4CW 10: Celebrating a Decade of 4CW

Wow, I don't have much to add at the moment but I gotta say this is a great idea

I like the idea, but think it'll be hard to to achieve anything.

Personally, I think we push for the old guys to come back and do something in the build up, but i dont know who would return, or who people are in touch with

Apart from supreme, strung and verno are there any others out there who made an impact? Nichols, me, belly, chux, senecca, RD, skywolf are all here.

I suppose we could try and get KG, cocozo and kondor back, along with KiD, pretty evil and alexandre but i cant see any of them having any interest and they were all pretty short term tbh.

Im interested in this happening, but very stumped as to how.

There's Snake!  Jon Viper, the very first winner of the 4CW Fight Club Tournament, needs to make an appearance this year!  And I've got Fish as a friend on Facebook, but he doesn't seem too interested in 4w these days.  Which is fair enough, he's very busy!  He might be willing to do a one off for this year's Revival maybe ....

I suppose really there's nothing stopping us from using old characters anyway.  It's very cheap and I do wish they'd be involved, or at least give us their blessing, but if we want to book say Chris Crow vs. Cereb, we could ...

You are right though Hilds in the sense that it'll be difficult to achieve much.  I love nostalgia (I've got a history degree so it's natural!) and I'd love to see old guys come back for some one off matches "ECW: One Night Stand" style at Revival or some special "4CW 10" PPV, but I think the best we can give our lil' e-fed for its 10th birthday is to figure out a way to advertise it and attract new guys.  Expand the roster and bring this place to life again.  I've got no idea how to advertise it, but I'm sure there's a way!!

Its a great idea. Even if our roster is limited we could make it feel old school with maybe some clips of hilarious past promos, gimmick matches or even the return of a classic tournament.

Fish is a good call. Cereb and crow Id put into the same bracket as alexandre and cocozo. No major lasting impact.

I also dont think there is any point putting on 'nostalga' matches. People dont read matches now, so they wont read a match with people that havent been here in forever.

Personally, I think we could do with a few segs from the old guys in the build up, and then maybe a battle royale with all of them in it or something.

The aim has to be to keep people here, and gain new people at the same time. Maybe a regular post on roughkut, with the fed details in a banner will srive more traffic here.

I'm not planning anything huge for it, but I will be promoting the fact that it's our tenth birthday. If anyone wants to throw together a few lookback segments to stick between matches, I'll definitely use them. Maybe we could have some short interview soundbites from old names as 'adverts' in the last few Storm Fronts.

I agree with roughkut, efedding isn't obviously as popular as it used to be and was really dying out for a while. Yet that site has plenty of visitors and is a forum for Free Agents and promotes your site.

Well we don't have to limit ourselves to just Revival, we can make this a year long celebration!  I like chux's idea of the soundbites, and Hilds' idea of the segs sounds like fun.  Reminds me of that Revival one time I got some old guys to make one off segs.

I was checking out that Roughkut place, looks good!  And I've found your post Hilds about 4CW!  Pity there aren't any replies, but nevermind.  We should look at recruiting some free agents to the fed.

I picked up onemike from roughkut, so its worth doing. Just need a 4cw sig with some advertising, and then go over and post a shit load. They frown on spaming, so i got a strike over there as i basically tapped everyone up...

Well worth looking into tho, especially if we can post a bit over there.
