4CW Presents... 2017 End of Year Awards
(Studio Show)

We cut to a neat, teal studio with the 4CW logo and a screen in the background. Scott Phoenix stands in the middle of the area in a suit and tie.

Phoenix: Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us and welcome to the 2017 4CW End of Year Awards! As we move into our final show of the year, we honour the greatest wrestlers and moments of the past twelve months. 2017 has been a year of recementing legacies, birthing new careers and stars rocketing into superstardom as well as a bunch of hilarious, terrifying and always memorable moments!

Our first award will honour the wrestler that has made the biggest improvement in 2017. Let's see who the nominations are...

Phoenix: Three solid nominations but there can only be one winner.

Phoenix slips out a card from a golden envelope...

EOYW_Improved.png

Phoenix: A big congratulations to Brian White! And now, as we move on to our next award, I have to say the advantage of this studio show is that I can break the fourth wall more obviously than we do in the show. This next award is Match Writer of the Year. Let's take a look at the nominations...

Phoenix: And the winner is...

EOYW_Match_Writer.png

Phoenix: Congratulations to Rhys! Throughout 2017, there have been many feuds between our stars! Some brutal, some hilarious, some technically impressive and some all of the above - but there can only be one, Feud of the Year!

2evsroy.png

Phoenix: And without further ado, let's see which feud has remained in the viewers' memories the most...

EOYW_Feud.png

Phoenix: Glock Nine and Phil McGroin destroyed eachother this year in a variety of matches and shows and they have been rewarded with this recognition! During that feud, and all the others, there have been a plethora of fantastic matches!

11kyy5d.png

Phoenix: From triple cages to TLC to Vietnamese Kendo Stick matches to the 13 Ghost Gauntlet! But what match has been voted the BEST of the year? Let's take a look...

EOYW_Match.png

Phoenix: Sery and Paige, in the Triple Cage match, has been voted match of the year! Congratulations!

We cut to something that is clearly not the studio with Scott Phoenix. The screen goes black and for a few seconds there’s not even a sound.

Camera Man: Is this thing on? Yeah, there we go.

The camera clicks on and a door is shown. Some shuffling is heard off-screen as Camera Man sits down behind it to record his message to 4CW, completely oblivious to the fact that he’s pointed the camera the wrong way.

Phoenix (commentary): Uh... well folks, looks like were taking a detour here... and for some reason, we're seeing... a door?

Camera Man: Good job someone here knows that they’re doing. Helps that I’m a professional. Someone in this place needs to know what to do with a camera. Okay, where do I start? Umm…

Camera Man: Well, when I came to 4CW, I had no idea what we were getting ourselves in to. My job was simply to point the camera at Phil McGroin and let him tell the story of his life through his actions. I think it's going okay. Although I wish I'd known just how crazy he actually is. He seems to genuinely believe that he's undefeated. I've even tried showing him a recording of him being pinned and he punched the TV and told me that "nobody saw that so it doesn't count and now there's no evidence to say otherwise". I still have the recording. I'm not entirely sure he realises how this all works.

Camera Man: And the shit that I've had to put up with. It's like living with a man child. It's a good job he pays me well. Unbelievable the amount of shit that I have to put up with. And he just can't help himself either. Take Glock for example. Why would you piss a guy like him off? Why would you keep on provoking him? I lost count of the amount of times I've told him to drop it, but he wouldn't listen. And now he's rambling on about someone else, but I've been trying to drown it out, but it's a relief to no longer constantly hear the name Glock thrown around all over the place.

The door in front of the camera opens and Phil McGroin walks in fresh from having a shower, his groin way too close to the camera.

Camera Man: Jesus man, why do you always walk around naked after a shower? Put some clothes on.

Phil McGroin: Nothing wrong with walking around like how I was born. Stop being a baby about it. Here, better?

McGroin moves so that the camera is blocking the view of his penis from Camera Man.

Phoenix: What the - ?! Who's airing this? Can we cut? Anyone?!

Camera Man: Better. Would be better if you put something on though.

The door opens again and a woman stops in her tracks as she's confronted by a naked Phil McGroin.

Phil McGroin: Hey beautiful. McGroin, Phil McGroin.

Phil McGroin puts his hand out to shake the woman's hand, but she slaps him hard across the face instead and storms out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

Phil McGroin: Well that was rude. Why do women keep slapping me? I'm sexy, they should love me.

Camera Man: I've told you before, stop introducing yourself like you're James Bond. It's not cool and you really need to work out what it sounds like when you say it.

