They just wanted him so no one else could have him, then spent the next year making him as irrelevant as possible. I've never been a fan of his as I've always found him to be like a Mexican Randy Orton, in that he's a very bland and boring wrestler but he doesn't have the cool finisher or believable mean streak to make up for it. He just took up space on the roster and won't be missed by me, but this last run was still a dick move by Vince.
Hahaha total dick move by Vince. Must be nice to be able to blatantly be such an asshole with no repercussions
I can't say I'll miss him.

Del Rio is one of my favorite people in the ring. I don't know why they didn't do anything with him at all, also they stripped him of everything. No Car, no announcer, no nothing. His gimmick was just being Mexican lol. Maybe he will return to Lucha Underground??

... or ROH.
Alberto Del Rio is reportedly on the way out of WWE, and already has several options lined up once he's free from his contract later this month.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lucha Underground has been reaching out to people associated with Del Rio to send out feelers about bringing him back. Lucha Underground may not have the kind of money Del Rio would want to sign on, however.
Despite his rocky relationship with AAA in the past, the company has serious interest in bringing him back. Del Rio had kept his WWE return a secret from AAA and left the company without losing their title belt last year. There is also speculation about AAA's current financial status and if they'd be able to afford Del Rio's typical contract or not.
TNA does reportedly want Del Rio, but also may have trouble affording his contract. TNA had previously courted Del Rio and promised him a headlining role in the company, but Del Rio declined. In an interview earlier this year, Del Rio indicated that money was a factor in his decision to return to WWE rather than joining TNA and taking outside bookings.
The other company expressing interest in Del Rio is New Japan Pro Wrestling. Of the companies pursuing him, NJPW would most likely be able to offer Del Rio the kind of money he would expect at this point in his career.
Doesn't sound like he'll be out of a job long.
He's now officially gone from WWE.
WWE don't wish him the best in his future endeavours. Del Rio says they parted on good terms.
Loads of different reports over a couple of days all about how Del Rio's time with WWE is over once again. It's looking like we won't be seeing him return from his suspension.
Anyone sad by the news? It's an odd one as when they resigned him there were loads of reports on why WWE wanted to get him back, as he could tap into the Mexican market, etc. Then they did fuck all with him, then put him in a stable that did next to nothing, split them up and put him back to doing nothing.
