Main Event

Well I didn't post up my Raw thoughts last week, as the quality of the show was meh! and didn't require much thinking about, so we will see how it goes this week... I am not holding my breath.

D-Bry vs Wade Barrett, this is a logical match after last week, surprised to see Brad Maddox interject himself into the match, although he definitely suit a referee shirt better than a suit. Not surprised to see Maddox do something to cost D-Bry the match though.

Sandow vs Orton and it seems every match we see on Smackdown, we get to see again on Raw, is there any point in watching Smackdown now it is a dress rehearsal for Raw?? Was a good match, and I am hoping that this feud with Sandow and Rhodes doesn't end at Summerslam.

Kahli and Natty vs Big E and AJ, this is going to end by an interference by Kaitlyn and Ziggler somehow no doubt to set up there eventual tag match at Summerslam, still forcing Kaitlyn down our throats... I am glad the match was mainly between Natty and AJ though.. Even though the ending was totally screwed up and they had to redo it lol Surprised AJ lost clean kinda to Natty though, surely that gives Natalia reason to want a title match and not Kaitlyn...  Kahli clearing Big E... Really? no Ziggler and Kaitlyn either... Seems this whole match was a car wreck at the end.

So here comes vince and true to form, we get a reply of what happened 50 minutes ago... and BRad comes out still in a referee top, 45 minutes after his duties finished surely a GM would have dressed the part by now... This was a painful segment, all it was missing is Vinces hand up the ass of Brad Maddox, and it dragged on sooo long, it was saved however by Trips, I guess he playing the good guy in this lil power struggle, although I can see that changing, probbaly by costing D-Bry the title... but we will see.

Kane vs Titus Oneil is just the forplay waiting for Bray Wyatt to come out, then he doesnt disappoint and there he is, ready to win this sunday as Kane goes to film his new movie.

Now we get a heel ADR against Kofi Kingston, I guess he has come back to job and it doesnt disappoint, surely this change of direction for ADR means he will retain against Christian or it kinda puts an instant stop to his attitude change after only 2 weeks.

Thats the half way point of the show, its been painful so far.

Real Americans (1 of whom isnt American) vs Uso's hopefully Real-ish Americans will win, but I guess this will show how hard they are trying to push the Uso's... Well once again, a shortish match and the Uso's win, I guess they are really trying to make them seem like legitimate contenders, either that or WWE just wanna bury Zeb, Swagger and Cesaro

Miz TV is next, John Cena doing his usual things, being boring as always and un original (as he claimed D-Bry was being) This was a big Love fest of a seg...Until D-Bry got on the mic, encouraged us all not to watch Tv and gave Cena, for lack of a better word a pipebomb and played to the IWC  then Cena gets on the mic and tries to turn it into a Love fest again... Cena keeps mentionning Hostile enviroments and I have a sudden urge to go watch One Night Stand again and see the ECW crowd pass back his tshirt etc hahaha... The seg actually ended well before Trips came out, I liked D-Bry on the mic, Cena was boring, but D-Bry playing on Cena not being ona  wrestler and refusing to slap him, i liked it... Thing we learned here.. Less Cena, more D-Bry....

Summer Rae is out here next and she has brought her male valet with her... he once again ran away from the match...  his character bores me more and more... Summer Rae needs a new valet.

They try and push Ryback saying he has been throwing his weight around, but has he really? I mean he got beat by Cena a few weeks ago, so all we know is that he can beat up small guys but isnt a main eventer... But here we go with the Battle Royal and they are obviously killing time, as instead of having everyone start in the ring, they have entrances which takes up the time between 2 commercial breaks...  I guess Dean Ambrose won the US Title at an impromptu unexpected match and now they are crowning a number 1 contender the week before summerslam, either its an easy win for Ambrose, or The Shield push really has stopped and there will be a new champion.  Ryback eliminated and it between RVD and Henry and it is RVD who wins, so i guess they have stopped the Shield vs Henry idea and instead will either give RVD a title for coming back to WWE or will help Ambrose get over a bit more.

