Saturday Night Cataclysm (Live)
Saturday 7:05pm - 9:00pm

The show opens to a hot crowd as we go up to the ramp area, the band Shinedown is all set up and waste little time kicking things off by playing the song Enemies. They finish up and pyro goes off as we send it to Nigel McGuinness.

Nigel: Hello! And welcome everyone to the first ever Dynamite Pro supershow, Saturday Night Cataclysm! Once a month every month bringing you the most intense action live in your home for free! Tonight we have a splendid show for everyone with the semi finals of the King of the.... Wait a second, that's William Regal's music.

Regal enters the ring with a mic and seems pleased with the fan turn out.

Regal: Ladies and gentlemen, tonight is a big night for us because D-Pro has come to an agreement with both GWA and IFW to allow our supershow to be the fighting grounds for the King of the Ring semi finals and finals, here tonight. However, I have some bad news, it seems Ezekiel Jackson could not make it here tonight due to some unfortunate weather and his plane was never able to get here. Since I have both Brock Lesnar and Austin Aries on my roster for the night, I have decided that tonight rather than just give Aries a bye to the finals, we will have a Three Way Dance to determine the King of the Ring!

I am very excited to have this huge match here tonight. Also tonight, as promised last week on Dynamite TV, in the main event Samoa Joe will be facing Rey Mysterio. Samoa Joe IS in the building. But just you wait, I am not finished. I am proud to announce that after just two strong Dynamite TV shows I was able to secure a PPV deal. I won't go into the small specifics, but I will say that Dynamite Pro will be producing four huge 3 hour PPVs every year from now until the foreseeable future and in just a couple months we have set the date for our inaugural PPV. Week 12, will mark the "Breakthrough" PPV.

And lastly, as promised on D-TV, I am announcing tonight at the Breakthrough PPV 4 men will enter a ladder match for the vacant, Dynamite Pro Elite Grand Championship. The title is still in the works and it's design will be unveiled in due time. And starting next month right here on the Cataclysm supershow we will begin the matches for the right to enter the Breakthrough ladder match as Dolph Ziggler takes on Mark Henry and Rob Van Dam takes on Rey Mysterio! The last two matches will be announced then as well. Enjoy the show!

Nigel: Wow! So many things all at once, I am glad Mr. Regal gave me the opportunity to get on the ground floor here. We have to go to commercial, but we will be right back!

We return from commercial panning the crowd when "One of a Kind" hits the arena. Van Dam comes out with his agent Paul Heyman trailing behind. Next out comes Dolph Ziggler and this one is ready to go.

- Rob Van Dam w/Paul Heyman vs Dolph Ziggler
Slow and steady it is as the two men test the waters with a few collar and elbow tie ups and some chain wrestling. Ziggler gets a good strong chin lock applied as Heyman shouts encouragement at RVD telling him to take his time and work out of it. Van Dam starts to lift off the mat and hits Ziggler with a few elbows and a waist lock, they switch positions a few times before RVD locks it in hard enough to pop off the German suplex. Rolling Thunder attempted and missed when Ziggler gets the knees up, he pins but just a 1 count. Ziggler starts in with his offense, hitting a superkick sending RVD into the corner followed by a Stinger Splash! Dolph for the elbow drop but misses when RVD moves at the last second. Ziggler looks like he hurt his elbow with an awkward fall. Back on the hunt is Ziggler when RVD starts in with an onslaught of stiff kicks to the arm and elbow. Big spin kick but it misses when Ziggler ducks it and hits the ropes, he comes back and hits a big drop kick. Both men lay on the mat for a moment when music hits... "Somebodies Gon' Get Their Ass Kicked!" Mark henry makes his way down the ring being egged on by Jim Cornette! Van Dam rolls out with the help of Paul E. as Ziggler gets up confused. Henry enters the ring and with one swift bear paw punch knocks Ziggler silly and the ref calls for the no contest.
*No Contest

Nigel: Seems like Henry is getting the jump on his opponent for next month by softening him up. But what is he doing with Jim Cornette? Eitther way hate to see this great match end like this.

Henry starts to stomp on Ziggler while Cornette and Heyman give eachother dirty looks. Jim turns his attention back to Henry and lifts his racket high in the air and slams it against his hand. The World's Strongest Man slides Ziggler toward the middle of the ring and looks down at him, runs off the ropes and hits a World's Strongest Splash! Henry shouts, "That's what I do!" and Cornette raises his hand as if he had gained a victory.

