It's just a panic reaction since Bryan and Reigns are both out. Orton sucks as a face, he shouldn't be turning now only to turn back in January. They'd be better off just not killing Ambrose and building up a couple of potential future top guys like Cesaro. It may help to give a quick call up to Devitt or Steen, since they're obviously ready, and give them a big push out of the gate. Neville and Zayn are good to go too if needed.
But Orton? I know they want proven big names to sell house shows but damn. Bad move.
Orton turning face makes sense story line wise though. He use to be the Authorities golden boy, now he has to take a back seat to Rollins and clean up his mess from all the enemies he started, him turning on them makes the most sense. Not to mention it will help cement Rollins as the number 1 heel.

Oh it makes sense. They already have him saying that he's fed up of putting out fires that Rollins keeps starting. It's just that he sucks as a face and is such a good heel.
Apparently WWE are working towards making Orton a face again. Bloody marvellous. I like the guy, he's a great athlete and can have some great matches. But he's one of those guys that is naturally suited to being a heel. He does not make a good face. They'll probably manage to make it work because people like the RKO, but he's one of those guys that I think should stay in one particular role, and that's as a heel.