Phil McGroin: I have worked out what it sounds like, thank you. It sounds fucking cool because it's just like how James Bond introduces himself. Now stop being a prick!

Phil McGroin opens the door and leaves, angry and still without any clothes.

Camera Man: well, now that that is over, I suppose I should continue. Where was I, oh yeah…

The door opens again and a random office working pokes his head in.

Camera Man: STOP INTERRUPTING ME!

Random Guy: Woah, sorry. Was just letting you know that Phil is wondering around naked. You got any clothes in here?

Camera Man: I'm not his babysitter dude, just find him a towel or something. If he doesn't want that, sneeze or cough near him and he'll quickly leave. Yawn and you probably won't see him for another week.

Random Guy: Cool, cool. Will do. Say, are you setting things up for the next clip in here?

Camera Man: I'm trying to do my own one, but people keep interrupting me!

Random Guy: Your own one? You know the camera is pointing at the door, right?

Camera Man: I KNOW HOW A CAMERA WORKS! I'M A FUCKING PROFESSIONAL! GET OUT AND LET ME FINISH!

The guy quickly shuts the door and leaves.

Camera Man: Got the camera pointing the wrong way. How stupid does he think I am? I didn't name myself Camera Man for the sake of it. Seems everyone here is an idiot apart from me. And that's my closing statement, you're all idiots and if you need a camera man to show you all how it's done, give me a call.

We cut back to the studio with Scott Phoenix, who looks perplexed.

Phoenix: Well that was... something. Anyway, it's time to move on to our next award. This next one will honour the best Roleplayer of the Year! Let's take a look at the nominations...

Phoenix pulls out the card from the envelope...

Phoenix: And the Roleplayer of the Year award goes to...

EOYW_RPER.png

Phoenix: We've honoured some fantastic achievements in 2017 tonight but there's still a few important awards to go! Next up, let's take a look at the nominations for the Show of the Year in 4CW!

29dd9gz.png

Phoenix: Each of these shows has been highlighted as the best of the year, but there can only be one official winner! Let's see who it is...

EOYW_Show.png

Phoenix: Gallows End 2017, with the traditional Gallows Pole and the first 13 Ghost Gauntlet match for 5 years is a worthy winner! And these shows have provided us with some incredible champions through the year! This next award will be to decide the BEST Champion of the Year... the nominations are...

2mg9hna.png

Phoenix: And here we go! The winner is...

EOYW_Champion.png

Phoenix: Brian White, the man who was at one point BOTH World and Universal Champion, is our decorated winner of the Champion of the Year Award! Congratulations!

n3u8hh.png

Phoenix: This next award is a little unique. It is decided by the Head Booker. As shown above, consideration for this award includes several aspects including consistent reviews and RPs, match writing and general creative work. There can be only one winner, and let's see who Head Booker Rhys has chosen for this prestigious award...

EOYW_Golden.png

Phoenix: We have one more award to reveal tonight, the coveted Wrestler of the Year Award. However, before we do that, we have one special announcement. 4CW is pleased to announce that it has determined a new inductee into the 4CW Hall of Fame. This person has been 4CW alumni for over a decade. This person is a former 4CW Fight Club winner. This person is a former 4CW World Champion. And now, this person, is the seventeenth 4CW Hall of Famer...

Scott Phoenix motions over to a graphic that reveals the new inductee.

HALL_OF_FAME.png

Phoenix: Many congratulations to Jon Viper, the newest member of the 4CW Hall of Fame! And now, without further ado, it is time for the final award of the night. This award represents star power, dominance, entertainment and athletic achievement all in one tightly wrapped gift. It is, simply, the Wrestler of the Year Award. Let's run down the nominations...

ipwi6s.png

Phoenix: In alphabetical order, we start with Brian White. This man has had a wonderful year, winning both the 4CW Universal and World Championships, holding them both at the same time, and also winning the first ever Stormchaser Tournament. He has spent much of the year with two clear rivals: Eddie Wolfbaine and Pilgrim Paige and has spent the year domination the competition.

Dirk Meyer was disguised as former General Manager Quinn Cox, until he revealed his true identity and inadvertently cost his friend Senecca the 4CW Universal Championship.
Later on, he would betray Senecca in a not-so-inadvertent manner. For months, Senecca kept Meyer waiting, until finally coming face to face with him in the 13 Ghost Gauntlet match. Both men were counted out, and ended up brawling all through New York. More recently, Meyer continued to cost Senecca his matches and the feud has reached a whole new level of bad blood.

