Gonna watch random matches from years passed. Mostly WWE and some old school TNA. I'll review each match and rate it out of five stars.

I Quit - Matt Hardy vs Jeff Hardy
Backlash 2009

In the build up to this match, Matt Hardy set fire to Jeff's house and killed the love of his life... his dog. Michael Cole's words, not mine.

For an I Quit match it was disappointing.  The two brawled well but there was no real weapon use until the finish where Jeff taped Matt to a table and forced him to quit by threatening a Swantom bomb off a ladder. Matt quit, then Jeff delivered a double leg drop from halfway up the ladder which didn't really have the same effect. As a standard match, it was pretty good. As an I Quit match, it was missing the brutality the stipulation promised.
Match Rating: **1/2

Think I'm going to find some 2003 TNA next.

The Gathering (Raven, CM Punk and Julio Dinero) vs Abyss & Redshirt Security (Joe E Legend and Kevin Northcutt)
NWA TNA PPV #73

I love 2003 TNA.  Watching this brought back a ton of memories.  Raven wants Jeff Jarrett and the TNA title but first he needs to get through Abyss and the Redshirts so he brings back the Gathering for "one night only".

The match itself was shorter thab I'd have liked. Somewhere in the 7-8 minutes region but everyone got a chance to work part of the match and even with the screwy finish with a steel chair coming into play and Abyss getting the pin on Raven,  it was a really entertaining match. Abyss used to own the monster heel role.
Match Rating: ***

Punjabi Prison for the World Heavyweight Championship
Batista (c) vs Great Khali
No Mercy 2007

First of all, Great Khali was alot better in 2007 than now. He was actually moving around alot better and climbed both Punjabi structures.  Batista carried the match with his big move spots while Khali played his role well. He stuck to what he was good at and hid his weaknesses well.

Saying that,  the match was pretty boring. Leather strap was about as hardcore as it got and we never saw any wrestling outside the ring. Would have been cool if Batista and Khali brawled outside the ring before climbing the second structure.
Match Rating: **

Falls Count Anywhere
Samoa Joe vs Rhyno vs Monty Brown
Hard Justice 2006

Samoa Joe is 14 months undefeated for this match. Rhyno is as badass as ever and Monty Brown is great too.

The Falls Count Anywhere makes this match. These three know how to pull off a great three way match. Non stop action from all three guys, chairs and dustbin lids flying everywhere and Samoa Joe puts Brown through a table with a great STO to get the win and stay undefeated.

The crowd were all over this match. This is awesome chants. Holy shit chants. Really made this match feel special. Overall this match was fifteen minutes of edge of your seat action.
Match Rating: ****
