Vince McMahon retires, new CEOs announced
Vince has been a naughty boy apparently.
WWE founder and CEO Vince McMahon has “voluntarily stepped back” from his roles as CEO and chairman of the sports entertainment powerhouse amid an “investigation into alleged misconduct” by him and John Laurinaitis, head of talent relations.
“McMahon will retain his role and responsibilities related to WWE’s creative content during this period and remains committed to cooperating with the review underway,” the company said. A special committee of the board is handling the probe. It has appointed McMahon’s daughter Stephanie to serve as interim CEO and interim chairwoman, WWE also said on Friday.
It's down to allegations that Vince has paid off a load of hush money to women that whom he had sexual relations whilst employed by WWE. The board was contacted by someone who knew an employee who left the company earlier this year and who received a $3 million payment.
Is anyone surprised? I thought it was well known that he slept with people in WWE... but apparently not. Guess they were just rumours until someones been able to potentially prove it.

Main Event · 731 commentsHonestly, I'm more surprised that it didn't happen a lot sooner! Considering the skits he was involved with in the early naughties, the story lines he conceived, it genuinely felt like all he was interested in was money and women. The man's an absolute creep.

Admin · 3,242 commentsI was half expecting him to retire... that's probably the best outcome for WWE as a brand. Reminds me of my old job where it was made clear to someone that if they don't resign and leave now then the resulting investigation will ruin their career completely because they had more than enough evidence. Should have sacked them and filed their report with the police... but whatever. The company decided it was best all around if they just left. So yeah... my takeaway from this is that they must have enough evidence to be pretty damning and the best outcome is if he just leaves.

Main Event · 977 commentsStinks of retire or drag the company through the mud. It's about time he let someone else run the company anyway. I actually think it'd be in safe hands with Triple H.

Mid Card · 151 commentsIt's pretty cool that he got that Wrestlemania match in before this went down. I know the matches with Austin and Austin and the other guy sucked, but oh boy were they fun to watch. Some football dude beats Austin Theory clean but can't kick out of Vince McMahon kicking a football into his tummy lol
Well Vince, you fucked over lots of innocent lives in your time, and you are the definition of evil selfish billionaire filth, but without you wrestling wouldn't be 1% of what it has become. So hey, take the extremely good with the extremely bad I guess.
