Batman: Arkham Origins

Did some challenge mode stuff yesterday, i'm pretty much running wild on the leaderboards in this game... although it's young yet and people will get better and put up faster times/higher scores as the game goes on, i'm happy with these two.

Placed 39 in the Wrecking Crew predator map. i was honestly surprised that everything lined up so perfectly for me... perhaps someday i'll make videos.

Did this one with Deathstroke, i can only imagine how much the score would be if i hadn't lost my free flow combo from hitting an armored guy in the 4th round.

anyways just thought i'd share this... i love the series and i got very good at Arkham City, so it seemed to just carry over into Origins.

I just wanna follow up that last post by saying i don't mean to seem like an attention whore i just was very happy with the results and wanted to share 🙂

Just trying to make conversation with the 4w guys here...  i don't seem to be doing a good job of it throughout the forums... i'll try a little harder...

I was wondering what you guys think of the game? have you beaten it yet? just was wondering because i was wanting to talk about the story and potential future of the series.. but i don't want to mention any of that until i know you guys are done with it.

i know it's easy to say it when something is new, but i think Origins has the best story by far... i feel ok saying that because right after seeing the dark knight rises i said the story wasn't as good as the previous film...

well hope to hear some thoughts.

I've been enjoying it, just not had the opportunities to play is as much as I'd like. I imagine I have some way to go still considering who I haven't fought yet. Just done the one where you get the electric gloves. Was a few days ago so can't remember which part that was, but I'm sure I completed that mission and am now outside wondering what to do next.

Fucking awesome game loved every minute of it. Agree story line is best in this one. Found myself doing almost all the side quest WELL before I beat main story line. I really wished it was ALOT longer, but that's only bc it was sooo good. I only played online once. Was good, but I already sold the game to a friend after I beat all the side quests and main story line.

If they're smart they could roll with an Origins 2 and maybe even 3. I dunno how they'd do it, but it wouldn't be too hard to figure out. I hope they never stop making these games they're phenomenal.

I think Ben, is the only other person on 4w playing this game so i was just avoiding talking about things that happened within the game that would be spoilers until i know he was done, i was also waiting for you too LHeat.

Honestly, i'm more interested in a sequel to Origins, then i am for City... as much as i love Arkham City, the story is a mess and it's really confusing to wonder where they will take it next... hopefully not a big justice league game though... i'd rather the two developers create solely Batman titles... someone else can tackle the JL.

I like how you can pretty much go play the game however you want to at a certain point in the story i just had all kinds of fun and i'm still playing it exploring the city a bit more looking for Easter Eggs... so far the only thing i have found that nobody else seems to have mentioned was a news paper on the ground that said something like " Identity thief strikes again" with a picture of a bandaged face body like those found in City. I guess Hush was slicing shit up even back then he is also mentioned by Alfred at one point as his normal self performing an operation on co-joined twins. (I'm guessing the Hammer Brothers from City)

all around it's a fantastic game and i have so much more to say but i'm too tired right now.

Not sure at all why it got poor reviews in some cases they made it sound like it was horrible and then that be like saying the two previous games which where game of the year contenders/winners were also garbage... just made no sense.

Also got a hold of Blackgate for the 3DS, the handheld game and i gotta say it's good fun, kinda like Double Dragon, Metroid, and Mark of The Ninja all in one with the game itself having more of a feeling to that of the original game Arkham Asylum, it's great just not as good as Origins.

I dunno who gave bad reviews bc its just not true. I agree I haven't a clue where'd they'd go after City.....Azarel?(Spell check), Hush? I mean with Joker "dead" they need a top new villain. They've really avoided using Two-Face. I can see a sequel to Origins about Harvey Dent and eventually Two-Face, he needs more time in the games, he's a big time villain that pretty much had a cameo in City.

