Top 5 favourite bands

Really hard to narrow it down to just five. I'm always changing my mind on the bands I listen to most. My favourite is without doubt Killswitch Engage but the other four are just "in no particular order":

1. Killswitch Engage
2. The Script
3. Paramore
4. Coldplay
5. Breaking Benjamin

1. Say Anything
2. Taking Back Sunday
3. Motion City Soundtrack
4. John Mayer Trio (Really just John Mayer his non-radio stuff)
5. Mindless Self Indulgence

Shit, tough one...I know who my top two favorite bands are, but from there it gets a bit convoluted. Narrowing it down to five is pretty much impossible, so let's see if I can do it in 10 or 15 (in no particular order after 1 and 2):

1) Led Zeppelin
2) Iron Maiden
Black Sabbath (most eras)
Pink Floyd
Dream Theater
Any of Steven Wilson's multiple projects
Anathema (particularly the latter era)
Nine Inch Nails
Tool
Megadeth (despite the existence of Risk and their latest turd sandwich of an album)
Metallica, up to and including The Black Album (although I'm sick to death of that particular release)
Opeth
Mostly Autumn
Rush
Ayreon
The Gathering

That's why I figured 5 would do it. I could name 2 easily but really had to think narrowing down the other 3 as there was a good few contenders.

I've tried throughout the years, I really have, to narrow down the field, but I just can't. Different bands mean different things to me, and, I dunno, it's sort of like trying to pick your favorite children numerically 😄. I could name my top albums ever though, strangely enough, although the list is fucking huge!

Ooh, top 5 albums. That'd be easier, and shockingly my favourite album isn't by a band in my top 5.

Yeah, a top albums ever thread would be sweet. However, in my typical overblown manner I'd have to expand it somewhat past 5 😉

I was going into my house today before some Irish guy stopped me from going in, he asked me how long I have been living here and I told him. He said that one guy from Iron Maiden used to live in my house, I can't remember the name he said and I'm not really a fan but I thought it owuld be cool for someone who was.

Hmm, top five bands.... Well for a gigging musician, this is practically impossible as my musical tastes and bands I listen too change on a reasonably regular basis, but I guess the music that has influenced me most is;

With honourable mentions going to Genesis, Rush, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath and Electric Light Orchestra, but this is really just scratching the surface for me.  And I haven't even mentioned the religious music that I listen too...
