I think I found my new favorite wrestler... Honestly though, I like Darren. I love PTP, I think him and Titus have great chemistry and they are hilarious together on screen and especially in the back during Backstage Fallout on Youtube. Now with this, it just makes me like him more. He is awesome.

Someone made a good point elsewhere. Hopefully we see the day when someone in the lime out (or anyone for that matter) can come out of the closet and not one shit was given by anyone. No big deal, no big news, nothing. Just, "Oh hai Mark. That's cool. So anyway..." It'll be a while but I hope to see that.

The south here in the states is still very strong in ignorance. It's a thing passed down to every generation. I have a friend, her whole family is racist except her sister who had a baby with a black dude. So the kids is black, but because everyone around him treats him different and says nasty shit about black people he himself hates black people.

Racism, homohating(because its not a phobia), and general ignorance is not going to die out in my neck of the woods anytime soon.

Gay wrestlers are nothing new. I mean, Pat Patterson has been a major figure in WWE for the last 30 years. The attitude backstage isn't the story here, I think most people would have already known and the fact we haven't heard about this before shows how little came of it. The news here is the public perception of a sportsman - kinda - coming out. As far as I know, no one in the US "big four" sports has ever come out, the same goes for football here and I think rugby too. That's a hell of a lot of athletes, and none of them were gayers? I don't believe that for a second.

I haven't heard one negative comment about Young being gay, just surprise that someone in his position would come out about it. And it's good surprise, it's supportive.

Although, being wrestling, there is the rumour that this is all a work to promote SummerSlam.

1 nba player has. 2 female ufc ers, 1 male ufc er (tho i don't think nick ring ever confirmed it), a bunch of former  pro athletes have come out, pat pat, kanyon, orlando jordan, and now darren young.

and, I'm in NC, and it seems a lot less than a generation ago... when I was growing up with racism was basically accepted. I worked for Replacements, Ltd for a few years. It is in Greensboro NC and is the largest gay-owned, gay friendly business in the world.

I don't care. I just hate the crap surrounding it every time any person in any sport comes out. This seems fine but when that NBA guy came out, people where saying it was so his team would re-sign him he wasn't good. Just annoying

Honestly, if you have a problem with this, you just hate gays. Plain and simple. D-Young was getting tons of props before this for how his character is and how his talent in the ring is and if the fact that he loves the dong changes your feelings on that, you are a hater. Let the guy do his thing.

The Viewership numbers are in and I guess we will be seeing more of Darren Young

Darren Young and Titus O’Neil vs. Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger gained around 250,000 viewers for a 3.5 rating. Considering who was in the match and the fact that it’s not at the normal top of the hour growth period, this shows that the Young story led to an increase in viewers.

I remember him saying how if Linda McMahon didnt win her congress seat (after he got canned) it would have all been for nothing.  Poor guy.  Any chance he ever gets brought back now?

An openly gay wrestler can't help but bring in a lot of viewers(for the one wrestler, anyway).  I hope it does get them a better push.  Always thought they were talented.

I always liked PTP cos it's a black stereotype that's not very offensive and easy to get behind, they are sort of the anti Cryme Tyme (even though I loved Cryme Tyme).
