So this show was back before Wrestlemania 25 and back when WWE used to put the Elimination Chamber before Wrestlemania. Usually out of the two Chamber matches they had on the PPV, atleast one was for a second chance to get into the main event at Wrestlemania and be the #1 contender for the title. This one was kind of odd, because both of the matches were for the belts. I remember this not even starting any of the Wrestlemania build or even hinting at the feuds that are up coming besides maybe HHH vs. Orton. For some odd reason this one always stick out to me though. As a stand alone event is was a pretty solid show.

Triple H defeated Edge (c), The Undertaker, Big Show, Jeff Hardy and Vladimir Kozlov
- Great way to start off the show. They took the Paul Heyman idea back from December to Dismember to have the champ lose the belt right away. Edge loses the belt int he first 5 minutes, Jeff pins him and gets the good rub, and remember how popular Hardy was back in 2009? I swear he was one of the most popular wrestlers in the world at that point. I thought it was BS they gave him such a short title reign. Anyways this is a really good Chamber match, its one of my favorites, mostly for the exchange at the end between Taker and Triple H which is classic. Triple H manages to put Taker down. Yeah we won't even acknowledge Vladimir Kozlov...

Randy Orton defeated Shane McMahon
- Randy Orton had a mental condition for a few weeks back in 2009. Apparently he wasn't in control of his actions at all. The story is he attacked Vince and put him in the hospital. So Shane showed up to save the day and it sets up for this match. The one thing about this match is that it didn't make Orton look to great. He is going on to main event Mania, yet they have him taken to the limit by a part timer in Shane McMahon? Then you have your typical Legacy run in, Shane gets rid of them, highlighting it with a coast to coast onto a garbage can. Then the finish, Shane is all offense, and then Orton slips in a lucky RKO for the win. Why does a guy just getting into the prime of his career and probably in the best condition of his life need that weak of a finish? This should have been dominant. I mean he does have that disorder.. I forgot the name of it.

Jack Swagger (c) defeated Finlay
Every PPV had to put a filler ECW Championship match on the card out of obligation. The weird thing is that the matches always underachieved on the PPVs but on ECW they always were solid. Anyways this is filler. Nothing really of note here. Finlay was pretty much towards the end of his in ring days in the WWE at this point I'm pretty sure. Just a cheap win for Swagger. Sometimes you just forget who was all ECW Champion.

Shawn Michaels defeated John "Bradshaw" Layfield
I hated this storyline so much. Shawn Michaels made some bad investments apparently and had to go to work for JBL. Of course that didn't really work out, so it all built up to this match! If Shawn wins he gets his freedom, if JBL wins, JBL gets the rights to Shawn's name and HBK will have to be a slave forevvvvvvveeeeer! I'll give Shawn and JBL credit though, they tried their hardest to really get this over, but it just stunk. The match itself was pretty good, they told a good story, and was overall fun to watch. At one point JBL managed to piss off Shawn's wife who was sitting in the audience and she slapped him. I remember being so relieved this whole story was over with.

This is where the PPV gets crazy.

Edge defeated John Cena (c), Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Mike Knox and Kane
So Kofi Kingston is supposed to be in this chamber match. During his entrance Edge attacks him and basically steals his spot. Which MADE NO SENSE at the time. Now the next night on Raw Vickie went out and said she okayed it because she was the highest ranking WWE official at the event that night. Why wait till the next night? Anyways. This match was also very fun. Rey Msyterio really tore the house down in this chamber. Sometimes you have to miss Rey, even at this point he was injured all the time and rarely there though. The only one who doesn't belong is Mike Knox, I can now vaguely remember him getting a short push for a while. The best part of this match up was at the end, I think their were three people left. Mysterio, Edge, and John Cena. So Cena takes a 619 from Mysterio then a spear from Edge, then Edge pins Cena clean. Now that was shocking. Like the other chamber match we get to ponder who is going to leave champ. Then the mini match starts. Man these two chambers were errily similar now that I look back on it. Anyways, we all knew Edge was going to win, but Mysterio did a heck of a job at the end making us believe atleast two times that maybe he'd slip away with it. Edge retains through some really shady circumstances. They should have had Vickie come out at the start.

Rating: 7/10

When I think back about the PPVs I really have liked from the last 10 years, this one always manages to stick out. They don't add many matches in between the two chambers. The chamber matches themselves were very good and both ending just had you going nuts. It was a well layed out PPV and at the time I watched it, I think I downed it because all I could think about was the Mania build. Looking back, by itself, its a fun watch. Its PPVs like these that really make you miss Edge. Just all his crazy eyes and facial expressions. He was just one of my favorite heels of all time, because he wasn't one of those heels who was cool to cheer. Like he was easy to boo. Anyways thanks for reading!
