Main Event

So here we go again with my thoughts on Raw...  and we are kicking off with Vince McMahon coming to the ring, better than the drum roll entrance I guess for Maddox, Am kinda getting bored with this McMahon vs Triple H storyline already, and yet we got like 9 months of it left 🙁

Brad Maddox is more annoying than Vicki as Ram GM... he needs to stay off the microphone until his Balls drop and his voice breaks.  The way this whole storyline is going with Vince and Daniel Bryan it can only end 2 ways, because if D-Bry loses clean to John Cena, then it will make it look like everything Vince is saying about D-Bry not being able to cut it, is true... So it will either end with D-Bry being the new champion or end with a Disqualification of some kind, either from Maddix, McMahon or Ryback, which means Summerslam Main Event ends in a DQ which is no good for the number 2 show, or maybe Matt Morgan return and takes out both Cena and D-Bry and is Vince's new hitman... I am expecting a Cash in by Orton though, if he loses a few matches before Summerslam, then you know its happening I guess

The Shield are coming to the ring and I was hoping that they were coming to confront Vince on something, but on the camera you see Vince leaving the ring.. did the Chairman of the board just run away from The Shield hahaha.... Six Man tag match and am guessing we will have Ambrose pinning one of the Usos in this, so that it doesn't Kill the Uso's theoretical chances against the tag team champions and you wouldn't want to pin Henry or The Shield... Ok match and I was right, was a predictable ending that doesn't really hurt anyone in the match (4CW brain was working then haha)

Backstage segment where it just so happens a cameraman was recording 3 guys eating when Ryback randomly shows up.... I cant take Ryback serious, he can pick on the little men as much as he wants, we all know he cant get the job done and he is sooo cliche it is soo annoying id almost rather watch sheamus saying "fella" rather than another Ryback segment.

Here is RVd vs Summer Rae's valet ... should be easy win for RVD, really not interested in watching a valet vs RVD match.. Count out win for RVD, boring match

AJ vs Kaitlyn is up next, as much as I like to see AJ, they really need to bring up some talent from NXT for her to feud with, id love to see Paige up in the main roster, but I guess we have to stick around with the current pool of talent for now and see the same matches over and over.. I just not sure who is telling the creative team that Kaitlyn is over with the crowd, because it was DEAD during this match... Kaitlyn gets the non title victory... guess we not through with these matches between these 2 just yet...

Out comes Ziggler and challenges Big E, i was expecting someone to come out and say no, but it going ahead, here we go... This wont end cleanly because that will spoil Summerlsam... Surprisingly enough, AJ gets involved and its a DQ win for Ziggler and Ziggler rolls out is stood next to Big E basicaly, but its OK because its off camera, so he can slide in the ring and question AJ without the fans realising that he was stood next to Ziggler and they didnt attack each other...

Christian vs ADR is up next, non title match and with us having one champion lose tonight, Im guessing that the same will happen with this match as well.. I know who is facing Del Rio, but I will play devils advocate and play dumb... If ADR does pick Christian, then Im wondering what will be different to this match we are seeing tonight, as if he did pick Christian, its kinda giving the Summerslam match away early isnt it, it be like having Cena vs D-Bry tonight with a clean finish... I hope they do take the title off ADR, but I cant see them changing both titles on one night.. Christian wins a half decent match (the half being Christian, I dont like ADR ha)

I never saw Smackdown, but I am now eternally thankful for the replays, Sandow was brilliant on Smackdown, haha, I like him even more now than I did before and I already really liked both Sandow and Rhodes... This was a good match between Rhodes and Barret, shame Wade is getting buried as of late, but good win for Rhodes and am glad to win Sandow and Rhodes progressing nicely with a singles career, although cant help but feel only 1 of them will break the glass ceiling. Good post match promo by Sandow, am enjoying this feud.

Kane vs D-Bry was a good match, I thought they would have saved this for a PPV rather than having this match on Raw, it was a alright match with a roll up victory for D-Bry, expected a bit more from them though the way we had a year build to this basically and here comes The Wyatt family after Kane.. Just get the feeling that the crowd dont get Bray Wyatt at all and feel like it is going over there heads too much, which is a shame because his character is one of the best there has been in a long time, but WWE has spoiled the fans for years by giving them dumb storylines and characters that they have slowly dumbed down the audience and now they cant understand the subtlety of Bray's entrance and overall nature of his character and words.

Feel sorry for Nattie losing to Brie Bella even if there was interference which is obviously made to promote Total Divas  and kings line of "What The Duck"..

Curtis Axel is up next and R Truth has fallen so far since losing Little Jimmy, because you know this will end with CM Punk attacking Axel in some way.... I couldnt help but face palming when Heyman passed Axel the microphone... atleast he kept it short but saying he is more Perfect than Perfect is a bit questionable, in more ways than one... Here comes Punk before the match is over... goes after Heyman and then Axel and ends with Wolverine standing on the Announcers desk.

Here comes Trips, for more of this story where we got 9 months left, wish they would have stuck to mold and not started the WM storyline till Royal Rumble, atleast it would save us this annoying storyline that is going to drag out until its unbearable and we will all be dying for Linda to come back haha. A Corporate makeover for D-Bry?? hmm.. Not sure, but if D-Bry loses at Summerslam, he might as well go to the bottom of the pile.

Now here comes Cena and he is having a Tables match with Ryback... havent we been here before??? Such an original story from the writers here... Out comes Boreback... If Cena loses then that will be 3 champions losing in 1 night... After a typical Ryback match and another gimmick match between these 2, Cena has won and he wins cleanly.. So that kills Ryback once again, he cant get the job done... yet again, Ryback has his questionable momentum killed.

