Yeah I heard that Bebop and Rocksteady are meant to be in the next one. That, coupled with how much of a surprise this film was, actually makes me look forward to the sequel.

Battleship with Rihanna was on the other day. Watched the first 20 minutes of it and felt like I'd had a lobotomy... had to turn it off... 1/10 from what I was able to sit thru...

Finally watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy and yes it was very good. One thing though is that I really hated Frodo, he just whimpered his way through three films. Plus he never really seemed into much danger of dying and when he was supposed to "magic happened".

Also watched the Matrix Trilogy for the first time. The first one was great, loved it. Reloaded was alright, had some cool action scenes. Revolutions was just garbage. I liked the movies more for their action scenes, not the story. Almost all the characters had nothing to them. The acting wasn't too great either. But it was a revolutionary movie when it first came out I guess, I don't think it has aged that well though. The action scenes are what make it great. I think they tried to get way to complicated.

I have an undying hate for Super Heroes and have never found the interesting at all.  But I did watch all three Spiderman movies (the old ones). They were alright, but why does it seem like in these super hero movies the hero is always getting their ass kicked and always seem like pussies? 2 was probably my favorite one. 3 was the worst as most people think. Eric Foreman as the main villian? Oh and how stupid of a villian is the sandman? There were like 3 bad guys in that movie!

I think the Matrix movies are incredibly over rated... i did really enjoy the first film and a few minutes of part 2 and 3 was just a trainwreck of a movie... but as a whole series it's meh to me.

I do loathe the first movie sometimes for the slow motion bullet dodging that was ripped off or parodied throughout the 2000's... it's not the matrix fault really though... i doubt they expected while making the movie for that to be ripped off to death.

I agree with you Sery that Spiderman 3 is garbage... i only enjoyed part 2 myself.

Just watched Gravity. Not great. I remember reviews of the reboot Tomb Raider game complaining that the whole thing was just bad things happening to Lara, well this film was that with Sandra Bullock.

I loved Gravity. It's definitely a cinema film though as it looked spectacular on the big screen.

I don't see bad things happening to Sandra Bullock as a bad thing...

Gravity was a terrible film. It's amazing how so little can happen in a 90 minute movie. Yawn.

If I Stay - Felt like it could have been a lot better. 6/10

The Theory Of Everything - Really enjoyed this film and Eddie Redmayne is fantastic. 8/10

American Sniper - Another great war film, up there with Jarhead and The Hurt Locker as one of my favourites. 8/10

Lucy - Rushed story with minimal explanation and it all seemed a bit thrown together. Johansson puts in a decent performance but I was disappointed by the overall product. 5/10

And yet, when Hitler released pretty much the exact same film during the war it was labelled propaganda.

Big Hero 6. It's great. Funny and very well done.

I wasn't around then 😋

Taken 3: Better than Taken 2 but it was nothing special. Forest Whitaker was good in the cop role but then he always is. 6/10.

American Sniper was a decent film from an entertainment stance. But it had no foundation of truth from the book it was based on or the film itself . Chris Kyle was a proven liar in court. He said he beat up Jesse Ventura in a bar because Ventura allegedly said, some Navy Seals deserved to die. Kyle also said he got on top of the Louisiana SuperDome and shot 30 looters after Hurricane Katrina.  The film then makes up and adds parts from the book to make those nasty baddies look more despicable. There was no child at the start of the film with the woman. There was no Olympic grade sniper who was trying to get the bounty. Why this bit was added seems ridiculous because it only made me think of Enemy at the Gates which was a much better film about two snipers. And there was no sadistic killer called "The Butcher" who drilled holes in his victims.

I'm going to be watching John Wick tonight or tomorrow... i was wondering if anyone has seen it and if it's as good as most people say... i prefer 4w's opinion over others many times.... this is one of those times... i haven't paid for the rental yet..

also don't spoil the movie... if you want give a summary without spoilers that's fine... but most important is if you did see the movie did you like it or not?

from what i gathered he is like a retired hitman and some dudes kill his dog and try to kill him... but Wick takes it to heart because his dying wife gave that dog to him.. so he is pretty pissed off.... i kinda think of it like a Steven Segal type of story (hard to kill) but with little to none martial arts. hahaha.

I want to watch that, everyone I know that's seen it has said that it's very good. I trust one guys opinion on films more than anyones, and if he says it's class then that's more than good enough for me. So yeah, I really want to see John Wick.

Its pretty good. Its all action, lots of shooting and blood everywhere. See if you can spot the Kevin Nash cameo.

I saw Nash.. loved his bad russian accent haha.

i thought it was a good movie.... not the most amazing movie but one of the better action/revenge movies i've seen in a bit.

8/10 for John Wick.

If you like that kind of thing, The Equalizer with Denzel Washington is pretty much the same film but more drawn out.

More into TV shows but have watched a few movies recently.

Horrible Bosses - Terrible movie and not funny one bit

The Cobbler - Same above

RED - Boring, old cast and just crappy plot. Don't know how it got such high ratings on web sites like rotten tomatoes and a sequel.

Come to think of it,I haven't really seen a good movie in a while. Any good new ones out there guys? That aren't superhero movies.

The joys of being a stay at home dad mean I watch a lot of kids movies... Got How to Train Your Dragon 2 on now.... With Despicable Me, Wreck It Ralph, Tangled and Frozen being other favourites at the moment.

The Cobbler... sheesh, that was a headache. 3/10

Recently watched:

San Andreas (fun action movie) 8/10

Terminator: Genisys (which I heard a lot of people crapping on but I think it's pretty good) 7/10

Ted 2 (not as funny as the first; but still worth watching) 7/10

Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (The first was actually quite good but this one tried too hard to emulate the first's success and didn't quite deliver) 5/10

Insurgent (Haven't read the books but have been following the film series; again, the first one was better (Divergent) but it was a decent film.) 6/10

Trainwreck - it's one of those weird romcom movies where the main actor/actress is actually playing themselves and they try to make everything seem super realistic, like every day conversations actual people have. I've seen a couple of these lately (Simon Hedberg did one which was way worse than this film) and while there are a couple of laughs, it's usually nothing to call home about. 5/10

Pixels - I've heard a lot of hate about this movie but I actually enjoyed it. Sure, it's a goofy Adam Sandler movie with plot holes and questionable logic - but come on, don't take it seriously - it's a comedy! And I got some laughs out of it. The special effects were pretty good too, so no complaints there. 7/10
