I'm getting bored of what I have recently.

I mean, I can keep listening to the new Alter Bridge album which is great, but nothing else seems to have really grabbed me that I haven't listened to too much. So I'm looking for recommendations. I like rock & metal (not the mindless screaming shit though). Any good new albums come out this year that haven't been hugely popular but should have been?

Trivium's "Silence in the Snow" is a great album with melodic vocals instead of harsh vocals. Twenty One Pilots are not quite "rock" but you just have to listen to them and experience the greatness for yourself.

Other random rock bands I like: A Day To Remember, Lower Than Atlantis, System of a Down, Tenacious D, Bullet For My Valentine, In Search of Sun.

Some heavier stuff (might not be for you but who knows?): Killswitch Engage, Bury Tomorrow, Bring Me The Horizon.

Rock/Reggae hybrid: Skindred.

I have tons more, but I don't know specifically what you are looking for.

Silence in the Snow is a fun album. Are System of a Down and Tenacious D still going? Will check out the others. Cheers.

Yay, I've made someone a fan of In Search of Sun. Love it when I do that, more people deserve to know about them. Definitely try them out Ninjak_XO. Great UK band.

Because of Chris Cornell, I've been listening to the three Audioslave albums. Forgot how much I enjoyed those albums. So recommend that people listen to them in memory of a great singer.

Cornell has some good stuff with Audioslave and he also has some good solo stuff.

I'm really into Audioslave as well. Chris did some of his best vocal work in that line-up, no doubt. What used to be our "hip" music station here has since become reality TV-plagued garbage, but it does have some cool programs. My faves are Much Alternative and Throwback Thursday. Both of these programs had full 1-hour blocks with nothing but Soundgarden, Audioslave, and solo Cornell videos. Hell, even "Hunger Strike". Pretty awesome.

Always looking for suggestions 😄
I mainly listen to metal or heavy rock.

Two albums have taken my liking recently. Battles by In Flames, and Coming Home by Pain. No, make that three as there's also Atoma by Dark Tranquility.

Lately, I've discovered and been getting right into this rock band called Twelve Foot Ninja. Highly recommend them, especially the songs "Oxygen" and "Point of You" and moreover, the whole Outlier album.

Cool, I have an hours walk ahead of me after work (can you tell that I'm super busy today lol), so will check them out on that.

Ninjak - you listen to any Chevelle? I get the feeling you'd dig them, if not. It's possible you know them already, even if only superficially, due to "Well Enough Alone" being used in Smackdown vs. Raw 2008.

Some top Chevelle picks of mine are the above-mentioned song; The Red; and Saferwaters. The latter is my fave of theirs. On the heavier side, there's some great tracks like I Get It, and The Clincher. I'm not up to date with their discography but yeah, solid band.
