This is just what it says on the tin. Wholesome videos that make you feel all warm inside. I'll be starting this out with a random assortment of personally selected content that has served me well. Feel free to share your own favourites, too!

Nostalgia Critic's "Nostalgic Commercials" (comedic; nostalgic)
Compilation of the 1st special right through to the 8th, plus an Xmas commercials special

A playlist with all individual episodes so far, plus the Xmas stuff and the compilation I already linked above

The Godmother of Drumming Plays "Down with the Sickness" (cool; musical)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wkCsnFRuwg

YouTuber and multi-instrumentalist Rob Scallon is taught to play a traditional Chinese stringed instrument called the koto by a master player (chill; musical)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K6KpkFXKdM

James Rolfe [best known as Angry Video Game Nerd] hosts a TMNT pizza taste test gathering (silly; chill; nostalgic)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88Iskmh4Fgg

James Rolfe shows off and talks about his VHS/LaserDisc/DVD collection in a basement space made to look like an old video store (chill; nostalgic)

Regarding the Rob Scallon vid, you should add "and Rob Scallon teaches Koto master a bit of guitar, and then they jam!" That vid is a beautiful show of how music transcends language and culture. That vid is amazing!

And gotta love the drumming grandma!

You said it all about the Rob Scallon vid. A cross-cultural, cross-generational testament of music's unstoppable power to bring people together.

Gonna add Li Ziqi's YouTube channel here, her videos are ridiculously well-produced and film-like, with incredible sound design... and it's all for a simple, rustic, traditional Chinese cooking channel. Very relaxing, in my opinion, and she's garnered quite the fan base. Vids average at 7 to 10 minutes, I think.

The first Li Ziqi vid I ever watched

Also, dunno if I'd call it "wholesome", per se, but certainly lots of fun and laughter to be had: Ryan George always cheers me up, especially his Pitch Meetings and The First Guy series of ~5min scripted comedy bits. He acts all the parts out himself and uses clever editing to create the feel of natural conversational editing.

The First Guy (playlist; default order is newest to oldest)

The most adorable and wholesome lofi hiphop remixes on YouTube, all done by one individual and arranged in one video:

The most entertaining and wholesome squirrel-centric YouTube video ever.

Just gets better and better as it goes. Totally safe squirrel obstacle course of walnut-y goodness FTW! Also, I legitimately learned some really cool things.

Arachnophobia trigger warning for 19:40 - 19:45 into the video.

So I'm going through a real hard time with mental illness, stress, panic attacks and poor sleep, and have even been having trouble with just distracting myself when I feel too overwhelmed to manage anything more active than that.

The past 20 minutes weren't so bad, and it's thanks to this video on this niche little MRE review channel called Steve1989MREInfo. Quite the "early days of AIM" kind of channel name, but once you watch one of this guy's videos and get a feel for his personality, you'll probably find it to be more of a "fittingly succinct" name. These videos pretty much have the Li Ziqi effect, but with a rather small, simple, low-key filming setup. When this guy first popped up as one of those, "Okay, whatever you say, YouTube algorithm" type video suggestions, I gave it a chance mainly due to a nostalgic attachment to MRE's, as they were used for nourishment in a trilogy of YA novels I read and love(d) called "Visitors", which was basically a YA take on "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". But I never imagined that a video of someone tediously examining, (partially) consuming, and discussing bits of history behind an MRE from 1957 could enthrall and calm me in the way it ultimately did. And indeed, much like Li Ziqi's YouTube videos, this quiet little food-focused channel gives me a specific feeling that reminds me a bit of that "excited to be safe" feeling which (I presume) we all know so very well.

So, if you're up for some really chill videos with a niche subject and likeable host, here's some good ones for ya:

The latest video I've watched, as of my posting this (2019 Canadian IMP Southwestern Chipotle Chicken MRE ration)
---
***Note for below video: There are some kinda gross parts in this one. Not for those who don't have a decently strong stomach!***
The "if you say so youtube" recommended video that started it all for me (1957 5-man 24h MRE ration)
