I know not alot of people here are fans of Green Day. But for this Green Day group I am in. I'm ranking all of their albums from worst to best. Also I am ranking every track on the album in each post. I figured I would make a thread here to share. In Facebook groups, posts can get lost in the shuffle. So I'll document it here so I won't lose it.

#12 - Nimrod

220px-Green_Day_-_Nimrod_cover.jpg

Nimrod is probably the album I listen to the least by Green Day. Just seemed like they were starting to stray away from the punk sounds of Insomniac and Dookie and going into the sounds of Warning. But the album seemed confused and torn about which sound it wanted to put out. This still has some of my all time favorites on it. But I have to put something at #12 and Nimrod was the first one that came to mind. My track rankings are in the comments. Its quite a long read. I got carried away writing about the songs.

Track Ranking:
18. Last Ride In - I hate instrumentals, especially boring random ones.

17. Take Back - Just a song I always forget and never really makes it into my rotation. Also its only a minute long. Just is a song that is kind of there.

16. Prosthetic Head - Another one that never makes it into the rotation. Has all the makings of a Green Day song, but nothing that puts it apart. Man this is hard to put a ranking on these songs.

15. Haushinka - Good song. Enjoyable. Just not as enjoyable as the rest of the tracks. From this song out I think all the songs ont his album are absolutely fantastic.

14. All The Time - Nice catchy song. When I listen to it, I often find myself humming the song all day long.

13. Walking Alone - I think you can really see the Warning era take over on this track. No complaints for me. I loved the Warning album. I love this song.

12. Uptight - Love the transition into a slow going song into fast punk like awesomeness. Uptight, has one of my favorite Green Day lyrics in it. "I've been uptight all night, im a son of a gun!"

11. Jinx - Another good one. This album has alot of tracks on it you can tend to forget if you haven't listened to the album in a while. Alot of these tracks its the lyrics that get me and not really the sound of the song also. "Or you will be damned to spend your life in hell. Or earth with me tangled at your feet."

10. Redundant - I'll get hell for ranking this one so low. While its one of my favorites. Its just not one I find myself going back to all that much. But every once in a while ill throw it on because I haven't listened to it in a while. Then I'll kick myself in the behind for listening to it so rarely. Then I'll repeat the redundant process. See what I did there?

9. Reject - I don't think I have to even explain why so many of us Green Day fans might relate to this song.

8. Platypus (I Hate You) - Sometimes if I am drunk and feeling like something fast and in your face, I'll play this one. Caution warning though, it'll make you want to get in everyones face. Awesome song.

7. Worry Rock - Some of the most memorable lines come from this song. Its one of Green Day's most underrated songs to me. "Fucked without a kiss again and dragged it through the mud." Its so damn freaking catchy. A hidden gem that any new Green Day fan I envy, for listening to it for the first time.

6. King For A Day - Fun to hear in concert I would say. One of the more recognizable songs ont he whole album. Not exactly something I seek out to listen to on an average Green Day binge. Still one of Green Day's most famous songs and that alone gives its ranking at the top half of the album.

5. Nice Guys Finish Last - Hey its all us nice guys anthem! Who hasn't had a few beers (or 10) and sat in a corner playing this song on repeat?

4. Hitchin A Ride - One of the first NON American Idiot songs I fell in love with by Green Day. I just start feeling some type of way when I hear it. When watching Green Day concerts on YouTube, it has been one of my favorite songs to watch them play live.

3. Good Riddance - This song was controversial when Green Day put it out. I mean any sign of the Dookie Green Day is completely gone in this one. But for me it showed that Green Day has the capability to be more than a one trick pony and can write songs that will pull on your heart strings everytime you hear the song.

2. Scattered - Talk about possibly Green Day's most underrated song. It is a shame they don't play it more live, also link me to any youtube videos of it being played live if you can find any! I think there is a video out there. Scattered always has me belting out the lyrics. A genuinely awesome song.

1. The Grouch - People will be shocked that I put the Grouch in the #1 spot. For me, this is the best song on it. Just a nasty song about someone who hates their current life now that they are older. Short, angry, and fast. "I drink a six pack of apathy" might be the best Green Day lyric of all time. I'm in love with The Grouch.

Update: I guess finding live videos of Scattered isn't as tough as I thought.

#11 - DOS! - I really did love the Trilogy. It came out when I was about 19, a year after I graduated for high school. Which was a confusing time for me. In all spectrums of my life. My relationships, family, work, and some substance abuse. So many of these songs I connected with during that time. So these albums bring back alot of memories. With that being said, I think they belong at the bottom of the list when ranking Green Day albums. Dos! for me was the worse of the three. Uno! and Tre! all have tons of songs I go back to listen to even to this day. Dos! just seems like a album with alot of filler. Which isn't surprising. The Trilogy was an ambitious project for Green Day and there was alot to digest.

13. See You Tonight - Opening song to the album. Decent enough. Gets the last ranking for being so short. Not much to be said about this one.

12. Baby Eyes - Just never really gripped my the way other Green Day songs have. Seemed more like a filler song than anything. Still the lyrics "I say whoa oh oh oh oh,God rest your fucking soul, 'Cause baby, baby I was born to kill" are pretty awesome.

11. Fuck Time - Just a joke song. Its nice to throw on when you are with your pals shooting the shit. But nothing really more than that. Still brings me back to the I Heart Radio freakout when Green Day played it. Green Day PTSD I guess?

10. Wild One - I'll admit I do listen to this one alot. The mellowness of the song really speaks to me. Maybe I should have ranked this higher, but its just your run of the mill Green Day song. Run of the mill Green Day is still pretty freaking awesome Green Day though!