Speak to soon, here comes The Shield and Henry shows respect to RVd and then stays when Shield come down.. a face turn for Henry? This cant be good for him, as he was never a good face, always an excellent heel though. Big Show returns and is looking pretty good, Guess Show and Henry will be faces now? Id have preferred a Heel team, but at least they haven't just dumped Henry's storyline.

Heyman come out, and are we supposed to believe that Heyman will really fight punk haha, at least Heyman doesn't pretend that it isn't a trap and Punk doesn't pretend that he thought it was a real fight.. Bit of reality never hurts.... Punk plays the hero though and gets the better of Brock... Pun looked like he was limping though, he still injured??  Punk ends the show on a high, but kept thinking it was Tommy Dreamer by what he was wearing haha.

I don't want to sound like a Cena-basher, cuz, despite what most say, he's actually a pretty good wrestler... but, man, he needs SOMETHING... his promos are ALL the same.

'1/2 you hate me, 1/2 you like me, hustle, loyalty, respect, make-a-wish, i beat everyone, i'm the best, you underestimate me (take off shirt, get ready for a fight), make a wish, i love wwe, i love my fans, i'm gonna woop your ass, I'm 11x champ, make a wish, if you lose, you'll know that I'm better than you.' --- every week.

When he was 'coming up' moving on from US champ to World champ level, he had good promos, good matches, good energy, and didn't repeat himself every week. Oh well.

Also, i STILL don't know what 'you can't see me' means.

a lot of cenas problem is the his character is work too well for too long now he is stuck and can't get out of this rut without hurting his overall appeal outside of WWE. however if he loves WWE as much as he says he does he would change it up and go heel. the only thing I see hurting is make a wish his merchandise sales would probably go up from the vocal males in the crowd buying new heel gear. unfortunately I don't see them ever pulling the trigger on a turn for him get use to super cena because he isn't going anywhere.

Better than Essa

The promo was decent, I can't say it sucked, but there were a couple of things I really hated about it. Firstly how Cena had to smirk all through the first truly serious Bryan promo in months, maybe years. He couldn't just listen? He had to have that smug look like Bryan was being a whiny child.

And then, like you said, all the Make A Wish stuff. What he does is great, but the more he talks about it the less it means. Charity isn't charity if you tell everyone about it. Either you do something because you want to or you do something because you want to look like a great person, Cena's the latter. He may as well have just said "I'm so awesome, cheer me because I do these amazing things that none of you do. Love me like I love myself." It basically amounts to cheering Cena or cheering cancer.

If he'd cut that out and left it at that list of guys he's beaten, saying Bryan isn't on that level and then had Bryan do the thing about not being a wrestler and not deserving the slap, that would have been an awesome promo.

Oh, and then Triple H coming down to do absolutely nothing was hilarious. He was there purely for the visual, so they have a frame to use in the video package.

Cena not being able to turn heel ever is beyond fucking lame. I get it but its one of the many reasons the product we have today blows.

This is 100% going to be Triple H turning on Daniel Bryan after he wins the title by making Cena submit. I think they will actually put over Daniel Bryan in the biggest way possible by having him make Cena submit clean in the middle of the ring only to flush it right down the toilet by having Triple H then pedigree Bryan allowing Orton to cash in the briefcase and form a new corporation. If there's one thing that's more important than creating a new megastar who is over with absolutely everyone, it's making sure that Triple H and Randy Orton end the show on top in some capacity.

This is exactly what I thought was going to happen. Maybe not the new corporation deal but Bryan gets put over in the biggest way possible and Orton wins as a heel. History most often proves that when a face is pushed hard to the title, they tend to be stale once they get the belt. Chris Benoit is a classic case. The chase is more intriguing than the actual goal. Having Bryan accomplish his lifelong goal only to have the evil HHH screw him out of it will allow for the classic, top face vs. heel authority figure storyline that has existed for the last 15 years with success. Having Bryan overcome the odds that HHH puts on him and I would assume that if this happens, Bryan will win the Royal Rumble and win the belt back at Mania.

As long as Bryan win the belt back (he deserves a proper run) then I'd be happy for that to happen.

Right. As long as the end result is a good run for Bryan as the WWE Champion, I don't really care as long as we get there and he looks strong.

I rest my case.
