WWE network in the UK!

What's the pricing going to be like when it;s eventually available over here? If it's £9.99 I'll be pissed, as if I make it go down the dollar route I'll be saving almost half the price.

They're not even bothering to try to pretend it's anything other than a lifted geoblock. They're actually charging $9.99. Yep, in dollars.

Its just ridiculous.  We should be able to get it by now. They complain about lack of subscribers but block one of their biggest fan bases.

This isn't even funny. It's almost millennium WCW bad.  I'm seeing a WWE show on Thursday.  I'll let you guys know how hostile the crowd is!

You guys still haven't gotten network yet? it was supposed to be out in October... that's messed up and you guys probably wont even get the free month deal either... since i renewed my subscription i can't get the free month and my original contract stands as well i can't cancel... i understand how it works but that's still messed up.

If you really like the ideas or what you may have seen from the original shows they have or want to go back and see matches or shows from before your time or that you haven't seen in sometime.. it's very much worth it and in a way i feel like i'm robbing them of money... it's worth it especially if you have the option to cancel after one month.

Heard they were advertising that on Raw, hadn't actually thought that we'd be missing out on that. That's just going to piss people off even more.

I heard rumours that the delay is down to Sky Sports preventing the launch from happening, given that they have rights to WWE content and PPVs. I suppose WWE didn't want to pay a large sum of money to end that deal and push the WWE network.

So include it as part of sky. But give us some sort of access. Part of sky sports or a standalone thing or even part of their sky store. At the moment their pissing off one of their biggest fan bases.

WWE thinks that patronising us is better than teasing us. Sounds like them.

I heard about them blocking the name out. Were obviously scared of the backlash if they mentioned it.

Sad thing is, from what I've been able to work out, we wouldn't get anything any different than in America, so it's just a case of removing the country block. That's it. So there must be something else going on for it, could well be the deal with Sky, although the majority of the PPVs are on the standard sky sports channels anyways (few are on Sky Box Office), so what's the problem? No one pays for Sky Sports for wrestling. I'd still watch PPVs on Sky Sports as I'd want to watch it on my TV not my phone,as I imagine many would, so they wouldn't lose many viewers I'd imagine. 

Pretty sure all PPVs are on Box Office since the new TV deal earlier this year.

I can understand why they might want to not mention it at all, but they've been playing a video before each event with Vince apologising for the problems.

Are they? Huh, I don't pay for them anyway... I always go around my mates to watch. Thought they were all mainly still on the normal Sky Sports channels. Shows how much attention to that I pay when I go around his.

I'm not 100% on it, but I'm fairly close. They only signed the new deal a few months back and since then I don't remember any being on Sky Sports. I hijack someone else's Sky Go because I don't have Sky Sports myself, and I'd have used it to watch the PPV if it were on there!

Yeah they played that video at the show I went to last week.  The crowd booed it heavily.  Definitely in the top 3 for heat that evening!!

I wish they did the subtitles as well, that would have been funny. Don't know why, but it really annoys me how he says thank you for your patience - the way he says it fits perfectly with the subtitle "shut the fuck up".

He shouldn't have said WWE so much though, he said it so many times that it all started to sound like a right mouthful.

He's so bad at saying WWE too. It already is a mouthful with two Ws in there, but he always ends up saying WE or WB or some other garbled noises.

It is a mouthful!  Pronouncing it the Welsh way, funnily enough, is easier. It'd sound like "ooooh" "ooooh" "air".

Its really not that hard to say though dunno why Vince McMahon has such a hard time.

Well we definitely won't be getting it this year. Vince reckons that they're aiming for the 1st January, but that isn't a promise. So expect it to be delayed again.

And we've got it on the 19th! £9.99 a month with no commitment.  Perfect for me. Sky are still selling PPVs increasing the price to £19.99 instead of the standard £14.99

Nope. They lost me on this one, getting 15 minutes away from launching it at like £6.50 and now bumping it up to £10 for nothing extra. You can actually sign up for the US version and Unblock.us for less than they're asking for the UK version. I'll be sticking to streams.

Yeah that's lost it for me. It's cheaper in America than it is over here. Not doing that then...

That's true, but we're still expected to pay more for exactly the same service just because we live in the UK. It's bad enough that we have to pay for premium channels to watch Raw and SmackDown, this is just taking the piss.