Backstage after the break we see SoCal Val waiting to interview Jim Cornette and Mark Henry.

Val: Mark Henry, why did you attack Dolph Ziggler like that?

Henry smacks his gums and looks like Val said the dumbest thing ever.

Cornette: Slides that stick over here sweetheart. This is the "Worlds Strongest Man" and that's not a gimmick, that is a documented fact of life. I knew when I saw Henry, he could be the next Vader! Maybe even better. Henry and I simply went out there to prove a point, no one is safe when Mark Henry is around.

Henry: Maaaan... I beat that boy like he stole sumthin'! Because that's just what I do! I induct people into the Hall of Pain.

Val: But why couldn't you wait until next month when you could face Ziggler one on one?

Henry: Yous about a dumb blonde. You sure that's your real hair color? Did you hear a word I said? It's what I do! Dolph Ziggler's ego is too big for his little britches. He thinks he is a showoff, well I think it's safe to say he didn't do much more than just lay there and take that ass whuppin'! Next month, I am going to showoff by beating Ziggler quick and easy, it ain't nothin' to me! Then all I have to do is advance to Breakthrough, climb some little ladder and grab that Elite Grand Championship.

Cornette: Bring that back over here again. Unlike a certain other "agent" here in D-Pro, I am a WRESTLING MANAGER. And I would like to officially introduce you to my complete, Camp Cornette stable.

Cornette motions over to someone off camera as they step into the frame pushing Val out.

Cornette: Meet the future of this business... Cody Rhodes, Alex Riley, and Heath Slater. And meet the biggest baddest thing right now, ever and forever, Mark Henry. If you will excuse me, I need to go MANAGE my tag team in their match, it's next. Let's go Alex and Heath.

Already in the ring as their music plays is the Midnight Outlaws, Jay and Mark Briscoe.

- The Midnight Outlaws vs Alex Riley & Heath Slater w/Jim Cornette
Riley & Slater keep Mark isolated for most of the match with quick tags and some help from Cornette. This one lasts about 6 minutes. Jay finally gets his shot, but without much help from a battered Mark Briscoe he falls prey to Slater's Smash Hit, jump spinning DDT.
*Winners via pinfall, Alex Riley & Heath Slater

Nigel: It is quite clear old Cornette has had a chance to really mentor these two, they seem much more comfortable with each other as a tag team than a newly formed team like this should. But that is Cornette's called card, he knows tag team wrestling probably better than anyone else. Can't help but admit it was wise of them to join his Camp.

Back from break to see the final Samoa Joe vignette before he debuts tonight in the main event. The clip ends with Cody Rhodes already in the ring and Jim Cornette still there, Riley and Slater have left. Jim tells Cody to not worry about Joe, he is not their problem he is Mysterio's, just to focus on his match now.

- Cody Rhodes w/Jim Cornette vs Damien Sandow
Sandow seems to be the more athletic of the two as he out quicks and at times out smarts Cody frustrating him greatly. Corny tries to calm the youngster down after Sandow hits his swinging elbow drop and Cody rolls out of the ring. Cornette demands the ref get Sandow back so that Cody can enter the ring. Cody slides back in and Sandow is back on the attack when Cody gets a good shot in to the jaw sending Sandy reeling. Nice crisp drop kick followed by a Dashing Kick to the skull. It almost finishes Sandow, but he still has some fight in him, not for long however as Rhodes works on him a bit more and ends it with the Cross Rhodes.
*Winner via pinfall, Cody Rhodes

Rhodes and Cornette celebrate in the ring when Joe Hennig's music hits. He and Heyman come to the top of the ramp as Hennig stares at Cody and Heyman sarcastically applauds Cody on his hard fought victory. Heyman stops clapping and his mood changes, neither he nor Hennig seem impressed.

Back from break and in the ring is The Embassy: Prince Nana, his Princess Mia Yim, and his loyal body guard Kofi Kingston, along with Ricardo Rodruiguez for some reason. They are all smiling and seem quite pleased with themselves, all except Kofi as he always looks ready to punch the next person he sees in the face as always.

Nana: The Embassy is nearly complete as the most dominant collection in all of wrestling. It's not about having young guys with "potential" or having monsters, or veterans, or tag teams, or anything else anyone wants to sell you. Being royalty, it's wonderful and I realize that anything in life can be bought, that is why the absolute most important thing in the power game is... WEALTH! So without further waiting, Ricardo, do the honors...

