I have heard his past few podcasts where he is talking about training and dropping hints of a return to the ring for WM32... i think it's too late though... he wasn't wrestling very good at all in his last year as a full time wrestler...spinal chord injuries just really get worse as you age.. he isn;t going to feel very good if he has a match especially if he is waiting almost two years for this to happen at 32..... i think he will be turning 52 that year... and who would he wrestle? CM Punk made sense but if he is really prepping a lawsuit against wwe then i doubt Punk returns anytime soon... i won't say never as plenty of dudes sued mcmahon and still came back.
I'm a big Austin fan and always will be...but i think he should leave the boots and vest in the closest and not wrestle...same for the rock but for different reasons there.
Stone Cold Steve Austin. No other name in wrestling turns me into a 10 year old mark quite like that one. I was a Hulkamaniac when I was 3-5, but I started watching wrestling properly in 1998 when I was 10, and the Texas Rattlesnake became my favourite. I fell in love with the other crazy characters like the Undertaker and Mick Foley, and the years went by Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk were added to my favourites list. But ultimately, Stone Cold will always top it.
Do I want to see Stone Cold come back for one last run? Hell yeah! What? Hell yeah! What? HELL YEAH!!!
Nevertheless, am I concerned about Stone Cold having one last run? Am I concerned that it could be one huge disaster? Hell yeah I am.
Austin himself has said he's got one last run in him, and he rolled around on Tough Enough and on Raw when he had that brawl with Alex Riley a few years ago. With a bit of training and with a safe opponent, I think he'll be fine. And that's the thing. A safe opponent.
The talk at the moment is Austin vs. Lesnar. I guess it'd make a bit of money, and there's some legit history. But I don't want to see that. Lesnar's pretty aggressive and he could endanger Austin's neck. So he'd need someone safer. Who's left that could pair with Austin for a big match feel?
CM Punk, but he's gone. Triple H would be a much safer option than Lesnar, and even though we've seen it before, it'd still be pretty cool. But Austin vs. Triple H at this stage would be pretty pointless. What would it bring?
My preferred option is Austin vs. the Taker at Mania 32. It's fresh, the last time they feuded was 2001, and the last time they had a singles feud against each other was in 1999 during the Corporate Ministry days IIRC. Austin's a big name to add to Taker's list, and with the Streak over, we don't know who'd win. I'd make it the proper retirement match for the two, their last ever match. It's in Dallas, where I believe they both started wrestling, so it'd be really emotional for them and for the Texas crowd.

I hope this doesn't happen. I loved Austin, as did most wrestling fans, but with how long he's been out for and his neck problems, I'd rather not see him make a comeback. On screen character, sure, why not. He's a great talker and could teach some of the younger guys. In a match though, no thanks. Who ever he's against would have to be so safe on him, or just be completely on sided in Austin's favour that it'd be pointless.
What does anyone else think though?
