Punch Out is a nice nostalgia fix - but in all seriousness - Golden Sun is one of the best handheld RPGs ever made, hands down. And so it gets my vote by a mile.

God this first round sucks. So many tough calls, but I have to give it to Golden Sun here.
Golden Sun wins 3-1.

FYI, I didn't vote as I can't remember playing either of these, so I wouldn't be able to pick one.
Welcome to the Greatest Nintendo Game of All Time contest, first round.
The matchups were randomly decided.
I will put the matches up every other day, and each round will be open for three days (so there'll probably be 2 or 3 matches taking place at any one time). I want to get through the first round as quickly as possible.
ROUND ONE, MATCH SIX
Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! (NES)
Punch-Out!!, originally released in North America as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, is a boxing sports fighting video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) developed and published by Nintendo in 1987. A GameSpot reader poll ranked it as the 6th greatest NES game. It was rated the 17th best game made on a Nintendo System in Nintendo Power's Top 200 Games list.
Golden Sun (GBA)
Golden Sun is the first installment in a series of fantasy role-playing video games developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo. The game is notable for certain distinctive game elements, such as the use of special "Djinn" that empower the player and can be used against enemies. Golden Sun's story follows a band of magic-attuned "Adepts" whose purpose is to protect the world of Weyard from alchemy, a potentially destructive power that was sealed away long ago. The game was highly praised by critics; IGN's Craig Harris said that Golden Sun could "arguably be one of the best 2D-based Japanese RPGs created for any system."
