Main Event

OK, so due to popular demand (well maybe not...) but the disclaimer first.. This is not a review of the show itself, but merely my thoughts on the show as I am watching.

Highlights being shown from last week, the only problem with this is the fact I actually watched Smackdown this week and therefore I have seen these replays like 6 times already...

Trips and Steph out first and we get a contract signing as well tonight, Hmm... That sounds like it will go down without a hitch or a Big Show... Not...  I'm glad that Steph gave us a verbal run down of the HIAC match list because it's not like they haven't being telling us enough already... When Trips said he trusts Shawn Michaels, Steph almost looked like a child who wanted to play with the same toy by quickly snapping "I do too" like a spoilt brat...  Oh.. here is Big Show, who is supposedly sacked and yet is managing to get on the Tron, Live Via satellite, Hmm... Let's all act ignorant and pretend that we won't see Big Show again tonight..

D-Bry vs Ambrose is next, and its great seeing these YES chants and remembering where he started with them and seeing where he has managed to take this simple one syllable word, whether it be YES or NO, he took the ball and didn't just run with it, he went and kicked an 80yard field goal, something I'm sure no one ever expected he would do.  The match itself has been a good match as it was always going to be with these 2 guys, and I kept thinking to myself about when Ambrose is going to break free from the Shield and move up, but then I realise how many people get lost in that upper mid card role and am glad once again he hasn't broken free and that the Shield are still pushed as an entity.  Good match, typical result though.

CM Punk is out next... I am surprised throughout this, that nothing has been mentioned about Ryback vs Punk HIAC 1 where Ryback was there to destroy punk, and Punk only won because of the fast count from the referee, this is just a testament on how Ryback isn't seen as dangerous as he once was, as this match is still about Punk vs Heyman and Ryback is just an obstacle, not a destructive force.  It even feels like Punk has ran out of things to say, as he is regurgitating the same stuff and feels like even he is bored of saying it.

Half decent backstage segment with HBK and Trips/Steph where even HBK admits that 1 of them 3 hasn't grown up and the other are basically grown up and changed haha... Nice bit of history about saying DX used to interrupt Tron feeds all the time and steph used to think it was funny haha...

The comedy match is next, so am gonna fast forward (Santino, Hornswoggle and Kahli all came out dressed as Elvis, just in case you wanted to know why I am going to fast forward)

Dolph Ziggler is out now and looks like he will be facing Randy Orton... Its such a shame how far Dolph has fallen, ever since the unfortunate concussion that kinda side lined his push and it is a shame as he is now stuck in that dreaded upper mid card place.  It was an OK match, a typical Randy Orton matchup, just a shame it was an obvious finish.

More John Cena videos... the same one that I saw on Smackdown... Fast Forward...

Now we have the Bellas vs the female version of Nash and HBK (Tamina and AJ) I actually expected Brie to pin Tamina on this match but to my surprise, Brie pinned AJ, the champion got pinned again...

The Wyatt Family up next, but this tag team match is kind of a non match as its used to prolong the Bray Wyatt vs Miz feud until Bray is back to health and able to compete etc...  The Wyatt family get the win over Kingston and it was an OK tag team match, it serves its purpose to further the feud etc, and done in a good way considering one of the guys is unable to compete...

Big E Langston fighting both Ryback and Curtis Axel now, before the bell, setting up for CM Punk to make the save this time i am guessing, but Big E has made the face turn, and I am looking forward to hearing the crowd chant 5, 5, 5, 5 for the  5 Count...  I just worry about a possible Big E v Ryback feud, because if they use Big E to catapult Ryback as a monster then it buries Big E in his first feud... but on the other hand, if Big E goes over Ryback it proves once again that Ryback is never going to go anywhere in WWE...

O... I never saw that one coming, this was highly original and something I have never seen before in WWE... a match was ordered to be restarted as a tag team match after CM Punk came down to attack Ryback and Axel.. whoever thought of that idea should be given a pat on the back...  I don't see why they couldn't have just made it a tag team match from the beginning, it would have made more sense and not wasted 5 minutes of my time.

Big E ets the win over Axel, I was hoping for a FIVE count after he got the win, but it never came... shame...

So it's the Not so Real Americans vs Tons of Funk... Been a while since seen ToF on Raw, I do hope that the Real Americans get the win though, Zeb needs a massive push and if his team have to be pushed for that to happen, then so be it. I said it, so shall it be... They win.

Big E vs Axel is announced for HIAC kickoff and I am guessing that Big E will get the win here and get the title, which means nothing now a days... then a video of John Cena (Fast Forward) and now a replay of ADR talking about John Cena from Smackdown (Fast Forward)

Goldust and Cody Rhodes are out now to  watch The Shield vs Usos... Cody and Goldust are probably WWE's second hottest property at the moment, and I wasn't sure why they were saying if Usos beat The Shield, then Cody and Dust would have to face them on Sunday at HIAC, because surely Shield have their championship recap clause no matter what anyways..  Nice to see more tag team action with legitimate tag teams though.  I really hope we get the Goldust vs Cody Rhodes match at WM, keep Cody in a good story for the next 6 months and a good win at WM to catapult him up to main event.. hopefully.

Anyways, back to the match.. It was a good tag team match that broke out into a big brawl with Usos, Shield and Cody-Dust all brawling... leaving Usos and Cody-Dust in the ring at the end... and the match is made official for HIAC with Cody-Dust defending in a triple threat tag team match against Usos and Shield...

Now for this boring contract signing, that is obviously going to go down without a hitch... this time with HBK in the ring as well... Bored of Triple H talking down to D-Bry now though... I know its only him trying to set him up to overcome the odds and prove everyone wrong, but it gets boring every week...  HHH playing the "im too good for D-Bry" card... HBK playing the "Im gonna do it for the fans" card and Randy bitching and moaning like a little girl... when did the Viper become a whining bitch??

It almost feels like they are setting up for a HBK return and match against HHH at WM30?? Would he come out of retirement??

Here comes a Semi Truck and am guessing this will be Big Show, yup here he is.. driving a Semi truck straight out into the arena where ADR used to park his cars... maybe this Big Rig is Big Shows version of a mini cooper??  Big Show comes out in a big rig just to tell Orton to turn around and then he gets kicked in head by D-Bry... Would have thought the whole Semi Truck would have had more of an impact than just being there, not even driving to the ring like Stone Colds Beer Truck haha....

Was an OK Raw.. Am very bored of the HHH storyline now though, feels like they have been dragging this on forever....

Almost God like? Maybe...

Good review (we all know its actually a review...).  Main thing that stuck out for me was the hhh/hbk tease. If hbk comes back and fights hhh at wrestlemania id buy it. I know they are both past it,and its been done 100 times, but id watch it, and it would be motn because hbk would make it that way.

Im sure it wont happen tho.

I would love to see that again also. Although if Punk vs Bryan is one of the main events, there would be stiff competition for that match of the night label

I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard people raving about a Paul Heyman promo. I take it he had a good one?
