What a win for Newcastle. Better team in the first half, but fuck me did Tottenham go for it in the second. Proper dominated only for Krul to show why he's one of the best keepers in the league. Beast of a keeper!

Fair play Benji. Im annoyed that my sunday side got whipped 4-0, my reserve side lost 3-2 in the surrey cup and then i recorded this and watched it back.

U should sell Krul today, he'll never have a better game...

Man Utd now have some added incentive to beat Arsenal. City's shock loss to the Scum (sorry, Sunderland) mean that United can finally overtake them with a win today. Gonna be a tough one though with the form Arsenal are in.

Happy for Newcastle again, they're getting some great wins lately. Sunderland got lucky once and then defended really well to beat City today, that loss hurts. I don't know why we can't get our away form sorted out, but we need to quickly if we have any chance. I guess it's lucky that this happened on the same week as Chelsea, Spurs and possibly Arsenal also lost. Hoping Arsenal can get one back though, a draw would help more.

The referee screwed us... we looked brilliant turning 2-0 down to 3-2 up and then the ref gave a 95th minute penalty to make it 3-3. Positives are we came back after going two goals down, which we never do, and Bony showed his class.

That match was agony, I'm glad we're still top of the league but we could've salvaged a draw if we had more direct players on the pitch. Also, their goal would not have gone in if Mertesacker was playing as he clears most corners. Still it's good to have a Man U v Arsenal match that means something. We wee tired after Dotmund too.

It's been a good week to drop points at least, Chelsea got a very dubious draw they aren't looking good. City and Spurs losing is hilarious in different ways, top of the league going into the international break.

Fuck Manchester United.

Never happy for United to win, but in this case it's better than Arsenal going even further in front. United have been so bad that a win here just gets absorbed, they're now in competition instead of lagging behind.

So many dropped points early on this year. So far the league looking as open as it has for as long as I can remember.

They weren't even that good, usually they steam roll past us. Apart from Rooney they weren't anything special, Jones and Smalling had a good match but they'll be inconsistent. I seriously don't see anything to fear in this United team.

Im starting to worry about Swansea, I knew the europa league would take it's toll on them. They'll end up in a relegation dogfight before long.

I like Swansea but I do kinda want them to finish quite low this season (not relegated but close) purely because of what they said about Newcastle a few months ago. They laughed at Pardew saying that the Europa League takes it's toll and the squad wasn't big enough to do well in both. So it makes me want then to see just how much it takes out if them to try and do well in both.

The Europa league has an extra round and bigger groups compared to the Champions League right? So that's more matches in far away places with unheard of teams of course it's gonna take it's toll. Swansea are going to struggle because of it.

I predict the top 4 on Christmas will be;
Arsenal
Liverpool
Man United
Chelsea

I'm being bias with Arsenal on top, although I have faith we can stay top I'm not 100% sure we will be. See United and Chelsea in the top 4 and City 5th with not much to separate the 5 teams.

As long as Liverpool drop out of the top 4 I'll be happy. Kinda want United to win it, it'd be good or Moyes as he's facing the toughest job in football right now in replacing Ferguson.

Swansea will be fine. I'm not worried in the slightest. We may finish as low as maybe 13th or 14th, but we won't be anywhere near relagation. Like they said on MOTD, we came back from Russia friday evening, found ourselves 2-0 down and still fought our way back into the game. We should have had all three points, and if we did, we'd be 10th right now.

Top 4 at Christmas:
Arsenal
Liverpool
Chelsea
Southampton

Bottom 3 at Christmas:
Sunderland
Stoke
Crystal Palace.

The groups are the same, just four teams, but there are more of them. They go into a round of 32 whereas the champions league jumps straight into the round of 16.

Swansea will be fine. Even if they had to play double the games of everyone else, there's no way they're going to play worse than Fulham, Palace or...ugh...Sunderland. They're a midcard team in the premier league now, they'll hang around the likes of Villa and West Brom as teams who can maybe hit the Europa league with a good season or hit the borderline of relegation with a bad season, but will pretty much always be fine.

I don't see Southampton hanging on to a top four spot at Christmas, but much like Newcastle did a couple of years ago, they've done well enough early on to hang around near the top for another couple of months. Top six...maybe. Keep in mind they have to play Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Spurs before Christmas. They're good, but not that good.

I agree about Swansea being an established mid-table team. I meant they'll fight relegation like Newcastle like season but won't ever look like realistically dropping down. I also see Man United taking Southampton's place in the top 4.

Get that Championship shit out of here. This is the Premiership thread.

That said, gotta love Barton. Nothing like rubbing your studs on your ex team mates balls. Will teach Guthrie to have a stupid hair cut.

Joey Barton is like the british Suarez. Complete and utter asshole. It's not even like his talent allows him some slack. He's shit. If QPR come back to the Premiership, I hope Barton fucks off back to France.

Barton is a good footballer. He's just a twat. If he wasn't such a twat I'm sure he could easily play for a team in the top half of the Premiership. When Newcastle finished 5th he was such an important part of that team. He just causes far, far too much hassle and bad press for teams.

3 wins in a row for Newcastle. Happy days!

And to make things even better, Sunderland lost and Palace won which puts Sunderland back where they deserve to be. Bottom of the table.

Swansea pick up a much needed win. It was tight, but Shelvey saved the day.

Fun Fact: Three years running we've beat Fulham at their ground 2-1.

City just scored about 30 seconds into their match against Spurs, due to some questionable clearances (and a little bad luck) by Lloris. Yay!

What is going on with Tottenham? Would never have thought it would be 3-0 to City by half time. Lloris isn't having a good game at all.

Might not watch the 2nd half...

We have united next, if Spurs lose that does anyone think AVB could go? Levy is known as a chairman who doesnt have a lot of patents.

Im hoping not. I like AVB and think we will do well once players are in and settled, but I think he'll get the bullet if we lose today (which looks certain) and lose to utd
