Bale isn't worth that either. Although I would pay more for Bale that I would Suarez any day. Better player and doesn't cause all the aggro and bad press.

I agree with benjawi. Let's be honest, most of the players are not worth what they have cost or what clubs want for them (Torres 50m, Carroll 35m, Bale 85m, Suarez 40m, Berbatov 30.5m) but if a club doesn't want to sell, you have to pay big.

Arsenal want Suarez (although why, I don't know, yes he's talented but he's a liability and in any other sport would be shunned) and so they are gonna pay big for him... If they make a third offer, with a few million on top, I can't see Liverpool rejecting it again.

Suarez staying if he wants to go so badly will only hinder Liverpool. I don't care what any player says, if they don't want to play for a club, they won't give 100%... so Liverpool keeping Suarez in the long run will hurt them... they should cash in, and use the money to bring in two or three new players.

Suarez is awesome and I'd support him in an Arsenal shirt.

But I doubt this is gonna happen, Arsenal are kind of desperate and Liverpool sold Tores for 50 mill. Suarez is in much better form and much better a player so Liverpool want the same amount or more.

It's true that players aren't worth what people pay for them because of teams like Chelsea, City and PSG fucking up the whole transfer market. It's a cycle, the more rich billionaire teams popping up taking the best players from each team the teams are gonna over charge for their best players because they know if you don't buy him one of these dumb rich teams will. It happened to Arsenal when they didn't want to pay 25mill for Mata but Chelsea glady would and this year they didn't want to pay 30m for Jovetic but Man City will do it gladly.

Well... I laughed in irony when Liverpool fans were posting pictures of them burning their Liverpool Suarez shirts straight after the end of the season when Suarez came out and said he didn't know if he wanted to be at Liverpool or not..

And now I gotta say, every Liverpool fan should do the same... as he will never be welcomed at the club by supporters if the latest news is true...

HE is saying that Liverpool have broken a verbal agreement between them, as when he signed a new 4 year deal last year he asked for a clause to be added which would allow his release if Liverpool were not in Champions League Football and an offer in excess of £40m was made, yet Liverpool refused this but said they would act in good faith if such an offer was made, but made sure that the wording of the contract which was signed never included the release clause... and Suarez agreed to this not being in the contract

Now with Arsenal offering £40,000,001 and Liverpool turning down the offer, Suarez is saying they have broken a verbal agreement and considering taking them to court...

Liverpool need to wash their hands and let him be someone else's problem as soon as possible.

They should just sell him and buy a player on the same level who actually wants to play for them. He's more trouble than he's worth anyway. With 40m they could sign a great player - or even two.

Luis Suarez has been told to train with the Under 18s until he accepts that he will not be sold then when his attitudw improves he will be allowed to rejoin the first team

Rodgers has said that he wont let anyone bring down the mood of the first team and with Suarez unable to play the first 6 games he has been told to stay away until his attitude improves

Rodgers hope is that Suarez will accept that Liverpool will not sell him and that when he accepts this he will give 100% back to liverpool.

Suarez is now apparently not going to submit a formal transfer request after understanding liverpools hardline stance on the issue

This is getting ridiculous. I don't see the point in them keeping Suarez if he doesn't want to be there. He won't be motivated to play well for a club he doesn't want to play for. They should sell him, make some nice money, and use it to replace him with someone who doesn't have a major attitude problem.

The problem is, Arsenal are the only team to make an actual offer and Liverpool will not sell him to a Premier League rival... You cant blame the club for that

Well, yeah I can understand that... but there`s no point in keeping Suarez if he isn`t going to be giving 100% ... he`s banned for a few games anyway... he`s not even training with the team so it`s not like he has his friends (if he has any) around him... he`s going to be demotivated and probably play like ass til he gets sold, whether its to Arsenal or someone else.

If he doesn`t go in this transfer window, I think he'll definitely be leaving in January.

Oh, and Rodgers has been saying how Suarez isn`t bigger than the club but clearly he is, because if Suarez was at any other club, and he was acting like he has been over the last year, he would be out that door fast. Liverpool need to get off Suarez`s cock and realise that there are better players out there.

Rodgers is doing it right though... He has banned him from training with the squad etc and Suarez isn't bigger than the club... If any other team had put a bid in, he would have been sold, but he wont be sold to a rival team, it makes no sense to do so especially if you don't have to...  If he doesn't play 100% then he wont play and then his chances of being sold diminish

Your argument is flawed though... It aint about anyone being on Suarez cock, you ask Liverpool fans and they including myself would be happy to see the back of him, but at the same time I don't want to see him sold to a rival premiership team just because he is kicking up a fuss and throwing his toys out the pram... The minute you pander to tantrums, is the minute you admit the player is bigger than the club. Swansea might have that problem one day.

With who? As far as I know, everyone on the Swansea team is very happy to be there. And anyway, Swansea have no problem selling a player who wants to go. We take the money and buy one or two new players who are just as good. We did that when we sold Scott Sinclair and Joe Allen (we got £15m for Joe Allen, which was great. The guy's a good player, but he's not £15m good).

This has probably been the worst transfer saga ever, and as an Arsenal fan I've seen my fair share. He wants to leave, Liverpool don't want to sell him to Arsenal because they don't want to strengthen a team they are competing for places with (which is wishful thinking from Liverpool tbh). I don't get why Rodgers is saying Arsenal aren't being classy, all they've done is put in a few bids for him.

I don't even want him at Arsenal, he'll only be in London until he can pander to Real Madrid to sign him. If Arsenal buy him for let's say 45m, are Real really gonna pay the same amount?

Ha, I only reporting what I read..  I hope it isn't true as I just want an end to this now so Liverpool can focus on making plans for the season and the transfer window is getting close so it be harder to replace him.
