
The crowd erupts even more as the announcer shouts: The winners of the match... the... Skiiiiiiiiiiiill Seeeeeeet!!
Gulmira by Ramin Djawadi starts to play in victory. The ref raises the hand of Kensai and Paladin Wells as Courtney Frost slides into the ring beside her team.
An instant later, Paladin Well insists on getting the mic from the announcer. As the crowd dies down, Paladin takes the mic up to his mouth. He watches Los Dragonquistadores regroup outside the ring, and head to the back before he starts to speak.
Paladin Wells: Well, look who’s back in the ring!
The crowd cheers.
Paladin Well: At least Los Dragonquistadores SHOWED UP to have a match. The Predators... natural or unnatural... well, they... did not. I used to remember a 30-day clause in championship contracts. If you don’t defend the title in 30 days, you get stripped of the title. Maybe 4CW doesn’t have that rule... It probably SHOULD... have that rule. It won’t be a problem AFTER Revival. At Revival, in just one week, the Skill Set change the landscape of the Tag Team division for the better. When we have the titles, we’ll take on anyone, anywhere, any kind of match... as long as there is a 4CW-sanctioned referee to call the match... and as long as we’re getting paid...
The crowd chuckles.
Paladin Wells: It’s simple. THE SKILL SET don’t make idle threats, and we don’t make promises. When we want to DO SOMETHING... we just do it. When we want someone gone.. they get gone. Sery... Rog... even Nightshade. We were here for a cup of coffee before we had issues with those guys... and now WE'RE HERE... and they're gone. Predators... now the Skill Set want you GONE. At Revival... we’re going to make it so, and in the process, we’re taking home the 4CW... TAG... TEAM... CHAMPIONSHIP!
Paladin drops the mic to the mat as the crowd cheers. Gulmira by Ramin Djawadi starts to play as the 3 members of the Skill Set slide out of the ring and head to the back.
* Maybe something with Belly and Chris Marks?
Time for the main event now! Minion heads out to the ring with Mullet Superior and Roman with him, taking their places at ringside. [chux] comes out to his Black Water music, wearing the mask given to him by Lord Skywolf many years ago. He poses with his arms out to his sides for his pyro blasts, then heads down the ramp quickly, sliding into the ring and dumping the mask to get this match underway.
Match 5 - [chux] v Minion (w/ New Redemption)
[chux] clearly wants to get this over with quickly, charging at Minion and trying to back him into a corner. Minion no-sells, standing up to the smaller man's lesser strength. [chux] steps back and looks up at the giant, wondering why he's having no effect. He throws a punch at the big man, who catches it and delivers a big chop to [chux]'s head, sending him tumbling to the canvas. [chux] is starting to realise that this isn't going to be the walkover he was expecting. Minion slowly lumbers towards him, so he takes a powder and tries to clear his head at ringside. He looks back into the ring at where Minion is standing so tall, and decides that he's had enough. [chux] turns to leave, but Jack Valentine has appeared at the top of the ramp to block his exit.
Valentine asks [chux] is he's going somewhere, [chux] tries to say he's just playing some mind games. Roman and Mullet are now coming around the ring to get their man back into the match, so he rolls back in to avoid them. Minion towers over [chux] to pick him up, so the smaller man scrambles between his legs to escape and starts laying forearms in to his back. Minion barely notices them, swiping at [chux] with his arm to knock him away.
Jeffrey: It's like he's forgotten how to wrestle!
Phoenix: I've seen ring rust, but this is something completely different.
[chux] hits the ropes and charges at Minion only to be caught by the throat and tossed to the ground. He rolls clean out of the ring, ending up by the announce tables where he props himself up on both hands and starts to rack his brain for any ideas of how to survive this match. He grabs Phoenix's water and has a drink. Minion leans over the ropes to grab [chux] by the hair, so [chux] hammers him with the water bottle spraying the contents into the air. Minion stumbles backwards but stays on his feet, [chux] quickly climbs up the turnbuckles and comes off the top with a missile dropkick, knocking the big man back into the opposite corner.
Phoenix: And there's the first offensive move by the former four time 4CW champion. I can't believe what I'm seeing here.
[chux] hops up onto the second ropes to deliver some mounted punches to the big man, only getting five in before Minion hoists him up into a powerbomb position, slamming [chux] to the mat and falling into a cover.
One. Two. Kickout.
