I love it, altho the new companion was weak.

I've started collecting the old ones on DVD. I grew up watching Tom Baker as Doctor Who so always loved it. So trying to collect them all... it's going to be expensive and a huge collection, but totally worth it.

Shame Matt Smith is leaving at the end of the year. I wasn't a fan of his when he started, but I love him now, he's been great in the role and has turned into one of my favourites. Real shame to see him leave.

Do people over 12 seriously watch Dr Who? It's like the shittest childrens show on the planet.

I've got the mental age of a 10 year old, so I'm still qualified to watch...

I like Dr Who and as for Matt Smith I think he has grown into the role well and become a great Doctor and as for the new companion, I don't think Clarissa is a bad companion as an actress etc I just think that the story has been pretty weak.  Because they have not had the chance to bring about the chemistry etc, it was done well as a long running ark, but that's all it has been.. To the Doctor, Clarissa was just a problem he wanted to solve, not someone he necessarily wanted to be with, whereas in previous companions, they have had a relationship as such with the doctor and he and the public grew to care about them and their story and even there back story etc..  Yet with the new companion, all we have got is a means to an end.

It will be interesting to see who will be the next Dr Who though as this will be the 12th incarnation and thus the last Dr Who.. but we all know in TV land, the BBC will find some way to increase the amount of times a Doctor can regenerate or something especially if the new Doctor only lasts for 1 or 2 series before deciding they want to quit..

I go in circles with doctors.  I used to watch the original series and it was ok (Peter Davidson was my doctor).  I really like Chris Ecclestone as an actor, so he got me into the new series.  David Tennant was ok, I didn't like him at first, but he grew on me to the point where he became my favorite doctor when he was playing off of the great John Simm (altho I almost stopped watching when they brought in Catherine Tate, who should never be allowed near a tv camera as she is possible the least talented female comedienne ever, and it's a pretty comprehensive list...).  Hated Matt Smith at first as it was obvious they were targeting a younger market, but I loved Karen Gillan and she brought the best out of Matt Smith.

The new companion, again, seems aimed at the younger audience.  I think she's a pretty terrible actress as well.  Be interesting who takes over as the doctor as this series has been so poor I may not tune back in.  Heard Idris Elba's been mentioned, which wouldn't work at all (despite him being an awesome actor), and Catherine Tate was also mentioned which would mean I'd never watch again...  John Hurt would be good, but it all depends on what happens with the three doctors storyline.

Personally, they should go with a darker storyline.  David Tennant started that way at the end of one of his series (I think it was his second series, but not sure), but then at the start of the new series he was back top normal and the darkness went.  Shame as I think it would have been good.

I just really don't like hearing the stories where people are saying that the 12th Doctor should be a female Doctor... I think that would be just equality gone to a stupid degree... and I don't think I could ever watch it again...

Mid Card

I absolutely loathe the Doctor. He is the biggest Villian on TV.

Once a man would spend a week patiently waiting if he missed a stage coach, but now he rages if he misses the first section of a revolving door.

I've been saying this to people. I'm fed up with hearing how the next Doctor should be a woman or black. Why? That'd be just changing it for the sake of it. Would really put me off if they changed his race or sex as it'd be done purely for 'equality'.

Easy way around it is pulling it back to that episode where they were in Nazi Germany. The Doctor was hurt and River Song gave him some of her regenerations. I'm pretty sure as well that it's been mentioned before, in the old series, that Time Lords can earn more regenerations... can't remember properly though.

Regarding John Hurt, he's meant to be the real 9th Doctor, the one in-between Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston - bridging the gap. He's the one who was there during the Time War and the one that the Doctor wasn't want to remember or ever be known as, as it was a ruthless incarnation. So that makes Matt Smith's Doctor the 12th. It's certainly doing to make the 50th interesting going through all this. Can't wait.