9. Nightlife - "My favorite color's candy apple girl" This song is so weird but its catchy. Just doesn't sound much like Green Day though. Not that it is a bad thing. I like it when the band does tracks like this and strays outside of its norm. Its a good song.

8. Amy - I know every word to this song. Many might find it boring. But just switch out the name Amy with who ever you are crushing on at the moment, then boom, instantly relatable. Amy don't you gooooooooo

7. Ashley - " We used to call it speed but now it's crystal meth" That lyric and whole verse makes this song memorable for me. Saves it from being kind of a generic song. I'll listen to it from time to time.

6. Stop When the Red Lights Flash - Talk about a song that will PUMP you up. When ever I have my whole playlist on shuffle and Stop When The Red Lights Flash hits, I'll turn my volume to max. Fast, quick, and intense. Something Green Day does so well.

5. Lady Cobra - Nice little song here that really reminds you of their punk roots. Nothing much to say about Lady Cobra, but it's a rocking tune and always a go to song when listening to the trilogy.

4. Wow! Thats Loud! - Just a great song, love that opening riff. A lot of Green Day fans out there that don't seem to like this one. But it is one of the best on Dos for me. Fight me!

3. Lazy Bones - This brings me back to when I was just out of high school. One of the songs that really touched me the most out of the trilogy. I was working overnights at McDonalds, 5 days. I was drinking alot. I didn't know what I was going to do with my life, how "I was going to get out of that job. I don’t want your sympathy, I don’t want your honesty, I just want to get some peace of mind." Looking back upon it now. I don't know why I was so down in the dumps all the time. Wish I could go back and tell myself to snap out of it. This song fit the mood of that part of my life. As does most of the trilogy.

2. Makeout Party - When I first heard Makeout Party, I put it on repeat probably a million times. Quickly turned into one of my all time favorite Green Day songs.

1. Stray Heart - The best song on the album. Its the one that really sticks out on Dos!. Stray Heart is up there for best songs in the whole trilogy

Admin and 4CW Head Booker

I don't have much to say about these albums as I don't really know them but these are well written reviews and interesting to read.

I think I've listened to three. I was thinking just one, but looking at the covers, I do think it might actually be three that I've listened to. Nimrod, Dookie and American Idiot. Might be one (probably American Idiot), might be all three since I recognise the albums and one of my mates in school used to like them and I'd sit round his listening to albums whilst we talked shit for hours. Way too long ago to actually remember because it would have been in the years they came out and not since.

All good albums. Definitely check out there other stuff. You are in for a treat! I would suggest 21st Century Breakdown and Insomniac. If you liked Dookie and American Idiot, you'd like Insomniac and 21st Century Breakdown. The albums are similar in the sense that they both are a follow up of an extremely successful album. Insomniac followed Dookie, 21st Century Breakdown followed American Idiot.

#10 - Revolution Radio - Admittedly I haven't given this as many listens as I have recent new Green Day albums. I know Green Day produced this one all by themselves. Which I give them props for doing. I love most of the songs on this album as I do all Green Day albums. But this wasn't one of the bands strongest efforts which is why it goes towards the end of the list. Still have some rocking songs on it. I really don't have much to say about all the songs on it though.

artworks-000194602916-uiyg4t-t500x500.jpg

12. Outlaws - Kind of a generic song to be honest. Nothing to exciting here, nothing to write home about. I usually skip this song if I am listening to RevRad.

11. Ordinary World - Nice slow song that I kind of dig here. But still, it is kind of boring compares to other Green Day soft and slow songs. Insanely repeatative.

10. Somewhere Now - This is similar to Outlaws. Nothing exciting that really jumps out and grabs me. Just generic. It isn't like Green Day to have so many filler tracks.

9. Say Goodbye - I enjoy this song. I always find myself loving the lyrics "O lord have mercy on my soul". The way Billie sings it is pretty amazing. He can turn something boring, into something really moving with his voice. Maybe I should have ranked this higher.

8. Forever Now - One of the first songs I really started to like on the the album. It was the first one I went back to after listening to the album for the first time. "If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die." Green Day just has a way to pull at your heart strings.

7. Revolution Radio - Not anything great, but not bad. A nice title track that I'll listen to every once in a while. Probably a good short song for them to pick as a single.

6. Too Dumb to Die - This is a raging song. I ranked all these songs about a week ago on this album. Now that I'm going through writing these commentary on each track, I feel like I need to rerank them again! Isn't that what its like being a Green Day die hard though? Your favorite song on an album yesterday, won't be your favorite song on the album two weeks from now!

5. Trouble Times - "What good is love and peace on earth if its exclusive?" Talk about a track that describes the times we are in right now. Times are scary right now and this song captures it!

4.Youngblood - Such an awesome song. Just catchy. I'll find myself singing this all day long if I hear it. I wish they would have picked this as a single and not the title track. It just gets you tapping your foot!

3. Bouncing Off The Wall - Another song that would have been a great pick for a single over Revolution Radio. Another catchy song. Just classic Green Day, a short little catchy song that you can't get out of your head.

2. Bang Bang - I love this one. I love the whole back story of the song. The music video is pretty amazing. When this single came out I thought to myself "Finally Green Day picked a great ass song for a single!!"

1. Still Breathing - The best song on the album. It'll probably go down as the most memorable song on the album. Everytime I turn on the rock station when I am in my car I hear this song it seems. Probably the most played Green Day song on the radio where I am from in a long time. It just gets you all in your feels. If you can't relate to this song, I don't know what to tell you. The song is just like "Ive gone through all this shit but I'm still here". Classic.
