How awesome is this show? It's a really cool scenario. Imagine a world without power. How would you survive? Who would lead? Would the world break down into smaller regional governments? All of this is pretty cool shit. Seeing how things would look 15 years without electricity is awesome. I think this is a pretty accurate interpretation of how society would look. People are violent by nature and the people with the most guns runs the government. Anyone else watching?

My brother goes on about it all the time. Says its great. I have five episodes downloaded but I haven't had a chance to watch them yet. I will definitely at some point though. I was really intrigued when I saw the trailer.

Almost God like? Maybe...

I've watched the first two episodes, and pretty much hate it so far.  My girl likes it, so I'll continue to watch it and hope it improves.

Basically, I hate the Ryan Reynolds effect it has.  Anyone remember the Blade films?  One and two were awesome, but then Reynolds starred in 3 and wisecracked his way to ending the series.  That's Revolution.  The guy from Twilight just has too many one liners. Its too American as well.  15 years of no electricity and yet everyone has perfect stubble, teeth, hair and make up.  It also would seem that only good looking people can survive without electricity...

It may improve, and certainly the opening scenes were very good.

Have to say, I really hope all the good guys die tho...  Especially the girl.  How annoying is she!??!

I was really looking forward to this series when it was announced etc, especially because of the people who are behind creating and producing it etc, and I havnt been overwhelmed since it began but also I havnt been totally disappointed either..

The series has been given a second series now, which gives me a bit more confidence in watching it as I always hate just getting into a series then to have it cancelled after one series etc

The main girl is the most annoying part of the whole show. Would be quite happy to see her character die. They could have picked a better looking actress than her as well surely? I think she's fucking ugly as well. Sometimes can look alright, but certainly no better than that on a good day. I mean just look at this...
Revolution_NBC_111512.jpg

They could have done much, much better than her.

Overall though, I find that I can't stop watching it. It's not the best show by a long way, yet I feel that I need to find out what's going on and all that. I'd say it's more intrigue than enjoyment. Not that I think it's a bad show... but there's better on at the moment.

Wow. Don't be so harsh guys. This is the first season of a show on NBC, which has the rep of taking great ideas and fucking them up beyond recognition. So far they have stuck to the story and sure there are some moments of bad acting but it's a TV show and not a big budget movie. Someone mentioned the guy from twilight, but I don't know who they are talking about because I'm not a 15 year old girl or some lonely housewife who actually watched that shit, but I digress.

The story is what has me hooked. It's like wrestling, you have to suspend your disbelief. Sure the teeth thing would be hard to believe but they had scissors and razors back in the day before power. Bah now I am arguing semantics. The show has a great story and besides the few issues with the cast, it's been a really good show so far. I am hooked and I look forward to seeing the story progress. It seems like this is a one season show unless they don't get to turn the power back on at the end. I can't see it lasting more than one due to the only ultimate outcome being the power comes back.

I can't be too harsh on it as I am hooked. Does seem like a one series show, but they've signed up to do another one.

And the Twilight guy is the Uncle... My girlfriend is always saying that he's just not the same in this. Who cares though. I've never seen it so makes no difference to me. Just wish they'd picked a better looking lead actress.

Benji, she is rough, but has a decent rack from certain angles...

Michael, I said about the Twilight thing.  No excuses, I've seen two of the films...  Hated them, but the missus is a fan so I've watched them with her.  I'm happy for everyone to throw rocks at me now...

I've seen 3 (or maybe 4 now) episodes, and it's still really poor.  Just hate the "clever" one liners.  Plus, it's JJ Abrams, and that means he'll stretch it out through flashbacks, add parts to the jigsaw that dont count, and make it totally unbelievable.  He's already introduced the 12 Amulets to restore the power thing, and everyone is getting pointless flashbacks instead of developing their characters organically.  I hated the backstory of the black captain before they revealed that Nate (I think that was his name) was his son.  Even my GF worked out that was his son...  The whole point of the flash back was to show him as a weak guy who has had to adapt to his new surroundings.  Didn't need a flashback for that, but JJ loves them...

Unfortunately, my girl likes it, despite my moaning.  But then, as I already said, she also likes Twilight and me, so she has pretty poor taste...

I feel ya man. My wife watches Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2. And cries over them like they are her friends and I am forced to watch. But what can ya do??

I agree that there are a few too many flashbacks. Maybe I like the premise so much that I am willing to put up with some garbage writing. All I know is that I am pretty stoked to watch each week. It's just a cool idea and I dig it.

haha, mine watches teen mom 2 as well, but I'm (luckily) at work when it's on...

The idea is good, altho its just a basic post-apocalyptic idea which isn't new.  I'd prefer there to be a lot more realism tho.  Less swashbuckling and "he's the greatest killer on the planet" stuff. I'd prefer it to be gritty, with characters suffering with toothache and mundane stuff that we take for granted.  People suffering minor cuts and dying because of no antibiotics.

Obviously, I wouldn't want the whole show to be like this, but I'd want it based in reality and then take slight license, instead of JJ doing what JJ does and go straight to "magic amulets".

The season finale was Monday night and I can in all honesty say, I did not see that shit coming. They fucking nuked the east coast. Then we find out that there is another colony....the United States Colony on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Randall offs himself after launching the nukes and somehow the president of the US finds out about it and a secret service agent says "it's time to go home".

So Randall was working for the President and he got rid of the Monroe and Georgia colonies with nukes. Now POTUS is going back to Washington to restart the Union. Season 2 starts up in the fall. I am now in waiting mode. Now that the power is back on, what happens next?

That was certainly unexpected. Disappointed that Nora had to die, but I guess they had to kill one of the major characters in the finale. As long as Rachel stays alive I'm happy though.