[chux] is hurting. Minion pulls him up by the hair and scoops him up into a powerslam clutch. One, two, three backbreakers across the knee, then swings the little man out into a reverse DDT headlock, delivering one big hammer fist into the chest to send him down. [chux] is struggling to breathe, crawling slowly to the edge of the ring to escape, but Minion puts a big boot on his back and starts applying pressure.
Jeffrey: This is painful to watch. Even for me!
Phoenix: You want to switch places with him?
Jeffrey: Ok, it's not that painful.
Minion grabs [chux] by the head and pulls him up to his feet, squeezing his head in his huge hands. [chux] fights out with kicks to the leg, chopping away at the big man while hanging on to his wrists. He weakens the grip enough to get out, then backs into the ropes for momentum and charges him with a forearm to the head. It staggers Minion, so he tries again. It works. One more is one too many though, as Minion delivers a boot to the midsection and lifts [chux] up for another powerbomb. [chux] flips right over though, into a sunset flip, but can't pull Minion down.
Phoenix: Well, he always has been a late game player.
Jeffrey: Which means he gets his ass kicked.
Phoenix: Yeah, but he wins in the end!
Jeffrey: He used to win in the end. I'm not sure he's still got it.
Minion pulls [chux] up by the head again, swinging him from his back high up into the air. [chux] apparently sees this coming as he uses the swing to deliver a huge knee strike to Minion's head, landing on his feet as Minion falls to his back.
Phoenix: There it is! You had to believe he had something!
Jeffrey: Don't get carried away, Scott.
[chux] catches his breath, but knows he can't afford to wait too long. He quickly climbs up the turnbuckles and takes a moment to focus. It's been a while since he's tried anything like this.
Phoenix: We've been talking about that match ten years ago! Do you remember how it ended?
Jeffrey: A 450.
Phoenix: Off a fountain! He pinned Minion to win the 4CW championship with a 450.
[chux] takes a deep breath and flips, spins and crashes onto his man with a shaky 450 splash. He struggles to hook a big leg.
One.
Two.
Kick out!
Phoenix: What?! How did he kick out?
Jeffrey: He's improved in the last decade! It's not going to be that easy!
[chux] can't believe it either. He's out of breath and distraught that this isn't over. He has to get back into the game, so he gets to his feet and climbs back up the turnbuckles. Roman and Mullet head over to him for the distraction, but the unlikely save comes from the Cowboys, who are out for the second time tonight to cause havoc. Roman and Mullet Superior fight back against Descent, Virus and Villani for a bit, but are quickly overpowered and laid out at ringside.
Jeffrey: These guys again! Hey Cowboys! Always a pleasure!
Phoenix: Never a pleasure. Why can't they mind their own business?
Jeffrey: Maybe this is their business Scott! Ever think of that?
[chux] is distracted by the brawling, just enough for Minion to recover and knock him off balance. In an uncharacteristic move, Minion climbs up to the second turnbuckle looking for a superplex. He hooks [chux] and lifts him up into a vertical position, but the veteran manages to shuffle out and land back down on the top. He trades blows with the monster, each man taking his turn to nearly fall off. A headbutt shakes both men, but [chux] gets the better of the back and forth, managing to buy enough space to flip over Minion with another sunset flip but for the second time Minion holds on to avoid being powerbombed.
Jeffrey: This guy never learns!
[chux] hangs on to Minion's legs, trying to use all his weight to pull Minion down off the ropes. He even pulls himself up leaving his legs flailing around to get all the pressure he can into the powerbomb, but Minion still holds on. With one last burst of energy, [chux] pulls himself all the way up, hooking his feet under Minion's arms and yanks the big man down off the turnbuckles into a seated sunset flip powerbomb, both men crashing to the canvas.
Phoenix: Oh my!
[chux] is hurting, but slowly crawls into the cover and lays with all of his body weight over Minion's shoulders.
One.
Two.
Three!
Winner: [chux]
Maybe the hardest-fought victory of his career is an unlikely one, one that should have come a lot easier. But pride comes before a fall, and this fall was only narrowly avoided. [chux] is helped to his feet by the referee and has his arm raised, but this night isn't over for him. Valentine has already come down to the ring to confront his opponent.
Valentine: Congratulations. You're now where I was three months ago.
Phoenix: Ha! Mad Dog turning the tables here!
Jeffrey: Oh, that's not funny! Show a little respect!
