People have been wondering whether they would do anything about a load of racist comments he made on a body building forum years ago and today they have said that they've fined him after reportedly waiting for it to all blow over.

WWE supports a culture of inclusion regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we are committed to embracing all individuals as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.

Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) will be fined $100,000 and required to complete sensitivity training for offensive commentary uncovered from his past. WWE will also facilitate meetings for Dylan with community organizations to foster further discussion around the power of social media and the impact of your words.

This seems to have split opinion. Some saying that it's ridiculous to fine someone for something said before you worked for them. Others have pointed that Hogan said one word and was fired whereas Lars gets fined.

Only thing I find amazing is that it's taken them to long to do something. This was reported and made known to them a while ago.

They've only made this public because of the backlash they've received from not doing anything for quite a while now, since this was made known to them something like 2 months ago. $100k is a lot of money for Lars as well, as he's not one of their high earners. Wonder how some of the guys backstage are taking it, as some people like Big E were very vocal and angry at the Hogan incident.

Hopefully he has learned that it's not acceptable. I don't get this whole thing of punishing people to no end for things they said 10 years ago. People can and do change their opinions on things and totally regret what they might have said in the past. I have respect for people that realise how wrong they were and have changed their opinion. It shows that they've grown as a person and recognise a huge flaw in themselves and their beliefs. The way that some people go on about it, constantly out for blood, it's almost like they don't want people to have changed their beliefs and become a better person. Take gay people, I know my opinion on that has changed massively from 10 years ago. 10 years ago me didn't like seeing it or hearing about it, but now I have some really good friends who are gay and think it's perfectly natural and don't mind seeing guys holding hands when walking down the street. Opinions and views can change. I'd be ashamed of my old self now, but I like how I am now and know that I've grown as a person. People can't accept that change, then fuck ya, because I only care about how I view things now, not 10 years ago.

They did it because of backlash from sponsors. A Reddit user reached out to one of them and this was their response.

“Thank you for reaching out to Mars Wrigley Confectionery with your comments. We learned of Lars Sullivan’s comments recently and share in your shock and disgust. As a values-based company, we find his behavior abhorrent and unacceptable. We have engaged the WWE to discuss this situation and seek to understand what actions they will take to swiftly address this matter. We hope this information is helpful and wish you a great day!”
