I laughed out loud when i saw the brackets for the first time and said to my fiancee that they have such a pathetic main even scene right now... just wow.
I read a few of the smackdown spoilers. so this is a mild spoiler for only one match in the tournament. here it comes so don't read anymore if you don't want to be spoiled... i can't find the spoiler tag either. 🙁
i'm so surprised that Kalisto is in the tournament and i'm sorry to spoil it but he goes over rhyback on smackdown.

my guess is that the finals will be Reigns vs Ambrose/Owens. if it's a face vs face match like Ambrose and Reigns then i would expect somebody to turn heel and i think after last night it should be Reigns who turns... it would be similar to the rocks first title win at survivor series 98. when the rock won the tournament and joined the corporation ... either way though they need a real new heel to step up.
I'm assuming Rusev is out with injury right now? i expected him to be in the tournament.
Yeah Rusev has a bicep injury I believe. Definitely injured though.
And when you don't think it can get worse, Smackdown proves that it can. Jesus man, I know one of them had to go over, but there should clearly be only one winner of that round and it's Ryback.
I really do hope that the semi and the final deliver.
I'll look at adding the spoiler tag back to the toolbar - it does still exist and work though, just have to type it at the moment.
It is a joke, yeah. They're obviously leaving out better options like Wyatt and New Day, but still, they wouldn't be a huge step up from Stardust and Miz.
None of it matters anyway, Reigns was going to beat Rollins and now he's going to win this. The best we can hope for is an Ambrose heel turn or some kind of Survivor Series screwjob.
I just think it's sad really... even with those guys thrown in the main event scene looks really bad when you see it set up that way.... maybe its just because it didn't seem like a really big deal on raw... i'm not sure. anyways yeah i hope we can see something interesting to end the show and change the main event scene a little bit... they really need to work on making all the other guys look like they could be legit main eventers though.... it wasn't that long ago when it seemed like they actually could do that.
After watching the Ryback vs Kalisto match I have absolutely no problem with Kalisto going over. He looked great in that match and we don't see enough upsets these days. And if this is a start of a push for Kalisto, I can't say I have a problem with that either. Ryback looked pretty good throughout the match so the loss didn't exactly hurt him.

I highly doubt he's getting a push from this. He's still part of a tag team - if they were splitting up there'd be some leaked news about it.
I'm actually hopeful for the semi-finals being good. Would be nice to see them at the PPV as well instead of just having the final there. Just a real shame that Cesaro won't be in the semi finals... or Ziggler.
Quarterfinal matches scheduled for RAW tonight are:
* Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro.
* Kalisto vs. Alberto Del Rio.
* Kevin Owens vs. Neville.
* Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose.
I would love to be surprised and see Cesaro go over Reigns. Won't happen though as it's pretty obvious that he'll end up with the belt come the end of Survivor Series - not that I mind.
Looks like the Semi's will be at the PPV which is nice. So either the US and IC champs are pulling double duty, or neither belts are being defended at the PPV, as I'd be very surprised to see either of them knocked out tonight with who they're going against.
Anyone else disappointed by who was in this?
This was the starting point. Why is Kalisto and Titus O'Neil included? Why is The Miz included? Why include Sheamus when he's the MITB holder (say he won, what happens with the MITB?)?

It's not just about who's in it though. Perfect opportunity to advance Breeze, but to have him lose straight off just seems stupid.
Is Ryback vs Kalisto WWE title worthy? No, it is not. Not in the slightest. Every match in this short tournament should be title match worth really.
Reigns - yes.
Big Show - past it, but a former champ so yes.
Cesaro - yes, one of the best.
Sheamus - yes, former champ, but don't think he should be in this really.
Del Rio - yes, former champ, but not going to win as he's US champ, so pointless really.
Stardust - if it was Cody Rhodes, yes... but Stardust is booked like a chump, so no.
Kalisto - what a joke, no.
Ryback - nope.
Titus O'Neil - nope.
Kevin Owens - yes, but he won't win as he's IC champ so pointless really - but we can allow this easily as he is one of the best.
Neville - not booked like he should be in this, so no.
Barrett - booked like a chump 90% of the time, which is a shame as he has everything to be a top guy.
Ziggler - yes, one of the best.
Miz - might be a former champ, but is booked as such a loser, so no.
Ambrose - yes, he's good and booked well.
Breeze - if they were going to book him to get to the semi or the final, then yes... give him a great start to being on the main roster. Otherwise no (turns out they did waste him completely).
So that's 8 out of 16. That's not good enough, especially when you think that there are only 3 other people that would be in this if they weren't out - Cena, Orton and Rusev.
Why not put Kane in it? Bray Wyatt? Sure they have an on-going feud, but they don't have to go past the first round. Should be a lot closer to all worthy of being in the tournament than only half. When looking at it like this, you can see why they have the US, IC and MITB holders in the tournament even though you know they'll never win it... because there is no one else. The semi-finals have to only contain people that deserve to be there.
Anyway, I reckon the final will be Ambrose vs Reigns with Reigns winning and Ambrose turning on him at the end.
