I thought Breeze would be a lifer but he got promoted. I expect Corbin will be too. I hope Eva Marie never comes up again but no doubt she will.

I reckon Apollo Crews will be. Just can't see anything great in him at all. Same with Enzo Amore.
Crews is awesome, no 240lb man on the main roster can do this.

or this

He just needs to improve on his promo and he's done.

I don't know what you are watching Ben. Enzo and Apollo are two of the brightest prospects in NXT. Apollo has a great look and is good in the ring. Enzo and Cass are entertaining as hell and should be the next NXT Tag Champs.

Apollo is athletic as fuck, but he just makes me think of Lasley as he has the exact same look - it's almost a copy and paste job on physique. The few times I've seen him wrestle (admittedly, I haven't caught too much NXT recently) he's been doing my head in by smiling all match like a goon, which probably distracts me more than it should. Has he learnt to put a match together properly yet? I think the last match of his I saw it was like watching Cena from a year or two ago going against a midcarder - just going through the motions and didn't flow in the slightest between moves.
Enzo, no. As a tag team with Cass he could do pretty well. Are they a tag team though? Last I heard he was still on his own, occasionally tagging with Cass. From what I've seen when he's on his own, he's not as good as what's been called up and can't see him being that good. Tag teaming on the other hand... that'd suit him much better imo and he'd do well. Things might have changed since I last watched properly, but last I saw he was still on his own. I think the best way I can say it is that he's like Matt Hardy to me - great as part of a tag team with the right guy, and Cass looks like he could be the right partner, but on his own I just can't see it. If they're officially a team now though, then I retract my statement about him being an NXT lifer.
Maybe I just need to catch up with NXT more, I've been pretty slack recently.
Okay, I've seen a lot of people on the internet saying how good Crews is and that he could be one of the next best wrestlers out of NXT... so I guess he's improved massively since I last saw him properly. Good on him then.
They've been a prominent part of the tag division for a while and killing it too. There were some injuries but they are back in the mix.
And yeah, Apollo is talented. He's done quite a lot in the Indies too so he has decent experience.

So we were wrong with most of these... Anyone want to take guesses on the next NXT "lifers"? See what we can get wrong come the next batch of call-ups?
At this rate I'm starting to think Samoa Joe is a lifer 😋

Hopefully Roode isn't. Far too good to be in NXT for too long, even if it probably is better for him than the main roster where he could get lost in the shuffle.
Even though I do find Tye Dillinger kind of entertaining, I can't see him going further than NXT. He'd disappear like Breeze if he did.
It's tough to decide though... I mean Corbin, Mojo and Carmella made it up so anyone could really.
In hindsight, there has been an unforeseen brand split where literally anybody can get called up because they need bodies to fill it out.

I've been watching NXT & Breaking Ground for a while now. Obviously the whole point of a development system is that the best move up to the main roster. Well there are some who don't look like they are ever going to make it to the main roster. And I'm not talking about the guys like Rhyno & Samoa Joe who have been brought in to help the inexperienced get better. I'm talking about this lot.
Baron Corbin: He has a really interesting look but his wrestling ability leaves a lot to be desired. His offense is pitiful and looks weak for a big guy. His hairline is one of the oddest I've ever seen. Its looks like he's grew it long to hide the balding. Has the personality of a brick. Decent finisher though.
Bull Dempsey: Fat slob with no ability. They brought him in as a rugged big guy who was about as lethal as a mouse. They've switched him to babyface to make light of his rotund physique and now used as comedy fodder. Scary thing is, he's been wrestling for 10 years and is still this bad.
Mojo Rawley: I have no idea what this guy is supposed to be. He's like a gigantic man-child who now has Zack Ryder as a babysitter to stop him getting too hyped. The whole gimmick, party persona seems so forced. Also everytime he runs his belly wobbles up and down.
Tino Sabbatelli There is a lot of upside to this guy, great body and bonafide heel. When you see this guy, even when he's being genuine you just think, dickhead. What he lacks is his wrestling ability. Only been training for a year, he's been having matches but they were young Chris Masters level bad. He has time to improve but with an NFL career and recent concussion he may be a cause for concern.
Dana Brooke Another one with a lot of upside. She looks great and is very athletic. Biggest problem with her is her lack of experience. Positioning and timing are off point. Working through a sequence of moves, she can't comprehend them all quick enough and gets gobbled up. They showed her training with Asuka and she was run ragged to the point where she took a bad bump, landed wrong and hurt herself.
Any others?