3rd Raw in a row, the show ends with the crowd chanting YES YES along with D-Bry in the middle of the ring

I like Maddox. He needs work, but, him in charge give me the feeling that wwe is doing a 'youth movement' kinda thing, like when wcw stole all of wwe's top old guys, and they were forced to go with cheaper, unproved guys like Val Venis and the NAO. New means unpredictable, cuz lets face it, when HHH, Brock, CM Punk, Cena or all the 'old guys' are out there - they ain't losing. that = boring.

I also like Vicci... in concept. She gets huge heat. She needs something new. I wouldn;t be against a ryback pairing. give ryback SOMETHING to do until he learns to wrestle.

The Shield... still in my Fave 5 (they count as 1).

Ryback seg.. dumb, boring, predictable.

RVD vs FDO... saw ending from the start. What happened to FDO? he used to be in my fave 5.

AJ vs Kait. when i saw it was non-title, it was predictable.

Ziggy needs to be a heel (that people like, he could be a pink-skinned eddie G.)

Still a fan of Christian. Still think ADR is boring.

Sandow is in my Fav 5. Cody - also in my fave 5. I think he needs to play up his lisp and moustache more, and just go the overacting rote (like when he had the mask, but funny).

WTF is up with natalie. I know she wants to promote the other divas, but seriously... she deserves better. what happened to 'be a hero, don't be a bully.' ????

I think Axel will be great... he's not there yet.

Wyatts... fave 5. (they count as 1).

Unlike Booker T, my fave 5 has 5 names in it.

I like Maddox as GM. He has good control of his character and I think that once the McMahon saga ends he will have his chance to shine as a solo authority figure. Bryan and McMahon had a good little exchange but it had a kind of abrupt ending.

I had the same thought that The Shield were going to get Vince but I quickly remembered that they had a backstage seg a month or so ago and Vince told them he loved The Shield. I hate when they are trying to push a wrestler and then they get the commercial entrance. Mark Henry is really having the best run of his career and he looks like this might be his farewell tour as he is going all out and it's fun to watch. I am just not sold on the Uso bros. They just don't seem like a team that I could buy taking out the top tag team in the company. The Shield are always great and there is nothing bad to say other than I don't like Ambrose's finisher.

Ryback's new character has potential but having random plants get beat up doesn't work. Why not have him get rid of Sin Cara or someone lame.

RVD looks old and he doesn't mix well with Fandango. They just didn't have a rhythm. I expected better from both guys.

AJ's backstage promo was funny but then the match happened. Kaitlyn has lost to AJ numerous times and she still gets shots. There has to be someone else. The divas division is in such shambles that anyone could be filled in and it would be accepted at this point.

Ziggler vs. Big E was good. It built both men very well but it was just a taste of SummerSlam. I just hope they don't hang AJ above the ring in a cage. Ziggler is great as the little babyface and Big E is a great monster. Can't wait to see more. They just have to stick with the face turn for DZ. They made a mistake by quick turning him. I like the idea of him as a face but they didn't set it up at all.

ADR vs. Christian was decent as they have history together. It was good back and forth without a decisive winner. It sets them up for a future title match where ADR will most likely come out on top. Glad to see Christian getting some wins at the main event level.

I can't wait for more Sandow vs. Rhodes. Cody HAS to shave the mustache. He looks ridiculous and it just doesn't fit his character.

Kane vs DB was good but a step down from last week which shouldn't happen with DB's push to the title but it wasn't bad enough to hurt anything. It served it's purpose. The Wyatt's are awesome and anything they do right now, I am all about it.

The Bella/Nattie deal isn't even worth commenting on.......

Curtis Axel vs. K-Kwik was there just to further Punk and Heyman. It worked as Punk and Paul E were gold in there roles.

So it looks like they are going to try and shave the beard. Unless this is a comedy segment for next week with DB rejecting everything they do, this isn't going to work. It's almost like they are trying to fix something that isn't broken.

Cena vs. Ryback was the exact same match I saw at a house show where I live at the beginning of June. I liked the Cena/Bryan exchange as it looked like Cena was punked out and he wasn't happy about it. This will not end with both men being faces.

The Blue Print

Anyone else see Randy Orton aligning with Vince? Just a thought, Daniel Bryan wins at Summerslam, Vince comes out with Orton and the briefcase and Orton cashes it in and wins the title. Seems like that is what it is all leading up too. Just a thought that crossed my mind.

Beefy

The first hour and 40 minutes of Raw was probably the best collection of free tv matches I have seen in a long while. Not a ton going on in the storyline/promo department but none-the-less the quality of the matches were fantastic. Even AJ Lee vs Kaitlyn was really good. However the last 40 minutes of the show after the Wyatt Family jumped Kane the quality took a nose dive. One of the Bellas vs Natalya, Nattie could not carry that Bella to save her life. And the ugly duck ending was a train wreck. R-Truth vs Curtis Axel was all R-Truth for 2 minutes before Punk came out and the match got thrown out. And Cena vs The Ryback was OK I suppose. But I have never seen anyone sell going through a table like The Ryback did at the end of the match. It was interesting I guess. Basically no selling a table spot.

My favorite matches were Cody vs Wade, Usos/Henry vs The Shield, and Big E. vs Dolph. Kane vs D Bry was booked very well and Del Rio vs Christian was a strong technical showing. I think it might have been the longest match on the night. Would be a great feud for the IC title. Weird that it will be over the world title.

Also, Fandango handled RVD surprisingly good in my eyes. He quickly learned how to take that kick after RVD nearly broke his nose. The second time Van Dam hit the kick Fandango put his hands up and blocked it a good foot away from his face. I'd rather he not get hurt than it look "good."
