Usually baseball pitchers get that the most.. but of course others can as well... that's too bad if he needs that surgery he could be back by the end of 2015 but WM 32 seems more likely i feel bad for him.... i haven't read the article you posted but in the past when i have heard this injury and surgery mentioned it's atleast good year until said sports player can return to just practice.
Baseball is such a dyings sport that the few guys who use to talk about it rarely post here anymore... i would say they could probably offer better insight into it then i can... but google helps too 🙂
There's talk that Bryan might have to retire if he doesn't get the surgery that he should have gotten when this injury first occurred. The surgery would put him out of action for quite a while though, and if he doesn't have it he runs a good risk of doing some real serious damage.
I can understand why he wouldn't want the surgery, as it can limit certain things, but if he wants to continue his career it sounds like he really does need it. Wouldn't want him to end up crippled or something.
Anyway, there's talk of having him still making appearances in a non-active role for a while, as there's a new DVD coming out just for him.
To be honest, retirement might be a good option right now... Have him on as a trainer at NXT or something...

Apparently Bryan's issues are no longer with his neck as people thought. It's concussion based, following a match with Sheamus just after Mannia on some tour (or just before the tour). Being told that he might never be able to wrestle again because of it. Fair play on WWE keeping him inactive then, as you'd hate for him to do some serious brain damage to himself (severely worst case being going nuts like Benoit).
It's a shame he might be done because he clearly loves wrestling. I'm sure he'll always be around doing things like Tough Enough and NXT if he never comes back as an active competitor.

Bryan is being sent to see a third doctor. He's said that one doctor has medically cleared him 100%, but the WWE doctor won't as WWE are being very careful with concussion cases, especially with his history of getting concussion. So he's off to see a third one sometime soon. Bryan has said that if this third doctor doesn't clear him then he will retire.
I mean, if he's been cleared by a doctor already he must be somewhat healthy... maybe WWE are doing the right thing by being overly-cautious though, I don't really know enough about his condition to actually comment but it would be a damn shame if he was forced to retire. If he does get cleared I don't see him returning until the Rumble or something. A surprise reveal rather than announcing his return before hand.

It looks like Daniel Bryan is going to finally find out what his future will look like, as the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion is scheduled to meet with the head of WWE Wellness testing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania later this week.
Bryan is expected to travel to Pittsburgh for additional medical testing of some kind during his meeting with the WWE doctor. As noted in the past, Bryan has been cleared by a non-WWE doctor, but he can't and won't return to action until he is given the green light by an official WWE doctor.
Huge meeting for Daniel Bryan this week.
He's only had one so far, the rest of this time has been waiting for it to heal by itself. He was told in August that they could operate or just see what happens, so they waited. Now because things aren't getting any better, he's considering the surgery. Apparently it's not a great surgery to have, so they didn't want to do it unless it was totally necessary.