Phoenix: Well folks, we're only seven days away from the biggest event in our history. Revival X!
Jeffrey: Can you imagine, ten years of 4CW! Amazing. And I don't look a day older.
Phoenix: That's true, Ray. You look a decade older.
Jeffrey: That's not funny either.
Phoenix: We've just seen [chux] prove that he can still compete in 4CW, but his victory tonight didn't come without difficulty and the difficulty level is only going to get higher as he takes on Jack "Mad Dog" Valentine.
Jeffrey: These two men were on the first ever episode on Storm Front, and they're still here today. This is the embodiment of 4CW history.
Phoenix: Speaking of history, another historic debate will be settled as three of 4CW's premier factions will go head to head to determine which can claim to be the most dominant. Will it be New Redemption, will it be High Society, or will it be the Cowboys From Hell?
Jeffrey: It'll be the Cowboys. Or High Society. Or...no, it'll be the Cowboys. I think.
Phoenix: That will be the team of Descent, Virus and Jakob Villani, who are without their leader, Steven Penance, because Penance has made it to the final round of the sole survivor tournament.
Jeffrey: That's right. "The Icon" Mark Redman brought back the sole survivor tournament this year with the hopes of landing himself a custom championship. He was knocked out, leaving us with Steven Penance and...Renfield?! This has to be a joke.
Phoenix: No joke, Ray! Redman was eliminated from the sole survivor, but he's found himself in another title match instead! Both Redman and Smoke have been vying for a universal championship shot lately, and at Revival X they go one on one for the prestigious belt.
Jeffrey: Finally "The Icon" wins his gold.
Phoenix: We saw earlier tonight that the RockStarrs have been threatened by an entity known only as Afterlife. Judgement is coming, but in what form?
Jeffrey: I don't know what to expect, but I don't like it. I'm not sure there's enough time between now and Revival for me to confess all my sins!
Phoenix: Also in tag action, the current 4CW tag champions the Unnatural Predators may not make it to Revival as they were attacked by NME two weeks ago. NME have been added to the title match making it a three way, but will the champions be cleared in time? If not, NME gets a shot at the vacant titles against the true, deserving contenders, the Skill Set.
Jeffrey: Deserving? Who is more deserving than the guys who laid the champions out? NME are going all the way!
Phoenix: Also in three-way action, the 4CW womens championship will be on the line as champion Lorelei Spice looks to extend her 17 month reign, but both Jenna Divyne and Marie Dubois are looking to make a little history of their own.
Jeffrey: I don't know who is winning this one, but I know I'll feel like a winner. I just love watching those girls fight!
Phoenix: The new 4CW owner Chris "Belly" Marks has named himself the Everlast champion in the latest chapter of his intense rivalry with Chris Drake. The Everlast title is the only prize Drake is yet to win, can he complete his trophy cabinet on Sunday?
Jeffrey: No! Belly is the boss! You don't beat the boss on the biggest night of the year. Belly's gonna get you, Scott!
Phoenix: JJ Blaze is back once again, and he's found himself involved with Carstein's stable. He goes one on one with Rhysus' brother, Zephyris.
Jeffrey: A mini-preview of the main event?
Phoenix: Well, we're talking all about history lately, and history could be made in one week. Carstein, lord of the night, has a chance to become the 4CW champion as he takes on "The Bruiser" Rhysus.
Jeffrey: I can sense it, Scott, change is coming. Carstein is in Rhysus' head!
Phoenix: That's the run down for Revival X folks! We hope you'll join us in one week's time on pay per view. Tonight, we end things off with the contract signing for the main event. Ray says Carstein is in Rhysus' head, I guess we're about to find out! Over to you, Hugh Knowles.
We throw to the middle of the ring where much like last week there is a table, two chairs and Hugh Knowles with a microphone and a clipboard in his hand. The table has two mics and a pen on it. Surrounding Hugh Knowles are two referees and a dozen members of security, including two who look at least 300lbs.
Hugh Knowles: Ladies and Gentlemen, behold, for the second week in a row, 4CW is going to bring you what it always does: the most hard-hitting Contract Signing since ... well, Chux vs Valentine from last week. Here we go, the Revival X Main Event, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the current reigning and defending 4CW Heavyweight Champion, "The Bruiser" Rhysus!!
