OH man! Regal was on the end of RAW? Damn it, I knew i shouldn't have fallen asleep during it.
From what I remember it was a good show, more on that later..
Once a man would spend a week patiently waiting if he missed a stage coach, but now he rages if he misses the first section of a revolving door.
Well, here we go again.. This isn't a review, just simply my thoughts as I'm watching the show...
We kick off with the "Last week on Raw" seg and then straight into the first match, both centered around Trips and the McMahons, well atleast this shows what they are more bothered about I guess... the rest of the roster doesnt need a toryline, but as long as Trips and Vince are in a story then who cares...
I do struggle to get involved in this storyline, it started out looking like they were going to do a concusion toryline, which in hindsight I am all for as it would highlight the dangers etc, but the fact both Last week and this week, they have said that Trips IS medically cleared to wrestle, then they obviously are not going down the concussion storyline, because he is medically cleared... If they had Trips trying to fight bu Vince and Steph not letting him because he want medically cleared etc then I could understand it more.. And it never says much that 3 weeks ago we had Trips being told he wasnt cleared to wrestle and he threatened to fire the Doc.. that doesnt go well for any kind of medical storyline.
Vince coming down to the ring as the match got started kind of tells the story of how this was going to unfold... If they had to do the forced ending with Vince telling the time keeper to end it etc, then I was happy Trips tried to restart it, showing he is still a boss here etc...
Just cant help but feel that it is Curtis Axel that is losing in all of this situation as he should be getting made to look strong after his rebranding, and all these Count Out victories he is getting every week etc just makes him look weak
I thought this would have been over after the break, but here we go with crocdile tears from Steph bringing the kids into it again...
Kane vs Dean Ambrose, well im all for having Ambrose wrestle some singles competition, I would like to see him become a proper fighting champion, defending the title every week on Raw, am also liking the "Lets Go Ambroe" Chants from the fans.. The match was slow, but i enjoyed it and then the usual arrival of The Shield only to be stopped by Bryan and Orton..
Happy with the result of the vota to have D-Bry vs Seth Rollins, every time we have a tag team match, i have alluded to it before that seeing Rollins and D-Bry in the ring makes me wish it was 1 on 1, so atleast now we get to see it.
In the segment with Kane, D-Bry and Orton, i think the best thing i heard was Kane say "This doesnt Make Any Sense"
So after seeing on 4w that the IC Title match includes Curtis Axel, I am curious going into this Miz match as to how he gets involved in the match at Payback.. Fandango being out with a concusion, isnt necessarily a bad thing because I cant stand the character or the storyline or anything about the IC Title scene at the moment... Miz still needs to be turned heel, the sooner the better... Miz wins with the figure Four, burying the once rising Cody Rhodes and here comes Heyman, I guess thats how Axel gets involved, maybe this means Axel will no longer be fighting Main Event talent.. One thing though, he needs to learn to talk a bit before he is allowed on the microphone again...
Just in case you forgot what happened 45 minutes ago, here we have the replays.. thank god for that, I have a bad memory..
So Vince is using the same line he has used since Montreal, Business comes first.. But i fail to see how Trips wrestling is bad for business... ah well, bad acting as usual...
Nice to hear what Jericho had to say, but its always bad knowing that Jericho is going to lose, like he always loses the big matches because he is just there to put the other talent over etc.. Apt for Ziggler to interupt though knowing their history, I would like to have seen WWE made a bigger deal about Ziggler's welcome back to Raw etc, but i guess thats what happens when the World Title is viewed as a mid card title, slightly above the IC Title.. (Makes me think about where the titles rank compared to previous titles etc, Ill make a new thread about this though... reminder to self haha) Would have much preferred to see Zigs vs Jericho, as it would have stole the show, makes me wonder if he has been cleared to wrestle yet or not, but here we get Big E instead, and I am still hoping to see some kind of split from Big E and Ziggler... I guess Ziggler was cleared though with Del Rio getting physically involved with him, so now im just disapointed they never had Ziggler vs Jericho.... Big E loses but was funny seeing a bit of an in joke thing between Jericho and King after King got told last week by Jericho he look good and King returns the favour haha...
Cesaro entering the ring and walking a little more caveman style it seems than his prim and proper style, so I guess he is changing things up a little bit with his character, shame we wont see no more yodeling haha Not sure what to make of Zeb being at ringside, but it was an alright matchup I guess for a Sin Cara match anyways..
Wyatt family promo, and it definatly seems like the Wyatt Family is growing from what it is in NXT, or maybe this is just done for promo purposes, makes sense to have more than the 3 of them though as we already have The Shield and 3MB, so could do with a 4 or 5 faction as well, reminds me of 10 years ago when there were always a few good bigger factions etc...
Pointless product placement segment with Vikki and Brad Maddox
Not really interested in watching Randy Orton wrestle, can almost envisage how its going to go in my head, lets Fast Forward and see if im right... Watched it on 6x speed so i still got the jist of it and only stopped when Daniel Bryan came in and went flying haha No need for entrances again though, lets just get on with the next matchup, the crowd seemed to wake up for the very first time with the Yes Chants.. No fat forwarding for this match though as I have been looking forward to this. Was a great match, definatly best of the show, which isnt hard I guess, some good move and counters etc, could have happily carried on watching this match for alot longer, but they got a decent length match i suppose so cant complain too much and I was especially happy with a clean ending and win for D-Bry, which i didnt expect and was glad it happened, as it should with the former World Champion etc...
Oh goody, the same McMahon and Trips replay as we saw an hour earlier just to remind us in case we forgot again...
And the biggest storyline of the year... Kaitlyns secret Admirer is..... Well as soon as we saw Big E, you knew it was a set up for AJ etc, so Kaitlyns biggest storyline she has had since winning the world title turns out to be a way to set up AJ to win the title... I guess it could have been worse, it could have been Hornswoggle hiding under the ring with a laptop...
Damien Sandow vs R Truth, not sure what to think of this, but i was a little freaked out by Kings look of lust as he was staring at that Burger with more shameless product placement and even a description of the burger by Michael Cole... I actually expected this match to be used for Ryback just to interfere and put someone through a table, but Sandow got a singles victory which was good, but then Sheamus had to go and spoil the whole show and actually appear... I guess the Payback kick off show has had more advertising than mot other matches on the card though...
So we get more of this Trips and McMahon storyline.. and both times Steph said to meet her in "Our Office" so surely if it was a joint office between Vince, Steph and Trips, then that would suggest that they had bee in there at some point together tonight anyways... Oops... and within 2 minutes, everyone is in the office together, i guess they weren't that hard to find... teph now playing the good guy after she started it last week by telling Trips he couldnt wrestle... Now Vince goes from the big bad boss to sucking Trips ass and then it all goes to a big love in and everyone loves each other and Vince is right and now we get the old Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck switcharoo and an awkward hug... What awful TV..
I dont see the point in this end bit either, im glad we havnt had John Cena or Ryback on the show so far, as I cant stand either really.. But the show has been all about Trips and McMahons... Cant stand hearing Ryback talk and being the big bad guy after he entered in the back of an ambulance again... I just cant believe Ryback as a legitimate contender for the title etc Ryback keeps talkings about the same stuff, and yet he is the one to say "How Original" to Cena... Maybe he thinks that is being cutting edge, i mean OMG... Bored of him... I even actually looked forward to Cena talking on the mic to shut up Ryback and that has to speak volumes... Now we get the usual battle with Lumberjacks keeping them seperated etc, I guess Regal must have been happy, getting his trunks on just to hold Ryback back haha
