Sheeeit. That sucks, I'm a big Walcott fan. He's great with promos too, very well spoken for a footballer. Now we'll have to put up with more Gerrard and his "ehhh, there's work to be done" pessimism.
True that, he does always come across really well in the interviews that I've seen. Even if he wasn't a starter, his pace would have been good to bring on when teams start tiring, like he did at the Euros. Perfect role for him really as he was a game changer. More I think about it, the more I think this really is a loss for England at the World Cup.
Walcott is one of the first names on the England sheet, no way is he an impact sub he's England's best winger. But forget about England, more importantly he's missing the rest of the season with Arsenal, we really needed someone direct who can score in the big games so unless Ox and Gnabry step up we'll suffer there. I doubt Wenger is gonna sign anyone this transfer window, I hope he does with all my heart though.
Walcott suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee during Arsenal's FA Cup win over Tottenham on Saturday. Brutal. Not sure how big a loss it is to England but he's definitely a loss as on his day he can be a top class player.
Definitely time for someone to step up to replace him - whether that be on the wing or up front. As long as we don't go back to old players who just aren't good enough like England have a habit of doing - will give Hodgson props though, he's willing to give guys like Rodriguez and Townsend a chance, more so than previous managers it seems.
Arsenal definitely need to sign another striker now, unless Bentner is going to get a proper chance. But I doubt that.
