Things like this make me laugh. The best person for the job should get the job. People shouldn't be getting interviews or jobs over better qualified people just because they're black, a woman or have a disability. If they're good enough then they'll do fine.
When more black guys start going into management I'm sure we'll see a rise in black managers. But honestly, how many black players do you hear talking about going into management when they retire? None? Yet guys like Owen, Giggs, the Nevilles, Shearer etc discuss it and go into coaching or train to be a manager. It's not a racism thing, it's clearly that the white players are the ones going for it.
Who gives a shit if Hughton is the only black manager in the Premiership? Can anyone name a decent black manager that hasn't retired? No, I didn't think so.
It's not racism... it's simply that there's no black manager that's good enough. When some good ones step forward I'm sure we'll see more. They have to be good enough and step up on their own accord though, you can't force teams to interview people just because they're black.
It's also a lot to with the old timers never moving on. Once you've managed a club, you're in the system and just get moved around. Even the worst managers never really drop below the Championship. Big clubs take proven managers, new guys have to start at the bottom.

Racism isn't as simple as you guys make it out as. The reason I believe there is only one black manager in the PL is because A) most managers in the PL are old by our standards, back when they were getting their badges the country wasn't as acceptable as it is now and B) beause a lot of the top flight managers today come from European countries who either don't have a large black population or they were the best of the batch.
I'm sure it'll be different in 15-20 years though.

This is so ridiculous. Do they really think the reason there's only one black manager in the Premier League is because the big bosses are racist? In this day and age, no-one is going to pick a white guy over a black guy just cos he's white.
It's really just a coincidence, a combination of not enough black people compared to white people applying for the jobs and due to that, there being more white qualified than black qualified. If you got a full list of black and white managers, white managers would be a much bigger list so obviously there's gonna be more white managers in the Leagues.
Surely, no-one actually thinks that this is really an issue?
To me, it just seems like their fishing for publicity.