Eddie Wolfbaine returned as The Kaokame and when he revealed his identity, he went on a run that would be envied by many. He finished runner up in the Stormchaser Tournament, losing out to Brian White. Later on in the year, he also lost a Universal Title match vs White but in the same night got some sweet revenge when he became the first ever person to win the 13 Ghost Gauntlet twice and the 4CW World Champion beating Brian White in a monumental climax to the show.

Glock Nine debuted earlier this year and has spent most of the year feuding with the man known as Phil McGroin. What started off as a compelling rivalry turned into an all-out blood feud, in which they went to war in a Vietnamese Kendo Stick match and which ended in Glock Nine hanging Phil McGroin in the Gallows Pole match and making history by putting his name on the list of Gallows Pole winners.

Jacob Scharff, former 4CW World Champion, returned this year to much fan fare. He has yet to reclaim a championship but has gone all out in competition and taken some big wins throughout the year including his most recent win vs Supreme. Scharff also went to a no contest with Custom Cup Champion Pilgrim Paige in a brutal Graveyard by Moonlight match, and it has certainly been a year where his momentum could propel him onto greater things.

Jon Viper made his long-awaited return and decided his target would be then-4CW World Champion Rhys Cain. He viciously assaulted Cain's brother and went to war with him twice, once at Revival in TLC, where Viper beat Cain and took the title and again at SummerFest, in a Hard Knocks Life match. Viper proved his dominance as a super starof the business and beat Cain again. Now he has achieved the ultimate: becoming a 4CW Hall of Famer, and that certainly makes him a front-runner for this award.

Lord Skywolf has been our General Manager since Quinn Cox was revealed to be Dirk Meyer and he has had a lot to deal with, including MONSTAR's suspicious physique,
complaints and demands off workers, and he has even found time to compete on occassion, making an unsuccessful attempt at the 13 Ghost Gauntlet earlier this year.

Phil McGroin and his Camera Man have raised more than a few eyebrows in his time in 4CW. Not only did he go to war with Glock Nine and stubbornly not back down despite the brutality of the matches he also has notable wins this year over Rhys Cain and Senecca, two 4CW Hall of Famers and former champions.

Pilgrim Paige has also had a great year. Not only did she capture the 4CW Custom Cup Championship vs Sery in July, but her and White, along with Tommy Young and The Coven members Hazel and Tsukiko have dominated shows with their heated rivalry and insane action-packed segments. Pilgrim Paige has also brought her own personal brand of crazy with her Graveyard by Moonlight match and has proven that she is among the best here in 4CW, not least of all when she showed her incredibly mean streak in the second half of the year.

And then we move on to Rhys Cain, he started the year as 4CW World Champion and held it strong until Revival, when he was defeated in a brutal TLC match vs the returning Jon Viper. Cain continued the war with Viper through the summer and also competed in the 13 Ghost Gauntlet, where he was eliminated after controversial interference. Cain now looks to get revenge on Glock Nine as we close out the year.

After months of mystery, Senecca finally revealed himself to be Brian White's opponent at Revival and brought the Universal Championship with him. Thanks to Dirk Meyer though, he lost the title and was soon betrayed by his supposed friend. The two of them ended up battling all through the streets of New York and Senecca got some measure of revenge throwing Meyer off a pier. He doesn't seem to have thwarted Meyer for good though which will be a motivating factor for him moving forward into the New Year.

Sery won the 4CW Custom Cup Championship earlier in the year after he defeated Supreme. He made his stipulation a Triple Cage match but that backfired on him when he was defeated by Pilgrim Paige in the brutal match. Sery is currently taking a sabbatical, but his matches and pure presence earlier in the year were some of the most memorable moments of 2017 and we hope to see him return sooner rather than later.

Finally, we have Supreme, or Reamer, since he has called himself both this year. Supreme and Sery settled their feud earlier in the year over the 4CW Custom Cup Championship, which involved Supreme having to take therapy until he couldn't deal with Sery's annoyance any longer and put the title on the line to settle it once and for all. After he lost the title, he moved on to other opportunities, and then, at Gallows End, seemed to show a split personality, a much more vicious, brute force side of him called Reamer and this side of him very nearly went all the way and won 13 Ghost Gauntlet but after numerous eliminations, Reamer didn't have quite enough to go all the way and was defeated. With this new savage side to him, Supreme/Reamer looks more dangerous than ever.