'Narcissistic Cannibal' by Korn hits the PA system. The crowd have been mixed with Rhysus the last few months, sometimes booing, sometimes cheering, but the most hardcore of Rhysus' fan base proved themselves strong on this show as he got a very loud pop when he came out on stage. With the title over his left shoulder, Rhysus makes his way down to the ring and slides in. He's not doing his usual in-ring taunts, to try and show the seriousness of this segment.
Rhysus doesn't sit down, and Hugh Knowles decides not to ask him to, instead moving on with...
Hugh Knowles: And his opponent at Revival, the number one contender, "The Lord of the Night", Carstein!!
'Lords of Salem' floods the arena and the crowd produce the loudest heat all night for the top heel in the company. The red mist quickly surrounds the whole stage and ramp area. Carstein comes to the ring alone and makes his way down to the ring slowly, letting Rhysus stew in his own tension as Carstein makes his way on to the apron and into the ring. Carstein, unlike Rhysus, does sit down. He pulls his seat back and takes his time getting comfortable in the seat before grabbing the microphone. The security surrounding Knowles repositions themselves so they can get to Rhysus and Carstein if the situation becomes volatile quickly.
Hugh Knowles: Rhysus, Carstein, it's clear you both have something to say. Here's the chance to say it. Sign this contract and the match will be official. No going back. I've got security here but they'll cost me double if you actually get physical so try and save me some money here, eh?
Hugh Knowles tries to laugh but he sees Rhysus and Carstein's deadpan reactions and decides to move out of the situation and leave the ring, leaving the security there. He waits outside the ring as Rhysus takes the microphone, still not sitting down and starts speaking.
Rhysus: There's not a lot I need to say that I haven't already said. We both know why we're here and why this match is happening. See, it all started at last year's Revival, and I'm sure you all remember it. I was in the Battle Royal for the 4CW Custom Cup Championship and Carstein took me on and lost, as I threw him out and eliminating him. He didn't like that. Had a tantrum and came into the ring, eliminating me and my chances of becoming the new Custom Cup Champion.
Then you just wouldn't stop, Carstein. You tried everything you could to get under my skin. The one thing I've never figured out is what this is really all about. Are you just a psychotic mess? Or is it something more general, a simple case of jealousy? I won this championship by putting everything I am on the line. This title on my shoulder is what brought me to 4CW. I saw its amazing history, I watched in the years before I signed here as wrestler after wrestler solidified their legacies. People like Chux McCool, Eddie Wolfbaine, Clyde Bonham, Cocozo... and I wanted to be a part of that. After four years in this company and the longest 4CW Custom Cup reign in history, I finally made it to the top of the mountain at Gallows End and became the guy who is the face of this company - but you couldn't just let me have my moment. No, you had to make it about Carstein.
But that didn't matter. I could deal with you. Massacre came round and I found out about a minute before the match I was defending my title against Belly. I'll admit it was one of the toughest matches of my career but I came out on top, despite the fact that you came out and got involved in my moment again. It's funny how you continually make a career out of ruining the moments of other people's careers, Carstein, almost to distract people from the fact that despite the many years you've given this company you are still nothing more than a glorified midcarder.
Carstein’s nostrils flare slightly, and the corner of his mouth has the slightest of twitches, before he regains his composure.
Rhysus: You've never won the 4CW Heavyweight Championship, Carstein, and you know what? You may have kidnapped the mother of my child and terrified my daughter and even attacked my brother and you may have gotten into my head on countless occasions but despite all that, you've still NEVER held this 4CW Heavyweight Championship. And that means that I will always be better than you, Carstein. Doesn't that just piss you off?
Rhysus is tense, a vein almost popping in his neck at this point, trying his utmost to get under the skin of Carstein. Whether it works or not is difficult to tell as Carstein doesn't change his facial expression. He just grabs the microphone and looks at Rhysus. The Bruiser breathes heavily, waiting to hear Carstein’s response. But Carstein just sits and stares at Rhysus, his cold grey unblinking eyes piercing Rhysus, reading his mind and soul. It unnerves the Champ slightly.
Rhysus: Answer me!
Carstein smiles slightly, and calmly speaks.
Carstein: When you first made your debut here in 4CW Rhys, I was intrigued. I heard about you from the indies, about this fearsome Welsh warrior. A man who doesn’t take any prisoners, shows no mercy. They called him the Bruiser.
