James Cameron is a legend, but Avitar blew and needs to go away.
Don't know what you're talking about Hilds, Avatar was a great film. Whether the sequels live up to it, we'll soon find out but I have high hopes.

I have high hopes that Cameron will, once again, slaughter the american government about taking other countries natural resources and using them for themselves.
He has just added the fourth film, so one of the humans can give away all the secrets of the humans to a avatar-leaks website and then another human will reveal that earth has been collecting all the data from the avatar home world illegally and then he will seek asylum on the avatar home planet etc

Avatar was such a gimmicky film it's ridiculous. I was only successful because of the visuals and the fact the Cameron was trying to bring 3D back, which helped sell a lot. Now that 3D has pretty much flopped I don't see these films being as succesful as the first one.
I watched it about a year after it came out and I'm glad I didn't waste the money to watch it in a theater. It was an overpriced cgi fest. It wasn't shit but it wasn't the greatest movie ever either. James Cameron lost my respect when he made Titanic. He needs to go away and take his over hyped love stories with him. He hasn't made a good movie since 1991.
Only watched it a little over a year ago when it was on TV. I'd seen Fern Gully, I really didn't need to see it again.
How could he add anymore to this story? Visually stunning and made advancements into CGI that T2 started and The Matrix followed up on. But as a movie it was awful. I can't see sitting through 10 more hours of Avatar.
I am a HUGE sci fi fan, but, imo, this movie was awful. UNOBTANIUM? wow. just... wow.
Never even made the Fern Gully connection (don't think I remember seeing it, it was s long ago.) LOL doesn't describe how hard i laughed at that.
Honestly, tho, most sci is is shit. Sharktopus? Ghost Shark? Sharknado? --- and that's just SHARK-RELATED suckness.
Great Scifi like Serenity, Bladerunner and Pitch Black are too few and far between.

Avatar imo was total shit.
I don't care at all about this becoming a series.
FOX Studios have announced that Avatar will begin filming in 2014 and that there will be 3 sequels, released in 2016, 2017 & 2018
James Cameron had said in 2010 that there would be 2 sequels and he began writing the story etc, but has now said that 2 films was not enough to tell the story he wanted to, so now we are getting 3 films.
