How It Ends on Netflix. Was okay, but would have been so much better if they'd actually said how it ends. It's spoilers, but fuck it, I'm not recommending it. The film just ends without giving answers. Answers that could have saved the film... Because it's not good finishing the film and having that many questions about what the hell had caused America to go all tits up. You have the drunk conspiracies of one guy and that's it. Maybe they were the reason? Who the fuck knows! I've seen quite a few people saying the same thing as well after I watched it which was good. So personally don't waste your time. It has potential, but failed.

Off to watch Mission Impossible Fallout this evening which according to reviews is simply amazing... So will hopefully be able to give a good review afterwards to counteract the one above.

Watched Train to Busan last night. Great, great movie. It actually made me care about the people and not root for horror and chaos like I normally do. IMO, it does to zombie movies what Let The Right One In did to vampire movies.

I fucking love Train to Busan. I recommend that to anyone who likes horror; zombies; and, if they don't mind gore, a good story.

Another great Korean film I've watched fairly recently is The Tunnel, from 2016. A bit like the US film Buried, but waaay better.

Mission Impossible Fallout is pretty dam good. I'd say 9/10 for enjoyability. Tough to talk about wihhout spoiling, but it's recommended, especially if you've seen the previous films.

Incredibles 2. Great film. Probably better than the original. 9/10.

Marriage Story: Fantastic drama, great performances from Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson. 9/10
Frozen 2: It was pretty good, but the first one was probably better. 7/10
The Irishman: Long, gruelling but enthralling film. De Niro, Pesci, Pacino, you couldn't ask for a better cast for a gangster movie. 8/10
Uncut Gems: Straight thriller/drama starring Adam Sandler in his best performance. Ever. It's not even close. 9/10

Tusk......was looking for a horror movie. Holy shit what a strange ass movie. Kevin Smith directed. Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, and evening Johnny Depp with a cameo and you could almost miss that it was him.

I won’t get into. It’s super weird. But still almost worth the view. 6/10

I feel like this thread is going to get a lot of posts in the coming weeks.

Inglorious Basterds
Yes, it took me this long to watch it. Great Tarantino flick. About what you can expect from Tarantino but I like him so that works for me. 8/10

Toy Story 4
Loved it, a great send-off for the series. 8/10

Ralph Breaks The Internet
Loved the first one, and this is a great sequel to Wreck-It Ralph. 9/10

It's been a while since I watched a new movie... The last one I can say I watched (partly) was Pacific Rim Uprising, though I came in halfway through. Whilst the fight scenes were ok, I really felt that the film was taking itself far too seriously and so lost some of the fun and charm of the first, not to mention the aesthetic that Guilermo Del Torro brought, that was really missed in the second... I also feel they forgot ir, more likely ignored some of the established lore from the first film, which was a shame. Could've been a great fun and silly film, instead they tried to make a Hollywood blockbuster, so of course it flopped! Still, if you like monster/kaiju flicks, it's worth checking out, just keep a ready supply of alcohol on hand and it'll be fine! 4/10

Coco: Another great Pixar movie, they hit it out of the park often. Liked the themes and the plot. 8/10

Last film I watched was Vice and it was... kind of average. I guess I expected more from Adam McKay and after really enjoying The Big Short this movie felt like it was going in a ton of different directions but never really felt like a satisfying story. Christian Bale is solid playing Dick Cheney and the makeup effects are neat but that's pretty much the highlight of the movie.  There's so much content to pull from an evil person like him and they try to make him look sympathetic at certain points.  Cinematography is decent but I expected more... 5/10

How Do You Know

A 2010 romcom starring Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson.

It was fine. Nothing to write home about. Solid 6/10.

But it didn't follow all the same, tired tropes that EVERY romcom movie does (it followed SOME of the same, tired tropes, but not all of them) so that was something, I guess.

Oppenheimer. Absolutely superb. Amazing sound design, fantastic cast, gripping biopic.  Good stuff all around.
