Lots of positives for England, but we really should have taken at least a point. I'd say we were actually the better team, just couldn't make enough of our chances.

England were more proactive but Italy were way more skilled, it's crazy how 19 year olds were getting cramp before a 35 year old. Lot of positives though England were fun to watch and looked slick in attack, we just need some creativity and to stop running around so much.

Running around so much? There was plenty of times where we were attacking and the play just seemed to stop as Italy players got back and no England players moved. No one was coming to support, no one was giving them options. They just stood around waiting for a pass to come to them. Was so frustrating to watch.

That said, about 75% of the time we did look quite good. Can only really complain about the score line as we should have got something from that game. Let's just hope that we can win the next 2 games.

There's no way Sterling was cramping, that was a work. He just wanted to give the guys a water break.

England did play well for 75 minutes but it wasn't very close. We didn't hit the post, bar & have a goal-line clearance, have more possession than them. Can't believe Rooney missed that gilt-edged chance, the goalkeeper even dived out of the way for him and he still put it wide. Lovely cross to set up the goal but that was about all he did. The space on the right hand side for Darmian & Candreva to do as they pleased was unforgivable. Constantly switching Rooney, Wellbeck & Sterling didn't help for communicating with the full-backs. And it had to England for the physio to jump up to celebrate the goal, trip on a water bottle and dislocate his ankle.

Of all the pundits to put on commentary they picked Phil Neville who was as charismatic as a brick. And Rio Ferdinand in the studio who doesn't know much either "Italy were more experienced." Darmian, 1 cap. Veratti, 6 caps. Immobile, 2 caps. Paletta, 3 caps. Sterling & Barkley were the only ones with single digit caps for England.

Suarez might have to make an appearance for the next game. Uruguay played 4-4-2 yesterday and I thought they were more of a 4-3-3 team with Suarez, Cavani & Forlan in attack. Suarez obviously replaced with the someone else if he's unfit but they changed the whole formation & setup yesterday and it cost them.

Switzerland in action next. They've got a lot of young European, Bundesliga talent. Drmić, Shaqiri, Xhaka, Stocker & Mehmedi. But then you've got the possibility of Senderos & Djourou as your centre backs. The heat may play a factor with them too.

Neville was so bad. I thought he was staying calm to build to something, but nope. It never came.

Rooney doesn't work on the left, we needed someone who could do better defensive work than him there. Welbeck would have been fine, but I'd strongly consider using Milner for the next match. Put Rooney back in the middle for the first half, if he doesn't do anything then switch him for Lambert. Sterling was excellent in the centre, but he's just as good on the wings so put him on the right. Maybe if Ox was around I'd put him on the right and Sterling on the left, but whatever.

Italy made the most of the few chances they had and our end product was lacking, but I still don't see that this was a match we couldn't have won.

The commentators are starting to piss me off in the France match. Constantly mentioning the second goal as controversial. How is it controversial? Goal line technology showed that it was over the line. Therefore it's not controversial at all. Goal line technology was brought in to stop controversy like that goal, and it's done it's job. Not controversial. Stop saying that it is!

The Honduarans were confused because it originally said No Goal when it hit the post, but then said Goal when it showed the goalkeeper pushing it over the line. The image in the stadium is supposed to show the outcome of what the referee heard but in that instance it showed both.

Tim Cahill just scored the best goal of the Tourney, caught the Dutch on a crazy counter-attack.

Spain are out already. Did not see that coming before the tournament started. Reigning champions not even getting out of the group stages and are the first team to be eliminated along with Australia who bow out because of Spain losing.

And now Cameroon are out too. A little less of a shocker than Spain, but still. Three teams out in one day, and if we're not careful England could be joining them soon enough.

Cameroon were an utter shambles. They can't play for toffee, so they resorted to punching the opposition & head-butting their team-mates.

The Song sending off was ridiculous. Really don't know what he could have been thinking. Wasn't so much a punch as a club to the back. Stupid red card, really was.

Croatia's fourth goal was the easiest goal of that guys career. Probably the easiest of the World Cup so far. Couldn't have had a simpler tap in unless it was a bit closer.

If England get through they'll be the luckiest bastards ever. Surprised how poor they were over two games. Too afraid to take any risks and it cost them dearly.

From last nights match between France & Switzerland. Adrian Chiles tries to get funny with Martin O'Neill but MON shuts him up and rinses Vieira & Cannavaro at the same time.

Ghana and Germany had one of the best second halves of the Cup. This World Cup has been awesome so far.

Funny seeing people trying to defend it. Yeah, one angle it you can't see it, but another you can clearly see it and the pic here shows the Italian guys shoulder when he was showing the ref. Should get a global ban since this is at least the 3rd time that he's bitten someone in a match.

Surely this is the last straw? This is something like the third time he's been accused of biting someone. His talent is extraordinary but that means nothing when you act like an animal on the pitch. He definitely needs to be banned and it needs to be for a very long time. He isn't exactly a first-time offender.

Found guilty at Ajax, which was his most blatant one. Guilty at Liverpool which was an obvious one. Got to be found guilty here as well as it seems quite clear he's done it again. There's loads of ex pros online kicking right off about it saying how he's a disgrace to the game. Once is bad enough, but 3 times is way too much which is probably why everyone is really going nuts about it.

I'd say the Ivanovic one is the most obvious one. Biting people 3 times is ridiculous, when you're a striker or attacking player the defenders on the other team do a lot of shit to piss you off (stepping on toes, grabbing balls, elbow, punches etc) and Suarez needs to know that gonna happen to him every game because of his talent, he's nuts to be biting people.
