Could be a way to test the waters a bit before making a Flash film, and maybe even familiarise people with the Flash character. When a Flash film was "announced" at Comic Con, I've heard of some people getting mixed up and thinking it meant a new Flash Gordon film.

Barry Allen has now been cast for Arrow season 2. It's a Glee actor who's got it.

I don't think they will ever make the justice league movie at this point.... a flash movie seems unlikely i have my doubts his rouges as well as himself would keep the audience into it. however the flashpoint paradox was a fantastic film and i was quite happy with it.
Arrow show i don't care for... feels like it caters to girls and teenagers more then anything else.

A flash gordon film would be far better than anything else to do with arrow, as long as sam jones has the lead and brian blessed is in it as voltan! It should, obviously, avoid all reference to the series from a couple of years ago and be based soley on the 80s film (which i bought a week or 2 ago)

I thought it was red skull (or something like that), unless that was just in the one film I saw with the Flash from the 80's...
Captain America is Red Skull. Even got the Nazi vs. America history to them....
I think I heard that Flash villain's name maybe once. Geez seems lame.

CW president Mark Pedowitz announced today that the second season of Arrow will see the introduction of Dr Barry Allen.
Comic Fans will know that Dr Allen's alter ego is 'The Flash'
Pedowtiz said: "We do want to expand upon the DC Universe, and we felt this is a very organic way to get there,"
With the possibility of a Flash film prior to The Justice League film if it goes ahead in 2017, would it make sense for CW to do a series?