Ricardo does his announcing in Spanish and no one knows what the hell he is saying until he gets to the end, "Alberrrrtooooooooo..... DeeeelRiiiiiiioooooooooooooooooo! His music hits and all smiles he makes his way to the ring.

DelRio: It was an easy decision. I am an honest guy, I am a nice guy, so I weighed all my options. Everyone wanted to align themselves with me. Cornette offered me the chance to work up the ladder and win the big prize some day. Heyman offered me his ability to, "highlight my best abilities and make me a star!" Heck, even that little rat Rey Mysterio wanted me to join the Filthy Animals. There name has "filthy" in it. Their leader is a rat, there is something called a Low Ki who talks like a robot, and some guy named Homicide who gives the hispanic community a bad name. I knew that none of those things mattered, I knew I wanted PURE POWER. With my nearly endless wealth and Nana's truly endless wealth, together we will be unstoppable. Here's to a great partnership!

Filthy Animal music plays as Homicide & Low Ki make their way out and enter the ring. Mia, RicRod, and Nana scramble out of the ring as Low Ki stands face to face with the blank stare of Kofi and Homicide jaw jacks with Del Rio.

- The Embassy w/Ricardo, Nana, & Mia vs Filthy Animals
This one has lots of action in a short period of time. The biggest moment comes when Low Ki and Kofi are both tagged in at the same time and the two meet in the ring and have a stare off before trading kicks that will hurt you just looking at them. Low Ki gets the upper hand and hits a few big moves, but Kofi kicks out. Nana gets up on the apron distracting the ref while Ricardo runs around the other side and hands Del Rio a small bag. Berto turns around and hits Low Ki with the powder to the eyes. Blinded he turns around and walks right into a Trouble in Africa kick. Del Rio slides out and tackles Homicide so he cannot make the save and this one is over.
*Winners via pinfall, The Embassy

Nigel: It is going to be impossible for a ref to fairly call a match involving the Embassy. A ref has only two eyes, but with 6 extra hands to watch on the outside, you can't watch them all.

The big screen comes to life with a pre taped interview from Christian Cage and Nigel McGuinness. Christian goes on to explain what makes him an "Instant Classic." How he has been involved in some of the most famous and innovative matches. He explains his ultimate goal is to win the big one here in D-Pro.

- Brock Lesnar (GWA) vs Austin Aries (IFW) vs Wade Barrett (D-Pro)
The match begins with the three men feeling each other out unsure of who to attack first when Aries and Brock look at each other and gang up on Wade trying to one up each other with big kicks and punches. Brock knocks Wade silly and out of the ring only to turn around and get hit with a drop kick from Aries.

Back and forth they go when Aries hits a big rolling elbow sending Brock to the outside. Aries watches as Wade comes to and begins to work on Brock on the outside. Aries has big plans as he runs off the ropes and through to the outside with a dive taking Brock out when Wade pushes away. Aries gets up and is met with a few big knees to the mid section as Wade rolls him in the ring. Pin attempt only gets a 1 count.

Barrett with the short arm clothesline sending Aries into the corner, Barrett backs up into the opposite corner and charges for a big splash, grabs him by the head and tosses The Greatest Man that Ever Lived out of the corner and to the floor. Barrett sets up on the middle rope for a double axehandle but Brock pushes him off.

All three men back in the ring as Brock starts in on both men suffocating them with stiff offense. Brock takes Barrett up and slams him down for a powerbomb. Brock is getting pumped up as he goes for one on Aries, Aries slips out and rolls him up for a Thre... No just a two count! Brock pops back up and hits a german on Aries. He turns his attention to Wade Barrett and works him over for a bit, looking to end it with the F-5 but Barrett counters. Barrett goes for a suplex, Brock hooks the leg.

Wade with a couple Euro uppercuts pushes Brock towards the corner. They set up for the super plex but Brock pushes Wade off and he lands on the mat solid. Brock shakes the cobbwebs but not before Austin Aries runs up to the top hitting a super plex right on top of Wade Barrett, the impact sends Brock rolling towards the ropes. Aries pins Wade for a 2! Aries quickly tries to end it on Brock. One, two, THRE!!! No. Just a two.

Austin goes for the springboard moonsault on Wade but he pops up and catches him throwing him up onto his shoulders! Wasteland coming, but Brock is up and hits a huge monster clothesline on Wade sending him backwards landing on Aries in almost a Samoan Drop position. Brock covers Wade, just a 2. Now Aries, another 2!

