Breaking Bad

Saw it and I agree. Sucks its over as I couldn't wait for each episode to come out. Shit really hit the fan this season and im just glad we didn't get another BS Sopranos ending

I don't think anyone would come into this thread before seeing the finale. But ya... Kinda luke warm to the ending. I was honestly really hoping Walt would not grow at all. I mean I am really glad he finally admitted that he loved cooking and loved the power and life of a meth kingpin, but rather than let Jesse go I was hoping that car he rode away in would blow up when he turned it on. Walt could have just walked away stone cold, gone to the lab, had his little happy moment then died. I really loved Walt for being a truly bad person moreso than being an anti hero. People only label(ed) him as such because he was the main character but he really had no redeeming qualities until this very last episode. I liked that about him.

Don't get me wrong, I go straight homo for Jesse, love that guy/character but it would have been pretty awesome if everyone died.

Nah, I think it went the way it had to go. It was a little strange not to have a happier ending, but really I can't think of anything else I could ask for. He was going to die even if he'd lived, so they did the right thing there. Jesse was always a face, so getting away in the end was the best thing for him.

I liked it. There was a lot to tie up at the end and they did it all in the signature slow pace, not rushing anything. Even things they set up episodes, even seasons ago all paid off. It shows the series was meticulously planned. That alone makes it a winner for me.

Unlike the Newsroom! What a lame finale that was.

I know he turned into a criminal mastermind and had people killed or killed them himself at will, but I really really felt bad for him. I know its because he's the main character of a show we've been watching for so long, but I just couldn't help but wish things could have somehow ended better. Loved the ride over these past 5 seasons though

Walt wasn't really that bad of a guy though, sure Heisenberg was him finally living before he died and he loved the game cos he was good at it. He never killed any innocents or had their death ordered, maybe one of those guys in jail weren't so bad. One thing that kinda irked me was those Nazi red necks got a bit over-pushed, but I think that's because Walt killed everyone he's worked for  but the people who caused him the most trouble was those he hired himself.

The scene with the grey matter tech people and Badger and Skinny Pete with the lasers made me mark out, was probably my favourite part of the episode. That and Lydia an her ricin tea, I liked how Lydia was getting a bit too big for her boots ordering Walt's death just so the ricin could kill her.

I liked that Jesse got the happy ending he deserved. He has been this shows butt monkey getting beat up, manipulated and having loved ones murdered because of his actions. He's finally free of Walt and the meth game, I hope he finds that 70 million.

Well.. for Fans of Breaking Bad...

This is what could have been... An official alternate ending (due to rumours pre the final season that it would end with Walter entering witness protection as a sitcom dad and thus Breaking Bad becomes a prequel to Malcolm in the Middle)

You will have to be quick though, as everywhere I find it, it is being taken down, as its apparently going to be an extra on the Breaking Bad Boxset

Was ok, but could have been a lot better. I didnt watch breaking bad but was a malcolm fan. Should have had more reference to malcolm, and maybe dewey as well. Could have been a really good extra, instead of just ok.

Over the past fourty days I've whizzed through the whole of Breaking Bad. My main thoughts are that its an amazing show and deserves the plaudits it gets. Watching them all day by day, I did feel at the end of season four with the death of Gus they could have tied everything up there. Bringing new characters in for season 5, did feel like starting all over again. Its a minor gripe, nothing majorly important because they did it well and still made it entertaining. Todd is a fucking mental case. I felt although Jesse managed to escape, it took him forever to get over Jane's death. Seeing Andrea killed by Todd because he tried to escape would have crucified him or maybe strangling Todd was his release. Hank started off an arrogant but funny arsehole but turned into a bully cop. He wouldn't go back to El Paso and fight the tougher Mexicans and stayed in the safer Albuquerque & he kept having panic attacks when things got too much for him. By the end. he seemed hell-bent on nailing Walt even though he was family and didn't really address the implications that would have caused. Walt on the other hand tried to stop Uncle Jack from killing Hank but did it anyway. I think all the characters have their good & bad points, so its difficult to place sole blame on anyone. Although Walt is perceived as the bad guy, making & selling drugs. You've also got Ted fiddling his accounts. Skyler having an affair with Ted. Marie stealing from homes, Jesse murdering Gale, Mike being a hitman, Gus & his empire. Hank bending the rules of the law and attacking Jesse. Morally or legally, they all break bad in the end.

I really probably should watch this show sometime... i'm kinda surprised i haven't yet... seems like i'm missing out.

I watched it marathon style during the 5th series - I averaged about 4 episodes a night and I finished the second to last episode the day before the finale. I only watched it because people were making such noise about it, so I figured I'd see what all the fuss was about. Worth it. You want to make sure you watch it sometime Snake.

Yeah, you may as well do it. It hooked me infinitely better than Game of Thrones has.

After Breaking Bad, I've now moved onto The Soprano's. I'm about 10 years out of date but it feels like I've got off one rollercoaster and jumped onto another. I've just started season 5, I think my favourite episode so far is the one where Christopher & Paulie get stuck in the forest after they try and bury the Russian guy.  Although Ralphie gave them a run for his money with the stuff he came out with.  Jeannie Sack with the 95lb mole on her arse & Valentina exposing his odd bedroom habits. I think my favourite characters are Johnny Sack, Sylvio & Christopher just because they're the most normal. Paulie makes me laugh but he's a complete nutter and can be an arsehole for no reason.

So, Spike (new channel in the UK) started showing this from the start a couple of months ago, and I checked it out. 

Now onto the start of season 4, and I'm loving it! Such an awesome show. I'll be sad when it finishes, but have really enjoyed it so far.

I live 5 minutes from "Bada Bing". It's an actual strip club named "Satin Dolls". There were tons of murals there when Gandolfini died.

Better call Saul is a great show as well!
