He's not gone just yet, only taking time off. But yeah, his contract is up in the Summer so if they can't start treating him like a top guy soon, he's as good as gone. It's insane that they'll push Batista part time instead of Punk.

Yeah can understand his frustrations with that. Pushing people like Batista straight into the main event of Mannia isn't a great move considering he's done nothing for them since he left 4 years ago. It's not like he even has the draw or stardom of the Rock. He definitely shouldn't be pushed ahead of guys like Punk.
Punk is awesome. He rejuvenated WWE when it was in dire need of something fresh. Punk is in his prime right now and he really deserves more than yet another program with Kane.
I hope he doesn't go. It would be a huge blow to WWE.

I get the impression he isnt motivated by money, so this could see him return to ring of honour, which zmight not be a bad thing. Or he could turn up at tna, and be their stone cold?
There's a possibility of an injury playing into this too. He was laid out for a long section of the Rumble and a lot of the testing, especially for concussions, is done before the show on Monday. It looks like the Kane feud is basically filler because he's not signing an extension, they don't want to feature him as a main guy because he might be gone, but it looks like that's only pushing him out even faster.
With any luck this will be a semi-work and he'll be back before too long. They're already making a storyline out of the Bryan "crowd hijacking" trend.

If he's really gone, Bryan should ask (demand) for a shitload more money.

I think he wouldn't do anything for a while. I've seen some recent interviews, and he's burned out. He should sit out a year and win the rumble next year as the surprise entrant. That seems to be the hip thing to do these days when you don't like how your character is being handled. Maybe do a movie, come back rusty, and go right to the main event.
Shitty on both sides, I think

Exactly! That's like looking at the inside of my brain
Obviously there are now people wanting Punk to go back to Ring of Honour. We could end up with a dream match of CM Punk vs AJ Styles... now that would be absolutely amazing.
That match happened ten years ago
Punk in ROH would be terrible. ROH has been the shits for years because its run by corporate clueless idiots who have regressed the promotion. Wasting a talent like Punk on small shows, instead of being on a Wrestlemania card would be a travesty.

Well, definitely seems to be some confusion about Punks status at the moment. According to Vince McMahon he's taking time off. According to the British Wrestling Council, he's left WWE and there are MMA fighters looking for a match with him. He's certainly been to a recent UFC event so could that be a possibility?
4CW Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Triple Crown Champion 2020. 2 times Universal, 2 times Tag team and 1 Time World Heavyweight Champion.
Wrestler of the Year 2017, Champion of the Year 2017, Most Improved 2017
I bet he's just doing this so fans chant his name at shows, judging by what I read about his character he seems like the type that's wanking to this at home right now.

The BWC is Alex Shane's opinion. If you believe what he says, go and get your head tested. You can't leave and go do something else. Punk's in the same position Austin was in 2002. Walked out, still under contract but not getting paid.

I think Punk 'leaving' is a bit of genius, on WWE's part. The build up to Wrestlemania heavily features Lesnar, Undertaker, HHH, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and Batista. Then there is focus on The Shield, the Wyatts and Cena.
Having Punk 'leave' allows for something fresh to come into play around the period where WWE usually has a lull period (May to July), dressing it up as Punk leaving the company is a storyline I think, setting up Punk v. Batista for Summerslam.
I don't think it's a work in the slightest, but I also don't think Punk is really gone. He's burned out, or whatever. He'll have a little break and Vince will bring him back. Vince isn't stupid. He knows Punk is one of his biggest stars. Whether it's before or after Mania remains to be seen. I could still see Punk returning the night after Mania.

Dave Meltzer is apparently reporting that Punk is going to be at RAW tomorrow night from Chicago

I've seen a few reports since getting home from work that CM Punk has quit WWE. If that's true it's a big blow. Easily one of their best performers, I'd say in their top 3 for mic work and in ring work.
