This is the toughest match up for me so far. I grew up on both these games and they are two of my favourite games of all time... but I have to go with Pokemon, especially since Gold and Silver are probably the best Pokemon games to date.

DKC baby all the way. There is a reason this game is almost always given a perfect 10. It is the culmination of perfection in the platforming world.
Pokemon, DKC is overrated lol

Pokemon. One of the few Pokemon games I played and it kept my attention for long enough.
Gold & Silver wins 3-2.

Welcome to the Greatest Nintendo Game of All Time contest, first round.
The matchups were randomly decided.
I will put the matches up every other day, and each round will be open for three days (so there'll probably be 2 or 3 matches taking place at any one time). I want to get through the first round as quickly as possible.
ROUND ONE, MATCH SEVEN
Pokemon Gold & Silver (GBC)
Pokémon Gold Version and Silver Version are the second installments of the Pokémon series of role-playing video games, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color. Pokémon Gold and Silver were critically acclaimed upon release and they are considered by many to be the best games in the entire series, as well as some of the fifth generation console gaming's most significant titles. They continued the enormous success of their predecessors as Pokémon began to form into a multi-billion dollar franchise. By 2010, the recorded sales of Gold and Silver were at 23 million units. Enhanced remakes of these games called HeartGold and SoulSilver were released for DS in 2009.
Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
Donkey Kong Country is a 1994 platforming video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is set on "Donkey Kong Island" and centres around Donkey Kong and his nephew Diddy Kong, who must recover their stolen hoard of bananas from King K. Rool and the Kremlings. Following an intense marketing campaign, Donkey Kong Country received critical acclaim and more than nine million copies were sold worldwide, making it the second-best-selling SNES game.
