I think the bravery thing is mostly about coming out to parents. You never quite know how conservative parents would react to that kind of thing. Or maybe you do and that's the problem.
But yep, this would have been a pretty hilarious situation to work their way out of. No way would Vince want 'the gay guy' to become the top guy Bryan is now.

Well they have a ready made gay guy in Darren Young if they wanna go down this route in future lol

Wonder how that would have worked out. Isn't there still a good amount of Americans who are against gay people? Just like there is in some other countries.
I don't get why they feel they need to have a gay character. But then I don't get why people make a big deal about people coming out saying that they're brave - surely saying they're brave means they have something to be afraid off? But off all the famous people that I've seen come out recently has either been greeted with "alright, that's nice" or "we knew they were anyway, it was obvious". A lot of people just don't care anymore - or is that just over here (apart from the small minority obviously who will likely never go away).
Makes me wonder if they still want to do this, as they have Darren Young who wouldn't actually be playing a character. Although it'd be sad if he got a push just because he's gay.
