Yo, one right here. Watched the whole Firefly series the other weekend again.
I have a Firefly christmas ornament, 2 sets of the series AND movie.
BTW, a Browncoat is a fan of the cancelled TV series Firefly and the followup movie Serenity.

Watching 'Out of Gas' on Netflix... although I have it on DVD (2x over). Man, I miss TV like this. Does anyone have any suggestions for a show like Firefly that I could pick up.
Maybe one that isn't cancelled?

I am supposed to watch it but I never got around to it. I feel like it'll be like a Star Trek and I am not down for that.
It's nothing like Star Trek, it's really well done, but it doesn't quite HOOK me for some reason. I feel similar about Battlestar Galactica as well...

It's the show that Joss Wheedon always wanted to make. He did buffy and angel, but those weren't 'his' shows. I wasn't really a fan of buffy or angel... they had hot chicks on them, so they grabbed my attention occasionally, but Firefly was the show that Wheedon wanted to represent him as a director/writer/etc.
Anyway, i think it's really good character writing & development, (the science... not so good). Compared to 99% of all the other sci-fi shit out there, this was gold. (See Andromeda, Sharknado & Sharktopus).
Some don't like it. To each their own. Those that DO like it, LOVE it. just sayin.