Brock goes to the outside and grabs a chair, the ref isn't having that and takes it away. As the ref goes to throw the chair out, Aries with a low blow! He pins, the ref turns around, Barrett breaks it up! Barrett builds his offense, whipping Aries into the ropes and hits a Winds of Change! But it only gets a two. Brock comes charging at Wade, but he counters and hits a spinebuster! Another pin attempt. One... Two... Kickout!

Wade is daring Brock to get up! Wade rolls his elbow pad down, he goes for the Bull Hammer and it connects! Wade drops down to his knees to make the pin, Aries up but he does not see him. Aries with a stiff kick to the back of the head on Wade. Aries floats over, Last Chancery! Wade taps!
*Winner via submission, Austin Aries of IFW

Aries grabs a mic after the match.

Aries: "It is only fitting that the King of the Ring crown should sit on the head of the greatest man that ever lived. I am not only the king of this ring, not only the king of my own IFW ring, but I am the king of every ring in this industry. This victory is not for you people, it's not even for me. This victory is for the history books, for future generations to enjoy tales of the ruler of the ring, the man who slew all who dared stand before him until he was presented with the title he'd deserved all along. What that means for you, my loyal subjects? Nothing at all. I don't ask that you bow down to me, to worship me, to revere me. No, you've already been doing that for years. This is the crown that my head has been destined for since the day I first stepped through the ropes, and this throne is the pedestal you people have put me on my whole life. My only regret is that this all had to happen here, in Dynamite Pro. Enjoy this scene while you can, peasants, because this...this squalor that you call home, is no place for wrestling royalty."

Nigel: I will say it. Damn Austin Aries. Wade nearly had it and he came in at the last second. The King of the Ring was nearly D-Pro's!

Backstage before the breaks we see Sonjay Dutt and Adam Cole talking about the huge match that just took place where The Greatest Man that Ever Lived won the King of the Ring crown. When a very intimidating figure walks by and makes Cole and Dutt take notice...

Cole: Dude... That was Samoa Joe.

Back from the break as Mysterio's music hits. He seems excited to have his first match especially a big one like this. The lights go out. Samoan music starts playing and pyro goes off as it comes to a close, all is silent for a moment as Joe's music hits, the rapping starts up and he makes his way out serious as anything.

- Rey Mysterio vs Samoa Joe
The two men stare off as the "Joe's Gonna Kill You" chants begin. Mysterio starts fast chopping the beast down to a knee with kicks to the leg. Mysterio's quickness over comes Joe as he gets a couple quick one counts. Joe fights back with some punches and chops, then whips Rey into the ropes. Rey through the legs with a baseball slide, he runs to the top rope for a moonsault that connects on the standing Joe. One, Two, kick out.

They get back up, Joe with a chop attempt, Mysterio ducks it and wraps around the a head scissors that floats over into a DDT. Mysterio calls out to the crowd as he once again goes to the top rope for a Frog Splash that misses. Joe rolls out of the ring to collect himself. Mysterio back up feints a dive to the outside. Joe turns his body away, which gives Mysterio the idea to leap off the top for a splash, as he comes down Joe turns and hits the kick to the side of the head!

Joe eventually gets Rey back in the ring and it doesn't look good. Joe with a belly to belly suplex that sends Rey flying into the turnbuckles. Rey gathers himself and sits in the corner. Joe up, stomps the hell out of him and makes the big running kick to the head. Joe drags Rey to the center of the ring not missing a beat and hits the senton. The pin gets a 2 count. Rey gaps for air as Joe goes for another running senton that misses. Joe grabs at his back and Rey makes his way to his feet. Joe on the attack, counter by Rey that sets up the 619! Joe grabs the legs of Rey and and drags him away from the ropes, tossing him up on his shoulder for the Muscle Buster! This one is over.
*Winner via pinfall, Samoa Joe

Joe raises his hand in victory. Worried about their partner, Low Ki and Homicide make their way to the ring getting between Joe and Rey. Rey gets to his feet with minimal assistance. Joe just stands there as Rey asks for the hand shake. Joe just stares at Rey for a moment then looks out at the crowd. "Joe's Gonna Kill You" chants start back up. Surprisingly Joe grabs Rey's hand for a shake, even if just briefly and rolls out of the ring as his music hits again and the show closes out.

Beefy

I tried as different format to kinda split things up rather than it all just run into eachother by using quotes to seperate segments. Or I guess commercials since there is more "segments/matches" than quote boxes. Lemme know what you think of this format. I think I found my comfort zone in writing style and booking shows, but I am still trying to find my way in presenting the show.