I have a few ideas of what the story might be in the in Arkham 4, (just gonna call it that now, we all on 4w who like this series knows which game is what)

One idea is because of the demand of Scarecrow that he might infact be the main villian

or Joker is revived by the lazerus pits.

or Suicide Squad

or Azrael leads his army into gotham and batman calls on the Justice League or maybe he handles him on his own.

i wouldn't be against a game where they do it like GTA V, and have switchable characters but i'd kinda prefer it to be members of the Bat-family (Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, ect. speaking of Batgirl, i wouldn't be surprised if she is dlc with challenge maps, they could give her most of catwoman's moves like the did with deathstroke and gave him most of robins move set even his pose.

hmmmm......I remember an easter egg in City that said something about Scarecrow being alive. Of course Azrael. I feel they should revive Joker or it was all BS to being with. Its a guaranteed great game if Joker is the guy.

Notice the Penguin didn't have the glass shoved in his eye the entire game, maybe Arkham Origins 2 will happen. I know its not a big thing, but I just feel like they purposely had him without it, so they could eventually show how it happened.

I'm hoping that they do one where the Joker isn't the main bad guy. Would make a nice change. I know he's fun and all, but some of the other characters can be as well so why not give them a bigger platform and be the main bad guy?

Well there's my question....which villain is up for it?

Two-face? Penguin? Azrael? Hush? Scarecrow?

I used to think some of those guys were worthy, but I dunno anymore. I guess if they did it right, it could be anyone really. I really strongly dislike the idea of any Justice League stuff

The Kightfall story would be great for one. Start off with Bane as the main story line. When you get to fight him now matter what happens he wins. You then work your way up with nothing to fight Azrael who took over the city after Bane beat you, before moving on to Bane again for the final battle.

Would make a great game story and allows something different. Every interaction, even just with the goons would be totally different.

The entire story line you're speaking of would be great, because it actually includes almost every single villain there is. I def could see that working for sure. I mean it basically starts with the prison being blown up and everyone escaping

Exactly. It would totally work and is so different from what we have now whilst still being able to retain the feel of all the previous games in this series.

I went into this game actually wondering if this was loosely based on Knightfall, because on ps3 they have the exclusive knightfall challenge maps and skins.

Also many of the characters from that story ark make their way in... Firefly, Bird (he looks nothing like he does in the book) Shiva i believe helped Bruce recover from his back injury that Bane gave him... at least i think she was in that. Batman and his 8 Assassins are kinda like the gauntlet he had to run in Knightfall before Bane made his move.

I know people are getting tired of Joker stealing the spotlight every game, but this was a good game to have him be the main villian, i like how he meets Harley for the first time and totally fucks her up in that few minutes. not enough to turn her into Harley Quinn though.. not yet. it was also a lot of fun for that one minute where you get to play as Joker and kick everyones asses.

I kinda hope they add him into DLC i really enjoy the challenge maps so i would like more.

also at somepoint mentioned in the season pass they will add more story mode content... so hell yeah.

Do you guys like the challenge maps? i sure do i love em infact i'm in the top 400 for the majority and even 2nd worldwide in one of deathstrokes predator rooms... one of the extreme rooms.

Now i have to admit these challenges either were made easier or i'm just really good from AC. my highest combo with Batman was in the 1-100 endurance mode i had 448 hits before it was interupted... damn batarang thrown at an armored enemy ended it instantly.

but i have a huge complaint i grinded hard getting every single medal in the challenge modes so what is it like 307 or something like that? the campaign versions were a pain in the ass which usually had me go into custom challenge with the same settings they let you choose from and practice a little... the sonic batarang is ass sometimes.. i hate when they are 15 feet away and go " i found one of the bats toys" and shoots it without me being able to explode it or even sneak up behind them....

the reward for completing challenge modes is the outfit Batman wears in Injustice it looks amazing only problem is unlike other skins you unlock it doesnt unlock outside of the profile you got it in..and by then there is nothing left to do... i'm hoping it will be patched i guess you can't even use it online either.. it really sucks because its second best skin in the game to me. (the dark knight being the other) that was tough to get but i have it down those dark knight challenges suck because you have to do them in order... 97% complete just need to do I am The night

Eh, i can't say i blame you once you beat the story and side quests there really isn't much else to do... in AC it felt like a much longer game... all i can say is i still love playing all 3 games in the series and mastering the combat with gadgets and all.

I'm just waiting on the DLC challenge maps and story mode continuation that was confirmed with the season pass.