I loved how Neville got the slightest bit of power and instantly went power mad.

Will be interesting to see what they're going to do for the second season. I just assumed that the President had died or was in some secret bunker, not in Cuba. I'm glad they said where it was, as I was sad there thinking "where the fuck is that meant to be?"

Neville's character is awesome. He is such a mercenary. Whoever will give him the best offer, he's down for them. It's funny because the whole season, I never really thought "what happened to the president?" I assumed he died too I guess. I got so caught up in the story, I never really put much thought into it. I guess we will find out more in the fall. Can't wait.

From reading the above comments, I'm really pleased I didn't invest any more time in the show.  Watched the first 4 or 5 and gave up.  Even my girlie stopped watching it!  I've got the episodes saved on my box, so if I'm bored enough I may go back and watch them, but reading that they dropped nukes and there is a 2nd season season just make me more pleased I didn't stay with it.

I'm pleased you guys enjoyed it, but it really wasn't my thing.

Thought I would post this quote from The Show's creator from Comic Con.. It gives me a little hope for Season 2, especially knowing they have recruited Supernatural fellow Ben Edlund, the mad genius who penned some of the Winchesters' most memorable episodes, along with with Farscape and Defiance creator Rockne O'Bannon and CSI:NY's Trey Callaway

"I think we're continuing, you know Monroe is still a villain, our heroes are still struggling to figure out how to be a family. A lot of the emotional storylines are all still there," he said. "But I wanted to push through—let me start over. I'm probably the hardest person on Season 1 that there is. There was a lot of things we did right, I think there was a shitload that we did wrong. I really am aggressively building a better machine for Season 2, and really looking at what worked and what didn't work. If anyone knows the way I run shows, I'm very relentless about hearing how the fans feel and I'm really relentless about that, and I feel like I have something to prove a little bit. So for me, it was the simplicity of the Season 1 storyline that was limiting, ultimately, that was my analysis. It was just about this war, and then it was about should we flip the lightswitch on or off."

By this point, he was getting pretty animated, and it was awesome.

"Should we turn it on or should we turn it off? 'Here's why I want to turn it on!' 'Here's why you shouldn't turn it on!' And it was small, in a way. And yet the canvas was so big that it almost had ADD because we're going from town to town, then we're going to Atlanta. I wanted to make a storyline—and frankly, it's because I really honestly thought that, going into Season 1, the search for Danny would sustain us. Just like how in Supernatural the search for dad—I was like, 'We did the search for dad, we can do the search for Danny.' But we're halfway through the season, and I'm like, 'Oh shit! No one's buying it!' So then I kinda scrambled a little and then it became a little more. But I think the thing we really did right was we pushed through all that story, we brought it to as hot as it could be. We got them to the place where they turned on the power. Even though it was scary for me, and even though I watched a lot of the episodes in Season 1, I was like, 'Huh... a lot of power in this show without power.' Like, when the drones start flying by, I'm like, 'Who am I?' And so, it was really good to push through the looking glass and wrap that story. Because now we can get to a more interesting place, and I'm glad we did it, because they turned the power on but just enough to destabilize the East Coast and now there's no more power forever [Editor's note: whoa!] and the Tower is basically not functioning and that question is completely off the table and we're back to a neo-primitive dangerous world. And now we have this conspiracy of these guys who Randall worked for coming up from Cuba, these patriots, who even though they say they're America, THEY ARE NOT AMERICA. They're a very dangerous and insidious invasion of people who are wearing a Stars & Stripes mask, and we have them, and we have these warlords, our heroes basically changed the laws of physics in The Tower. So it becomes about America! And God! And being chosen! And still can this family stay together. So it's finding storylines that can unfold that I know can sustain over a season and be more interesting and be more provacative, and not just about whether you should flip the lightswitch on. Then on top of that, there's this intimate focus, because we're mostly staying around and in this one town in Texas, where we can get to know people and dig into character. So all these complaints for Season 1, which were we didn't get to know the characters, we're not dug-in enough on the concept, the storyline isn't unfolding in an interesting way, these are things we really listened to hard to build a better engine in Season 2."

Am more please with every post that I ditches this steaming pile of horse shit after 4 episodes.

This show just wants to be Lost, and that was terrible enough. Poor storytelling, poor pacing, poor charactors, poor acting, too many cliches.

Terrible show! It needs to be cancelled soon!

I could only watch 2 episodes b4 I gave up on this show. It was SOOOO bad. People tell me that it got better, but I don;t have time to give this pile of shit a second chance.

Same thing, but WORSE for Defiance. I couldn't get past 10 MINUTES of that shit b4 I gave up on it.

Better than Essa

It really was trying to be Lost, even down to the dramatic screech noises at the end of each scene. Unfortunately, Lost has already been done, and it was great, so there's really nowhere for them to go. They introduced a deal about having 12 pendants and it's important they're not all brought together, and then they were flash drives and some got destroyed. Ok then. Then the power just came back on. Hm. Swerve! The president is still the president! Damn, I'm hooked. Sigh.

I really like this show but only almost as a concept. I find myself talking with my friends about what we do in the world if we were there more often then I find myself caring actually anything about the show.

it's a decent watch though I like the twist and turns and I was totally in love with lost when It was on so I guess I fall into  that demographic.

I'm kind of excited to see what they do with this a president and everything from here forward and knowing that there's no electricity at all is kind of a spoiler, but I'm almost happy about that.

It does have a lot of similarities to LOST in presentation, just line Once Upon a Time has a little tribute to LOST in there.

Also, there's a little tribute to LOST in my 4CW RP that went on the "Flash Back" show.
