Dortmund 0 - 1 Arsenal

There were other games on too.

Great result for you. Totally shocked by it, but fair play.

Could be the 2nd year running a welshman wins player of the year if ramsey carries on.

I'm gonna start updating this more one the KO rounds begin because there's way too much going on on the match days to report anything. But Arsenal beat Marseille 2-0 quite comfortably.

Chelsea lost to Basel 1-0 ahahaha, shame. I hope they fail every season in the Champions League after what they did in 2012.

Fuckity fuck fuck, wtf were we playing at losing 2-0 to Napoli? We were much better than them throughout the match and still lost. Now we finish the group second and are probably gonna get Barcelona or Real Madrid or some shit now FUCK SAKES, I haven't been this mad since we lost 3-1 to Villa. Hopefully we get Athletico Madrid in the last 16.

Only good thing to come out of this match as Theirry Henry as the Pundit.

Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Zenit v Borussia Dortmund

Schalke v Real Madrid

Galatasaray v Chelsea

Bayer Leverkusen v PSG

Milan v Atlético Madrid

Olympiakos v Manchester United

Manchester City v Barcelona

Arsenal get the best team in the world for a second year in a row, same shit happened a few years ago when Barca were one of the best teams ever, seems so rigged to me. Speaking of Barcelona, they get Man City which looks like is a worse draw for Barca than it is City, I can see City taking this one. Drogba goes back to Chelse, Psg, Dortmund and United get the easiest draws. I presume Atletico will wipe the floor with Milan.

We're gonna have sme heavyweight encounters in the Quarters.

Obviously the two games to look forward to are the Arsenal and the Man City ones.

If Arsenal play to their best and like how we know they can, then it will be a classic. Probably the games I'd want to watch.

City vs Barca is money bags vs the team most consider the best in the world.

At least we're at home, I guess. I'd prefer pretty much any other team, but if we're going to win this was going to happen eventually. Sigh.

Just read an interview with Pellegrini about tonight's Barca match that really put my mind at rest. We have nothing to worry about with a mastermind like Manny at the helm.

"...if we don't have possession of the ball we are going to lose the ball."

Well, City have lost the first leg.Would be very surprised if they get anything from it with 10 men. City can feel a bit hard done by though I reckon. Definite red card, Demichelis didn't get the ball and did take Messi as the last man - and let's face it, Messi through on goal is 100% a goal scoring opportunity. BUT, the tackle was outside the box. Even when contact was made, it was just outside the box. Should have been a free kick instead of a penalty.

100% red card. 100% outside the box.

Agreed. He had to go, but it was outside. He shouldn't have been playing, Demichelis is a liability. I don't know if Lescott would have been any better, but he couldn't be much worse. Big relief that Garcia wasn't on though, I was hearing that he may take Fernandinho's place if he wasn't fully fit. Dodged a bullet there.

Totally confused by some of the subs, Negredo coming off was insane, even if he was tired. Dzeko just doesn't have the educated feet for a game like that. Navas off for Nasri isn't so bad, although I have no idea why they didn't use Navas more. Everything went down the left, they didn't take advantage his pace at all. City looked great once they were a man down though. Many solid efforts. With Aguero we may have been able to make something more than we did. We could really do with another quality centre back, I like Lescott and Nastasic hasn't done too much to offend me, but when they play they always look like the weak link. A little unfair considering they play next to Kompany, but it's true. We had a chance to get something from this game anyway, but with Aguero back and with a better back line it would have been a hell of a lot easier.

Personally I'd have played Kolarov at left back instead of Clichy, with Milner starting on the left wing. He's solid, and proved that he's a lot better than I give him credit for against Bayern. I like both guys, but playing two left backs made little sense to me.

Heard the other week that no team has overturned a 2 goal deficit in the Champions League knock out stages before. If that's correct, the Moyes has just created history in United worst season in a very long time. Great come back.

To be fair, it was only Olympiakos. They shouldn't have gone two down in the first leg. But yeah, great result for them, they looked like a totally different team. Even Fellaini looked good in his little cameo at the end. I hope Giggs gets a bit more game time in the league, he hasn't scored yet this season and that's a streak I don't want to see end before he retires. It's just about as impressive as Undertaker's.

Mid Card

That must've been some serious good red wine that the Olympiakos manager and team received in exchange for throwing away this game. ;-)

The draw will be really interesting now. Nice blend of dark horses and heavy favourites. Of course, no one is going to deny Chelsea a hat trick of major European trophies. It's a forgone conclusion.

Of course it is, there's only 2 in this day and age, 3 if you count the supercup.

United fans are getting a bit over excited about beating Olympiakos, they did make it way harder for themselves than they should have.

Not disputing that it is a major trophy, just saying that chelsea fans always degraded it until they were in it.

I try to avoid talking football with Chelsea fans, I advise you do the same.

Mhm, it always goes back to the fact that they won 11 trophies in 10 years. Then I throw out the Russian billionaire stuff and how none of them really count, then it goes back and forth without going anywhere. It's annoying because they've been doing it for so long it seems kind of redundant reminding them because they don't really have anything to say about it.

Of course the titles count. I'd love to discredit all of John Cena's title reigns because I hate him, but I can't. And admitting that Chelsea and United are great teams and credible contenders makes it infinitely sweeter when they lose.

I like to think the europa league means something, so it always annoys me to hear TV pundits hate on it so much. They talk about it like it's a pain for the clubs to have to work "Thursday - Sunday" schedules, which apparently is a bad thing for a reason no one can explain to me. It's the B trophy for sure, but still one involving many of UEFA's best teams. And Swansea.

Great result for Man Utd last night, but Chelsea are going to have to do well in the return leg after losing to PSG.

2-1 wouldn't have been so bad, they could definitely pull off a 1-0 at home to go through, but 3-1? Hm. Asking a bit much.