Then 4CW announced they had signed you to a contract. Oh good, I thought, I could see if the rumours were true. Then I watched when you made your debut. I watched as you tore your way through the 4CW roster. I watched as you unleashed hell in the War match. I watched as you became the 4CW Custom Cup Champion, and held that belt longer than anyone else in this company’s history. I watched as you destroyed and retired Rasheed Evans.
Then it dawned on me then that you were a threat. You were a threat to me Rhysus.
Carstein points at Hugh Knowles.
Carstein: You were a threat to him.
Carstein points at the entrance way, signalling the backstage.
Carstein: You were a threat to the boys in the back.
Carstein points at the crowd.
Carstein: You were a threat to them.
And finally, Carstein points up at the 4CW logo hanging above the ring.
Carstein: And you were a threat to this company. You are volatile and unpredictable, a volcano waiting to explode. It was only a matter of time before you lost control completely and killed someone. You almost killed Rasheed Evans as it was.
It was then I realised that I had to end you. This wasn’t an act of self-preservation. I had to do it for the greater good of this company. But it wasn’t enough to just get rid of you. I had to show everyone how unstable you are. I needed that mask you created, that mask showing that you’re a decent, kind-hearted man, to slip. Only then would everyone understand. Only then would everyone realise.
And I did that, Rhys, I did that. I got under your skin, pushed off that mask and I showed the world the real you. And now everyone can see you for what you are. The fans don’t trust you. The rest of the roster doesn’t trust you. Your own family doesn’t trust you. You know I speak the truth Rhysus. Look at your brother. He twitches every time you look at him. And your girlfriend? She might look calm and composed but you can look into her eyes and see that really she is screaming in terror at the sight of you.
Rhysus smirks, then interrupts Carstein.
Rhysus: You see, Carstein, it doesn't matter what you say now. You've done your worst. You tortured my family mentally and you made me question myself but now that all that is done all that's left is the truth. And the truth is all you've done to lead you to this moment will mean NOTHING if you can't beat me at Revival. If you can't beat me at Revival, the last year of your life has been wasted on a thankless journey - and my career? Will have soared. Since you decided you had a problem with me, I've won the biggest championship in Professional Wrestling and you think I'm the man who's in trouble? Revival to me is an important title defense, no doubt, and a chance to put away one of my arch rivals. It screams money for the company and it screams credibility for my title reign - but to you? Revival is the be all and end all, Revival is your last chance to be relevant because if you don't beat me at Revival, you will never be taken seriously again. You have more to lose than me, Carstein, and the funniest thing is, you've brought it all on yourself. This was all you. I didn't want to show everyone just how unable you are to take the crown jewel of this company but you just wouldn't leave me alone so congratulations, Carstein, you've finally got what you wanted. A match, one on one, against me, for the 4CW World Championship... you're right, Carstein, I am dangerous. And I'm going to prove to you just how dangerous I am in our match - which will be contested under Swansea Death Match rules!!
Rhysus grabs the contract and signs it, with a massive pop from the crowd at this late announcement, before passing the contract and the pen to Carstein.
Rhysus: You've just been rewarded two things with that contract being signed - one, the match you need to win to make the many years of your career to mean something and two, the opponent who's gonna make sure that will never happen. And after Revival, when I beat you, no questions asked, and you have nothing left to fight for, I'll gladly kick you out of the ring and back to the gutters where you belong.
Carstein: Whatever happens at Revival Rhysus, I win. The only way you can beat me is by succumbing to the darkness within you, releasing that monster. Either I become the new 4CW World Heavyweight Champion, or I destroy you once and for all. You cannot win.
Rhysus smiles and shakes his head.
Carstein: 4CW will be saved. And once it is, I can save your family Rhysus, by freeing them and taking them from you -
Before Carstein can say another word, Rhysus suddenly dives over the announce table, crashing into Carstein and throwing lefts after rights. The security jump in and pull the two apart within seconds. Carstein gets back to his feet and laughs manically, while Rhysus breaks free of security and dives at the Vampire Warrior again, tackling him for a second time and pummelling him with fists.
Phoenix: ALL HELL IS BREAKING LOOSE!! The Bruiser and The Lord of the Night are going at it!!
Another load security guards run down to the ring and restrain the two superstars again. Hugh Knowles runs back into the ring and even without a mic he can clear be heard screaming: "ENOUGH! ENOUGH, DAMMIT!" as the show comes to a combustive end, Rhysus and Carstein being held back by the refs and the security guards and on the verge of armageddon.
