Rey Mysterio released

It'll be nice to see him in Lucha Underground.

If he can stay healthy long enough.

I heard he was the 2nd best merch monkey in the E. Surprised he's been released, unless vince is able to keep selling his stuff and not pay Rey. Who owns the character (or is it his real name)

Disliked him as a wrestler tbh. Worst finisher I can ever recall, and can't say I ever enjoyed any of his matches.

He wasn't released, his contract expired. They wanted him to resign, offered him loads of money and used every trick they could to extend his old contract, but he's been wanting to get out for a while. He'll show up in Triple A before too long, he and Konnan are good friends.

He owns the name, he's been using it forever and his uncle used it before that.

I'm sure he had that rolling contract by hinge,  where if he misses a certain amount of time in the ring then the E can automatically resign him?

4FW have got him booked for a show in July at Swindon M.E.C.A. They've also got Alberto Del Rio for a show in May at the same venue.

Yep, pretty much. They said he was out with injuries so they could claim the time back, so he had to wait another year or so. I'm not sure why that's not the case now, he still hasn't worked for them, but apparently it doesn't matter.