Also, disclaimer, Chux signed off on the whole Zeke thing. I tried to be fair to everyone in the match and since I knew Zeke was going to lose his match to Aries, I asked if I could make it a 3 way dance so that Zeke wouldn't lose and it would all still kinda make sense. enjoy!

Better than Essa

Yay! We've done a few KOTR tournaments now and I've never won! It'll be great fun to have the king on my shows.

I like the new format. It doesn't do a lot since everything is separated the same way, but the breaks between segments are super clear. Stick with it, it's good.

Jackson's excuse was lame, he just doesn't like Dynamite Pro. I'm pretty sure that's all it was. When I told him that the tournament would be held on D-Pro TV he just grunted and walked off.

I'd be interested to see RVD v Ziggler again, that sounds like a great match waiting to happen. I also love the sound of Ziggler v Henry though, the bumps alone will be worth the money. I can imagine Ziggler doing a huge flip from Henry's open hand slap. Henry and Cornette had a pretty good promo backstage, sounded just like them.

The Briscoes looked like chumps here, that was unexpected against what should be a jobber team in Slater & Riley. Cornette is a miracle worker. Right now the Camp feels like a group of strangers, so it'll be good to see them work closely together for a while to build up a connection. That's a problem with this game, you can't see subtle things like matching ring gear that really makes a tag team feel like a tag team.

Rhodes v Sandow! This game can be both very close to real life and very far away at the same time. Always good fun to see things like this. So we're heading towards Axel v Rhodes, eh? Good move on keeping the Hennig name, the second generation deal makes this one what it is. If it was me I'd be tempted to call him Joe Perfect.

Kofi being super serious and aggressive seems like change for the sake of change. He's so far to the other extreme on TV that this feels like he's trying too hard to distance himself. Still, it's got to be better than real Kofi. One question though, why is he called Kofi Kingston? If he's doing the African thing, shouldn't he be Kofi Accra? Just sayin'.

Also not sold on Del Rio's promo. The message was good, but the wording didn't sound quite like him. To be fair, the sound of Del Rio's promos is the most important thing and that's something you can't write. I love the way he emphasises the wrong words, "I'll beat you down like a dog." Here he said all the right things, explaining why he turned down the other managers and explaining the money connection, but every time Del Rio has ever talked about Rey he's called him a Chihuahua. Rat is good, pretty close, but that's like his insult. It would be like Rock doing his thing on Kevin Kelly and not calling him Hermie. I'm interested to see where this goes though, especially given that this group has three manager types and only two wrestlers. Should be a lot of interferences and complicated finishes.

The faction-heavy nature of D-Pro is a big difference from everything else right now, which is a great thing. It looks like Heyman and Cornette will be clashing most, although Nana arguably has better talent than Cornette. The Filthy Animals too, they could potentially run the midcard for the foreseeable future. Will these groups collide as much as I'm expecting? Looks like almost everyone who matters is in one of them, so they should! Fun times ahead.

KOTR was awesome, obviously, but what do you expect with talent like Aries? He's the greatest king that ever lived, you know.

Samoa Joe and Mysterio was a great main event, and one I'm hoping you can live up to in the next few weeks. There's a lot of huge names hidden in this roster, some were downplayed this week so others could shine, and I'm guessing the roles will be reversed in the next week or two.

I always say early shows are hard to review since there's not a whole lot established, but in three shows you've set up a lot of alliances which creates a ton of potential. I know we're getting Henry v Ziggler, Rhodes v Hennig and Mysterio v RVD, which sounds like a great card. Looking forward to next month!

Admin and 4CW Head Booker

I like the format. Not only is it clear but it's unique and it sets your show apart so I think you should keep it.

RVD v Ziggler sounds like just as good an opener as any and it ends in a no contest thanks to Mark Henry interference. Looks like we're gonna kick some feuds off right off the bat on tonight's show.

I love how you are booking Henry, and his alignment with Jim Cornette and the rest of his stable is good. Any good wrestling promotions have stables, I even have a few in the pipeline myself.

Rhodes goes over Sandow, which is fine I guess.

I love the new gimmiickk Kofi Kingston has, it's rare to see people book him as a heel but II think it could work with the right gimmick. I like the whole Embassy idea too. Nice, original idea.

King of the Ring was great. Welll written and a good match to send it off. Shame Lesnar didn't win but I have plans for him so that's alright.

Joe expectedly wins the main event and I'd be surprised if he loses anytime soon. All together, a good show.  You have a nice roster riddled with talent and it could make for some interesting feuds. Can't wait to see more.