And so, after all that, who has won Wrestler of the Year? It's  time to find out... the final award of the night...

EOYW_Wrestler.png

Phoenix: Congratulations Brian White! What a great set of worthy winners we've had tonight. We've celebrated 2017 in 4CW as we move forward to hopefully an even better 2018! Just some thoughts on the results:

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: BRIAN WHITE
-Well deserved. Brian White has been all over the show, Stormchaser winner, double champion and a part of WAR in December.

FEUD OF THE YEAR: GLOCK NINE VS PHIL MCGROIN
-This feud has been entertaining throughout the year and lasted well, never felt like it dipped in quality for me throughout.

CHAMPION OF THE YEAR: BRIAN WHITE
-As I said above, White has dominated.

MATCH OF THE YEAR: SERY VS PAIGE - TRIPLE CAGE MATCH - CUSTOM CUP TITLE [SERY]
-One of the more crazy and brutal matches this year - which is saying something - but also a hell of a lot of fun to read.

MOST IMPROVED: BRIAN WHITE (GORGRIM)
-Huge improvement for Gorgrim this year. RPs are better, promos are better, White is more fleshed out than ever.

MATCH WRITER: RHYS
-Well, shucks. I voted for Paige btw, and she deserves a lot of praise for some great matches this year.

RP'ER OF THE YEAR: PILGRIM PAIGE
-Paige, one of the best writers we have, has been consistently good with RPs, as her character's success shows.

SHOW OF THE YEAR: GALLOWS END
-Great show. Thoroughly enjoyed putting it together (even though it was also a huge pain) and I'm very proud of the effort we made for it.

GOLDEN KEYBOARD: PILGRIM PAIGE
-Paige has been a massive help to me this year. Matches, segments, RPs, reviews. And a lot of help creatively.

2017 4CW HALL OF FAME INDUCEE: JON VIPER
-Well deserved. Jon Viper comes back after years away and becomes World Champion. If that isn't a Hall of Famer, I don't know what is.

The Moon Maiden

Meant to talk a bit about this a while ago, frankly.

WRESTLER OF THE YEAR: BRIAN WHITE
- I'm a big Freight Train fan. He's massive in many more ways than one, and Gorgrim has grown his character's dimensions well beyond one, also. Cool character, hard-earned title reigns and kick-ass matches are the order of the day when White is involved. Gorgrim's also a fun guy to work with. Congrats!

FEUD OF THE YEAR: GLOCK NINE VS PHIL MCGROIN
- While I didn't vote for this feud, I verrry nearly did and I feel this is a good pick. It was definitely earned, as this feud was pretty consistently entertaining throughout its duration. It was intense; violently over-the-top; and there was never a dull moment. Good stuff. Congrats!

CHAMPION OF THE YEAR: BRIAN WHITE
- Basically what I said before, just emphasize the bit about what a dominant force he is. Congrats a second time!

MATCH OF THE YEAR: SERY VS PAIGE - TRIPLE CAGE MATCH - CUSTOM CUP TITLE [SERY]
- Honored to have been a part of it. This match played a big part in elevating Paige in her singles career, taking on new life as a heel. Moreover, it helped me start using/developing a better range of emotions for her in segs, matches and RPs.

MOST IMPROVED: BRIAN WHITE (GORGRIM)
- I kinda covered this in Gorgrim's first win. With added dimensions and backstory, as well as greater attention given to setting a scene, Gorgrim has worked hard to round out his primary 4CW character. Aaand... congrats a third time! Way to go.

MATCH WRITER: RHYS
- Rhys is a consistent, talented writer and with the huge workload he has, that's a doubly impressive feat. He's provided us with stellar matches all year long and brought about the majority of 4CW's biggest moments and hardest hits. Congrats!

RP'ER OF THE YEAR: PILGRIM PAIGE
- Thanks, folks! I'm honored and I hope to continue outputting entertaining and detailed RP material.

SHOW OF THE YEAR: GALLOWS END
- No shocker, here. This show was a beast, start to finish. Everyone more than pulled their weight here and it shows. Great PPV!

GOLDEN KEYBOARD: PILGRIM PAIGE
- Thank you very kindly, Rhys. I love this place and am always happy to participate, contribute, critique and brainstorm.

2017 4CW HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE: JON VIPER
- Viper definitely earned this. Longtime 4CW guy, big comeback and delightfully vicious feuding/match stuff. Congrats!
